HomeTVAll My ChildrenSoap alum a “Do Right” Man for Essence Jamey Giddens July 12, 2008 All My Children 4 Comments Essence magazine has released its annual "Do Right Men" list celebrating their picks of 50 sexy, single and successful black men. Making the cut this year is daytime graduate Lamman Rucker (As The World Turns, All My Children). Rucker generated Shemar Moore-esque buzz when Marshall, the cocky, alpha male attorney he played was paired opposite Tamara Tunie’s Jessica on As The World Turns. The P&G sudser made a grievous error when they aborted the liquid hot coupling by having Marshall rape Jessica. All My Children scribes unfortunately must have been paying attention when they decided to write Rucker’s second soap turn as Mimi Frye’s love interest Garrett as a creepy child molester who targeted Mimi’s daughter Danielle. Daytime’s loss has definitely been the big screen’s gain as Rucker has done star turns in Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? and Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns. Congrats! 4 Responses Luke Kerr July 12, 2008 Good for him! His characters got the short end of the stick on AMC and ATWT…I always said that they should have brought his twin back like GH did with Lorenzo. I had waited for Jessica to have a non-Duncan storyline (well just a storyline) for a long time and they gave us rape. Well both Tamara and Lamman had no trouble getting other, better work. Marshall and Jessica could have been an explosive couple for ATWT. Oh well, Lamman has definitely bounced back! Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
