SHOCKING RUMOR: Dylan Cash OUT???

Another day another shocking rumor! This one concerns General Hospital's troubled preteen Michael Corinthos (Dylan Cash).  GH message boards are fired up over the possibility of Michael being critically injured after being caught in the crossfire of the growing mob war between Sonny,  Jason and  the Zaccharas. Again this is only a RUMOR.

According to a poster claiming to have the "inside scoop", Dylan Cash's contract is up soon and it isn't expected to be renewed. Michael's alleged injuries-he is rumored be left comatose with brain trauma-will be storyline dictated in order to spirit the character off the canvas and ignite the current truce-loving Jason's bloodlust for the Zaccharas.

If this rumor is true it could prove even more controversial than past Michael storylines, i.e. the recent accidental shooting of his dad's galpal Kate and his almost killing his bio dad AJ Quartermaine a few years back. And speaking of the Quartermaines, what would Michael leaving the canvas mean for this already fractured daytime dynasty?

Great, another Q down for the count! Sad Why don't they just blow up the Q mansion and get it over with for goodness sakes!!

I'm wondering IF they're doing this, if it's not only to up the ante with the whole Zacchara s/l, but also to facilitate a SORAS-ing of Michael? You know, have Dylan Cash off for a year and then bring Michael back as an older teen? Probably not, but just a thought...

Not that I'm that fond of Michael...but it does make you wonder about the Quartermaine curse. Did they piss of a gypsy somewhere to be cursed with dismantling of what was the prominent family of Port Charles? Geez... Even Georgie got sucked into the curse and now the possibility of Michael? No doubt, we'll have ghost Michael floating around afterwards. Yeeeesh.

to play devils advocate here...just because Dylan Cash could leave doesn't mean they won't SORAS the character. Spinelli, Maxie, Lulu, Logan and Johnny are all getting a bit long in the tooth as "teens". If he were to leave I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a teenage Michael pop up very quickly.

Jesse McCartney wasn't much older than Dylan Cash is now when JR was SORASED on AMC.

Yeah Luke, that's what I was thinking. But, IMO if they replaced Dylan Cash too quickly they'd risk having a serious backlash from fans... so it would make sense that they would send the character away for a little while and maybe after a year, bring him back w/ a new, older actor in the part.

It could backfire though... they did that with Christie Clark (DAYS Carrie) years ago when she was young. They hired another actress to play teen Carrie, fans got really angry, and shortly afterward they hired Clark back.

GH did that with Maxie. They recast with an older actress. They had her hitting on Lucky and then turned around and recast the original Maxie.

Does'nt michael look adorable in that photo?

you're right sueboo, I forgot about Maxie. Man I remember fans were PO'd about that, and for awhile they weren't happy with what TPTB did with Maxie, but now people love KS and her interpretation of the role.

Bye bye Mykill!

I would love for his character to go off to boarding school and then come back when the other kids are a little older. True he is like 10 years older than every other kid on the show but if they can SORAS Spencer to age 2 in like 3 months than they can SORAS the other kids to be around Michael's age. Also Alexis and Sonny are getting too old to have kids 6 years old.

It's time for Sonny to get smart and agree with Carly to send that boy off to boarding school away from the mob life.

You guys are right SORAS'ing is common in daytime, but usually there is backlash when a young actor has played a role for such a long time, as mentioned when they attempted to replace Christi Clark on Days as Carrie. Dylan has grown up in the role for at least half a decade ala Kim Mc. as Robin, Kirsten Alderson as Starr on OLTL and Clark as Carrie on Days I think only one actor had played the role before Christie's decade run as a kid. There were at least half a dozen kid Junior's on AMC before McCartney, so recasting that role IMO  wouldn't have caused as much backlash.

They keep bringing people back I hope they also bring back Georgie and Alan. The story line with Sam has gone on way too long. The Nick ,Emily stuff is for the crapper, get it over soon. However I do like the Q'S possible storyline. Mike C has turned into a normal teenage smart mouth. The writers need to consider some form of punishment for him, manual labor ,working at the diner, empting bed pans at GH LOL he's crapped on his family long enough now it's his turn to clean up his mess.Alexis and Diane great to watch, give both of them a love interest.

Wouldn't it be great if Georgie's bio dad Frisco Jones used his WSB connections to fake her death until he knew she was safe and then brought her back to Port Charles?

Yes, that would be great Jay...not only could we have our Georgie back, but it would be nice to get some indication that Frisco actually cares about his girls!

If the SORAS-ing of Michael Corinthos is going to take place, I would really like to see him come back turning against his mob roots and living with the Q's. That would be sweet poetic justice for the Q's, who have suffered so many losses at the hands of the mob, and also justice for Sonny and Carly. It's sad to see Dylan cash leave. He is doing a great job. I wish him the best of luck for the future.

I am totally against recasting children. That's one reason why I respect GH cause they don't or didn't recast children as often as other soaps. However, they did it to Loulou -years ahead of her true age. I think it was dreadful.GH is about family and having children grow on the show provides a sense of realism. It doesn't seem so fake. A recast member doesn't have all the history as a veteran does.I 'm glad Robin was never recast. She's the true character you know like Michael is. Let him grow into who he'll become.
And if its allowed for one character it can become routine. Let our voices be heard Save our actors on GH including Dillan Cash!

I'm kinda sad to see Dylan leave, he has done a good job with what he had to work with for his character. Specially being so young and still going to school and just being a lil boy still!! Can't they just cut his hair, make his cheeks a bit more fatter or something, just to make him look older, so he can continue with his role?? Unless he just wants out, then I can understand...
