DC #306: Fan Wars

What started out as an "After the Show" discussion turned into our first ever "Fan Wars" episode as Nicki and Melodie did battle with Jamey over Guiding Light's Harley, Cyrus, Marina, Jonathan and Tammy.
Listen as Nicki and Melodie argue that Cyrus should be with Marina and that Harley should never come back while Jamey argues Guiding Light's Cyrus shouldn't be with Marina and that Harley needs to return asap. The discussion gets so hot Luke and Mike barely have a chance to weigh in.

Wait... I'm only 2 minutes into this and I have something to say. Unless, I missed something, the sex between Harley and Cyrus was consensual. Did she tie him down and force him to have sex a la Jack and Julia? If Cyrus, a man that would sleep w/ your aunt while claiming to love you, is the great love of your life than you might as well just kill yourself now because life ain't gonna get much better! If it takes your aunt sleeping w/ your fiance to find out that you were in love w/ an ass, so be it.

I just listened to the podcast.Random thoughts i agree with jamey that marina and susan dont fit as coopers.I have disaree with jamie on two counts i dont see as ben being the love of marinas life he went on a rampage and killed ramona hendon.Gus was the love of harleys life.I agrre with jamey that cyrus should be written off the show.Mel and nicki were saying marina should be writtenas a bitch.The problem with that is you need to have a competent writer someone like chuck pratt who wrote heather locklear as a bitch on melrose place.

I'm sorry but the quest for youth is killing daytime. They keep putting these little girls in love with these irredeemable men on five days a week while the vets languish. When are TIIC going to realize it isn't working? Especially when one half of the couple the refocus a 70 year old show around decides to quit, what then? I know, re-release a novel about the character instead of write good stories for the vets.

Marina needs an older man. She is not as immature as Daisy who needs a younger man like Rafe. Marina is a detective she knows right from wrong shes mature and needs an older man.

wow I got really heated in this whole thing lol I think I had a migraine afterwards and needed a stiff scotch and a sedative hehe. as for your comment jamie about marina not knowing right from wrong due to being with cyrus well cyrus was more than just a jewel thief. In fact he was such a layered character at one point which is why I grew to love the character so much. Yes he's a jewel thief but he's also saved Marina's life more than once so she had reasons to fall in love with him and I don't see any wrong in it. But she does always try to do the right thing.

I'm sorry but there was no future for the kissing cousins as long as they were... well, kissing cousins. If I want to see relatives getting it on I'll watch Deliverance thank you very much. I can see it now. Tammy giving birth to a baby w/ a foot on his head who's not only his mother and father's child but there nephew and his own cousin. Puh-leezze! Unless, they had made Cassie and Reva no longer related that pairing wasn't going to make it.

uhh since they are half cousins and are only connected by one person (grandma Sarah) they wouldnt be disfigured at all and there are HUNDREDS of possible storylines. like Tammy's daddys issues with Rob (( if they didnt kill him)) Her going to be a teacher her being preggers. Sarah custody battle or finding out sarah wasn't his or how about them reading a phonebook I dont care just get them on my screen. They are a money couple.

it would be gross if they knew eachother since birth and grew up exchanging christmas gifts and giving eachother whirlies but they didnt they met when they were both 18- 19 young adults and tammy didnt know at the time he was her cousin. and plus its a soap opera its not like any jammy fan is secretly lusting over there cousin right now.

You can only use ignorance as an excuse for so long. Okay, she didn't know but then she did and just because you didn't grow up w/ someone and share memories doesn't make them your relative any less than someone you did grow up with. Is there no law against cousins marrying? LOL! God bless you Jammylove but, in my ever so humble opinion, ewwwwwah! I would have much preferred that they had fought against there feelings and then learn that they weren't related. Also, that little snot Jonathan knew the truth and used that poor girl... sleeping with her and knowing they were related. That was disgraceful!

For me the ruckus about Todd and Marty is the fact that they were never in love. Roger and Holly were married and had a very, very toxic marriage. He was the bad boy she shouldn't be with, and Ed was the good, noble man, but she couldn't get enough of damaged, sexy Roger. I know rape is rape, but Todd was a complete stranger who raped Marty with several other men. Roger abd Holly were a complicated, tortured on again off again couple. It wasn't written for sport. Holly knew it was wrong to lov eRoger but she couldn't help herself and she was in full possesion of her mental capacities. She made a choice to still love him. Marty would never choose to be with Todd if she was in her right mind.

I'm from Texas and proud of it! I'm listening now, wow I sound really really mean! I'm sorry Jamey! Harley just gets me upset! I stand by everything I said though. Cyrus and Marina shoud be together. Cyrus didn't have a change of mind about Marina, until he got the senses knocked out of him in the building collapse. It turned him into the sad sorry sack of bones we saw for months. Now, he's finally getting back to himself. The Real Cyrus!
