Listeners to the CBS/Days edition of the Daytime Confidential podcast know one of my favorite daytime actresses is hands down Heather Tom. As ultimate Daddy's girl Victoria Newman-McNeil-Howard on The Young and the Restless, Tom gave us frigid teen bride, conniving Lolita, no nonsense business woman and bonafide romantic heroine, all in one multifaceted character. Tom's final scenes on Y&R where Victoria blasted her father, the Great Victor Newman, about how disappointed she was in him for jeopardizing their family empire with his product placement payola scandal were amazing. I had never before seen anyone so effectively be able to shame the Mighty Mustache, but his daughter, in Tom's capable hands, did just that.
Today Tom is telling truths and shaming devils on another CBS soap, The Bold and the Beautiful. I spent the first half of her tenure on Y&R's sister sudser complaining about how "Heather Tom is being wasted on B&B and should return to Y&R, yada, yada, blah, blah", however once I finally shut my trap and suspended my disbelief (But seriously, doesn't Ashley think Katie looks the teensiest bit familiar?) I found myself riveted by Tom's new character Katie Logan. To read more about my take on Katie and her sure to be "heartbreaking" (for Bridget at least) budding romance with Nick check out my blog at The Bold and the Beautiful.com!
