Normally I start out with the good news, but since it's Halloween, I'm starting out with the wicked news! The tricks are on General Hospital this week who not only tied for 3rd spot overall in the household ratings but have been beaten down to 7th spot in total viewers! General Hospital lost 64,000 viewers compared to the previous week, leaving them with a total viewer base of only 2,627,000. The treat this week is with All My Children, who saw an increase of 237,000 more viewers compared to the previous week and are now ABC Daytime's leading soap opera in total viewers with a total viewer base of 2,743,000. Who would have thunk it?

3 AMC 2.1

3 ATWT 2.1

The best news however is for The Young and the Restless, who had the best week out of all of the soaps. They saw the biggest increase of viewers with 328,000 more tuning in compared to the previous week. This lead to their 0.3 increase in households...well done! In fact, all of the CBS soap operas did very well seeing increases across the board. As the World Turns saw 188,000 more viewers checking into Oakdale compared to the previous week leading to a 0.2 increase in the household ratings. The Bold and the Beautiful has 116,000 more people watching the show compared to the previous week and Guiding Light still was on the positive side with a modest 4,000 more viewers tuning in compared to the previous week.

NBC's remaining soap opera, Days Of Our Lives was the only other soap besides General Hospital to see a drop in viewership. They lost 44,000 more viewers compared to the previous week. And finally, ABC's other daytime soap, One Life To Live, stayed at the same level in the household ratings with a 2.0, but did see a nice increase of 55,000 more viewers tuning in compared to the previous week.
