Days of Our Lives Spoilers
Secrets and lies abound this week on Days of Our Lives. Melanie is hiding something, Sami is hiding a big something (but really, not for much longer) and Theo is just hiding in general. What else is in store? Grab a cuppa and settle in for this week's Preview from Denial Island (October 6 - 10).
What’s up with Nick? This week, in an uncharacteristic move, Nick gets himself arrested for DUI. He’s feeling guilty about something too – a fact that doesn’t escape Chelsea’s notice when she visits him in jail (whoo! Chelsea’s visiting Nick in jail!). So what is Nick feeling guilty about? Trent’s death. Did he kill Trent? Unlikely, but we know he had an encounter with him before he died. The bruised knuckles and guilty expression were a bit of a giveaway. Plus we all know Nick is a lover, not a fighter.
Melanie drops some evidence in Trent’s murder. That wallet she lifted from Pimp Daddy Trent drops our of her bag in front of Philly K (Philip). Later, somehow, this wallet makes its way into Stephanie’s purse, which Max later finds. Melanie recounts her version of events from the night Trent died (expect more flashbacks), but her innocent act doesn’t convince Bo. It’s not convincing me either.
Max wont have a good week. Not only does he have to continually play big brother to Melanie (maybe he’s beginning to see why Trent kept her in France), he’s also going have his room searched by the Salem PD, and be thrown in jail when they find the bloody t-shirt. Never fear Max fans, his incarceration wont be for long.
The pregnancy saga continues. Sami is still deciding whether to tell EJ about the baby. After spending the night at the Horton cabin with Lucas (they share a bed, but nothing happens until morning - Sami kisses Lucas thinking he’s EJ then yells at him for it), the two continue to talk about what Sami should do. Lucas thinks she should tell EJ and soon – she is starting to show! Let's not forget that Stefano lives at DiMansion and he sees everything...
How long can EJ stay clueless? Not for much longer thank goodness. **Nicole Alert** Only Nicole reveals her pregnancy news this week – and Sami overhears. Nicole is waiting for a sign from EJ, but when she doesn't get what she wants (ie. EJ to choose her), she shies away from telling him about her pregnancy. She goes to talk to newest BFF Jawn, who basically gives her an ultimatum – tell him or he will. Bet she wasn’t expecting that lol.

Thanks Brooke!
I'm a new viewer to Days -- less than 3 months, so I don't have all the histories and past relationships to texturize my impressions.
Jawn Black -- I don't know John Black but I am finding Jawn to be delightful. He is witty and sexy and very capable.
Sami -- never in a good mood. She is a quintessential drama queen who can't take time to think because she is too busy emoting.
EJ -- delicious to look at not a great thinker.
Lucas -- try as he might to be independent, Sami has him whipped.
Philip -- in way over his head. How he can be so well-bedded and still not have a clue I am still trying to figure out. Money?
Max -- he out Bradyes the Bradys. All heart. He can be his own worst enemy.
Melanie -- morally bankrupt just like dear ole dad. Surely someone can see through her act.
Nicole, Chloe, Stephanie -- fun to watch but very little depth to them.
Nick -- buy a clue to go with those x,y,z's, little buddy.
Chelsea -- too young to be in the middle of a love triangle with her grandmother and the gorgeous doctor.
Bo and Hope, Steve and Kayla, and Marlena -- yawn. I know they are vintage characters but they need some reinventing. I don't object to watching them but they are just a little too good to be true.
Stefano and Victor -- entertaining caricatures of their younger selves.
Lexie and Abe -- not featured enough to leave an impression.
I enjoy the show but can't always watch due to time restraints. Hope it doesn't go off the air.
For a new viewer you summed the show up better than I can these days and I've been watching for over 25 years.
PS - love the Nicole Alert Brooke!
You have saved many lives.......
LOL snowi... I promised some Nicole warnings to angmc so you're all reaping the benefits :D
BROOKE RULES!!!! *bows to Brooke*
"EJ -- delicious to look at not a great thinker."
Do you see what Dena has done to EJ?? EJ was the smartest guy in Salem since he's been on the show...until Dena. She has dumbed him so badly that new viewers think he's as smart as a box of rocks. No wonder James hasn't been happy with the writing. Old EJ would have already figured out Sami was pregnant and he lives with her now!!
Give Dena lemons and she'll make lemon rind soup or something equally bad :?
Engradypind: go to Youtube and look for some old EJ clips..Then you'll realize that he was as smart and clever as he is good looking (if that's possible!)
I know ang - I was crying when I read that! Look what you've done Dena - you've turned my sexy, intelligent EJ into a Ken Doll!!!! No wonder I can hardly bare to bring myself to watch this show anymore!!!
You people seem to forget that while, yes, EJ may have been turned into a "Ken Doll", sexy, intelligent EJ was bargaining w/ someone else's life to get nookie! So even past writers have painted this character in a not so flattering light.

Unflattering, evil, BSC - yes.. Stupid - no.
As evil as EJ was written for the 6 month period from Nov06-May07 he was never stupid. To just turn him into another pretty boy on the soaps is just plain wrong when you know the potential is there for something great.
Couldn't have said better myself angmc!
I understand what you're saying angmc but what I'm saying is is it better to be written as dumb or a rapist. People blame Higley for the awful writing of EJ but Sheffer didn't do any better by the character. Higley may be no writing genius but she's not the worst thing to ever happen to the character of EJ.

I totally understand what you're saying Season but can't anyone arrive at a happy medium with this character? Most EJ fans I know want the intelligent but devious character to return. If the Ken or Dallas(EJ's name for Austin) version of EJ continues I'm not sure James will be renewing his contract in a rush.
I like EJ. I have no problem w/ him being devious and intelligent w/ a tender side to him. That's the stuff that complex and interesting characters are made of. I was just watching an episode of Dexter, a show where the lead character is a serial killer and you root for him! Now, I'm not saying I want EJ to be Ted Bundy but there is nothing wrong w/ him being a bad boy w/ a good heart. I can understand your frustration w/ the way he is being written. I hate when characters are dumbed down and you don't recognize the character that you loved.
