Kathleen Noone & Marianne Muellerleile Return

Kathleen Noone and Marianne Muellerleile return to Passions on December 6th. Check out the clip of them from one of their previous stints on the supernatural soap.

You know, I really wish Kathleen Noone would get a role on one of the network soaps. I've been a fan of Noone since her days on Sunset Beach and I can think of a couple soaps she's be awesome on.

For example: She'd make an excellent sister for Gloria Fisher Abbot on the Young and Restless. Or it would be great to see her re-team up with Leslie Ann Downs on Bold & Beautiful now that Jackie owns Spectra. I'm sure I can think up some other ideas, but I suppose all the Gloria Fisher haters are probably recovering from horror induced strokes at the thought of a sister for Gloria on their screens so I better let them recover before I try coming up with any other ideas.

Bruno Reveals Info On New Filming Style

We've heard all about how Guiding Light and As the World Turns are saving money by filming on location with less expensive cameras as opposed to filming in studio. Now, Guiding Light star Mandy Bruno gives us some insight on her MySpace Blog into what we should be seeing on our TV screens in the near future.

"As some of you may know, the writers strike is still going, and while it has effected many a television program, we are not currently effected by the writers strike as we had many scripts pre-written, and we are taping pretty far ahead. We are also beginning to implement the new taping technique, which is VERY exciting. I am curious to see what the fans have to say! Finally, all of our outdoor scenes will take place OUTSIDE, (imagine that!) and people will live in real houses, (not just at the Beacon!) and when someone is in a car (they will really be in a car driving!!). Needless to repeat, I am excited!!" - Mandy Bruno

Brandon Routh Weds

We reported last week that Brandon Routh (f. One Life to Live) was going to get married this last weekend. Now word is starting to come out about the exclusive event.

ET Online is reporting that "The groom was escorted down the aisle by his parents. He wore a cashmere three-piece suit, Sea Island cotton shirt, and satin tie by Looysen Fine Clothing. The bride glowed in a white Junko Yoshioka gown with Chantilly lace and intricate platinum beading, featuring a unique open back with a dramatic scallop-edged lace cowl. She was preceded down the aisle by three bridesmaids dressed in rose-red strapless gowns."

The First Gay Thanksgivings in Daytime

I thought it might be important to take note of the fact that soaps, as a genre, have celebrated Thanksgiving with both a lesbian (All My Children's Bianca and Lena, 2003) and now a gay (Luke & Noah on As the World Turns, 2007) couple. So for the memories, here are clips from both shows.

I do have a question though.
Where do you think soaps as a genre will go with gay characters? Do you think that they will be written into a corner and then only appear for important occasions as All My Children has done with Bianca or do you think that we'll begin seeing more shows invest in actual gay couples on their shows as As the World Turns is doing with Luke and Noah?

Oprah Can’t Get A Break

You know, Oprah just can't get a break lately. First there was the James Frye book scandal. Then came the alleged abuse scandal involving the children at her school. Now Page Six is reporting that a former employee has launched a website, in an attempt to draw publishers attention to his book "Ruthless",  which will supposedly expose what really goes on behind the scenes at Harpo and in Oprah's person life.

Of course this gossip overshadows the other Oprah news coming out early this week. Oprah made a secret trip to South Africa to visit with the parents of the children in her school. Also, it was just announced that Oprah is going to be going on the trail with Barack Obama presidential campaign.

Hayden Panettiere GQ’s Obsession

Former Guiding Light star Hayden Panettiere (Lizzie Spaulding) has been named GQ's Obsession. Here are a couple of the interview questions but be sure to visit GQ for the full interview.

GQ: when do you intend to become the latest screwed-up girl in Hollywood?
Hayden: Never, never. Cross our fingers.

GQ: We can’t schedule it for your twenty-first birthday or anything like that?
Hayden: You can’t schedule rehab for me. And I don’t think you can schedule any DUIs. I think I’m going to be one of those boring girls.

Hope & Regret Telenovela

This is some AWESOMELY Cheesy Goodness folks.
Nicki sent me the links to this Telenovela spoof starring such daytime names as Lindsey and Justin Hartley (Passions) and Sean Kanan (General Hospital & Bold and Beautiful) and for those crime buffs amongst us it also stars David Krumholtz of Numb3rs.

Warning:
It does contain some explicit language.
