HomeTVDays of Our LivesDays of Our Lives: Thaao Penghlis Signs Long Term Deal Jamey Giddens May 9, 2008 10 Comments While unconfirmed sources have one DiMera out, another is here to stay, for the next two years anyone. TV Guide Canada’s Nelson Branco is reporting that Thaao Penghlis (Tony) has inked a new two year deal with the embattled sudser. Penghlis was recently nominated for the Emmy for his dual roles of suave Tony and his psychotic cousin Andre last year. There is still no confirmation from Days brass, concerning the fate of Penghlis’s onscreen pop Joe Mascolo (Stefano). 10 Responses tbplayer May 9, 2008 awesome! great actor! Log in to Reply AlistairCrane May 9, 2008 I don’t like him. I really wish Tony and Anna would be sent packing–they add nothing to the show. Penghlis should have never returned after Aremid. It’s been 2 months since we were supposed to get word, but nothing has happened. No news is good news, so… ***///Living In The World Of Soaps Since 1985\\\*** Log in to Reply AlistairCrane May 11, 2008 Even if Days is cancelled soon, it will continue to air through May 2009. Log in to Reply THEBEST May 11, 2008 I highly doubt that Days is going anywhere. Frons would snatch it up if anything. If that happens, I just don’t want it going to half an hr. ***///Living In The World Of Soaps Since 1985\\\*** Log in to Reply Maverick May 11, 2008 Here’s hoping that DAYS isn’t cancelled with this and the emmy noms they gathered. No schuckin’ and jivin’ when dishing about soaps! http://jmbwriter.blogspot.com/ Log in to Reply AlistairCrane May 10, 2008 No. The length of an actor’s contract is not an indication of whether or not the show will continue on. He had a play or pay clause which basically said even if the show got canceled, he would be paid to the end of his contract.
