HomeTVDirty Sexy MoneyDirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies & Eli Stone Have “Effectively Been Canceled.” Luke Kerr November 21, 2008 Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies 49 Comments This a sad, sad day. Michael Ausiello is reporting that "ABC has opted not to order additional episodes of Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone for this season." At this point I’m so bummed I’m just going to leave it at that. 49 Responses angmc November 21, 2008 NOOOOOOOOO!!!! Not Eli Stone!!! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!! What now..more reality shows?!? Log in to Reply GusJaq November 21, 2008 NO!! I love Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money. ABC could have at least let them finish the season. Log in to Reply Jorpa November 21, 2008 ABC hates us. I’m surprised Private Practice isn’t in there too. DSM is much better now and they have to take it away??? If it weren’t for Grey’s Anatomy and Lost, I’d boycott ABC. Hell, what am I thinking? They’ll probably be cancelled next week. This sucks OUTLOUD!!! Log in to Reply Luke Kerr November 21, 2008 Private Practice has been renewed and is moving to Thursday night’s after Grey’s. Log in to Reply Jorpa November 21, 2008 I’d rather see DSM. Log in to Reply Luke Kerr November 21, 2008 Me 2 but it doesn’t give ABC the crossover possibilities that PP does. Log in to Reply GusJaq November 21, 2008 You think there’s any chance another network will pick up the shows? Log in to Reply Luke Kerr November 21, 2008 The ratings are to low…PD dropped 27% and DSM dropped 15% last night. I could be mistaken but I think Knight Rider had a bigger audience than they did. Log in to Reply Jamey Giddens November 21, 2008 First Deidre, now the Darlings. The Soapocalype Continues. Log in to Reply season1217 November 21, 2008 Actually, I think Pushing Daisies beat Knight Rider this week. I know it beat it in the 18-49 category. Overall, I’m not sure. Prayfully, a cable network will pick it up. Log in to Reply ssjohn November 21, 2008 Just a note, Private practice hasn’t been renewed, it was just picked up for a full season. And also the likely hood of any of these shows getting ‘saved’ is slim Log in to Reply season1217 November 21, 2008 In the great words of Florida Evans, “Damn, damn, DAMN!” Log in to Reply season1217 November 21, 2008 There’s a hole in the world like a great black pit And the vermin of the world inhabit it And its morals aren’t worth what a pig could spit And it goes by the name of network executives! Log in to Reply ange-i-am November 21, 2008 I love Eli Stone. This sucks. —————– Hey, you got a lot of weight on your shoulder. So find somebody to come home to, somebody you can trust and believe in. -Maximus Log in to Reply Simple C November 21, 2008 Wow. I watch none of these shows but still think they are messing up. What are they going to do? Put on Lost five days a week??? Log in to Reply Chez_44 November 21, 2008 What is wrong with American TV executives? Come on in Australia we were told DSM was the number show in the US? And well from this it seems it wasn’t We never got Pushing Daisies despite advertising and well I’ve never heard og Eli Stone I wonder what will be next? Log in to Reply Jorpa November 21, 2008 In the great words of Florida Evans, “Damn, damn, DAMN!” ~~~~~~~~~~~ She said that when James died. That’s exactly how I feel now. _________________ What are they going to do? Put on Lost five days a week?? ~~~~~~~~~~ I can live with that! Log in to Reply ssjohn November 21, 2008 Lol i know you can P And this is just what networks do, it sucks but its a numbers game (for now) and the numbers suck so they have to get rid of them It sucks but if you keep up with TV show ratings you kinda knew it was coming. Log in to Reply Lewis0817 November 21, 2008 How Could Dirty Sexy Money be cancelled!!! The only “True” primetime sudser gets canned, the darling family was amazing! What really ticks me off ABC cancels it for what … hmmm ANOTHER cop show The Unusuals!!! WHY there is CBS for that, there is way to many cop and detective drama’s, they are almost all the same, and if they arn’t they get cancelled, the only network that has good drama’s Cancels them all, First it was Cashmere Mafia last year now this I am ready to quit ABC to bad i love Brothers & Sisters and Ugly Betty, should have cancelled DH it is awful i dont know how anyone can watch it anymore, after last season and the jump it is unbearable to watch and i watched it since day one. Log in to Reply season1217 November 21, 2008 I also know death is coming but I’d like to postpone it! LOL! I just want more time, more time! Log in to Reply Sean November 21, 2008 WOO HOO….. with Daisies gone that means that Bryan Fuller can head back over to NBC and get back working on Heroes with Tim Kring. Log in to Reply ssjohn November 21, 2008 you suck Sean lol, though it would be nice to have a good season of Heroes for a change… @Lewis– Actually the reason it got canceled wasn’t for another show, I hate that being a ‘reason’ fans use, yea something will replace it, but the reason it got canned was because its ratings have dropped since the series premier, it’s lucky we even got a second season. Since its series premier it has lost 1/2 the viewers, that is why DSM got canned, and ABC did give it a shot, yea they could have done more but its over. Now Scifi needs to do a Lost Room series lol Log in to Reply Bangel Angle November 21, 2008 Oh my. I loved Dirty Sexy Money. It wasn’t too long ago when it was a big hit. ABC just needed it a little more time. Now, I will never know if Nick’s little girl becomes a Darling like she wanted too. Log in to Reply nathan77 November 21, 2008 WHAT! No more Dirty Sexy Money???? That’s one of my favorite shows, and I never miss it! I am so sad. Log in to Reply blackjack21 November 21, 2008 so much for creativity and superior performances. i think alot of shows are still suffering from the strike. Log in to Reply Revafan001 November 21, 2008 They said “Lip Stick Jungle” was canncelled and now its not… Also I think becuase ABC moved DSM and some other shows to a different day/time, is the reason why the ratings failed. GL/AMC/ATWT/GH/B&B/Y&R Fans!!!!!!!!! Log in to Reply elbugten November 21, 2008 NOOOOOOO!!!!!! I tried to like PD, I really did, but I couldn’t get into it. But DSM was so much better than some of the other shows out there! Why can’t SoapNet pick it up and run it instead of repeats of The OC ad nauseum? Will we ever know who killed Dutch and how far is Nick willing to go for the Darlings? Will Lisa and Jeremy have a hot affair? What was Simon really up to? Wah! I want answers to these questions! Log in to Reply kerfuffles November 21, 2008 I’ll add another NOOOOOOOO….not Dirty Sexy Money!! I love that show! Smart writing, great cast. What a waste. Log in to Reply Karissa November 21, 2008 Are the network executives drink some crazy kool aid to cancel so many good shows in favor for stupid reality shows. Look I am over 15 I don’t care about American Idol, Dancing with the Stars. I admit I watch the game show but I just want to try and get on. If I see one more reality show I am going to throw my tv out the window Log in to Reply HarleyFanForever23 November 21, 2008 OMG! I’m just in shock right now! I’m not a regular viewer of any of these shows, but they all looked incredibly good. I watched PD once and loved it. I thought about watching DSM, but now why bother? I can’t believe these are canceled. I’m bummed. I really hope Private Practice gets saved ’cause I think it’s better than Grey’s. —Kate (or Katie) Lover of Ricky Paull Goldin & Beth Ehlers!! Log in to Reply SusieQ November 21, 2008 Well this just sucks! Frakking ABC!!! Well, i guess I’m back to just watching ABC soaps until they put the final season of Scrubs on. At this rate I’m going to have to start reading again -lol! Log in to Reply podcastjunkie November 21, 2008 Goodbye Ned the piemaker, we hardly knew you Log in to Reply THEBEST November 21, 2008 ABC is letting the girls HAVE IT!!!! ***///My life as a soap fan is on life support, waiting for a miracle…\\\*** Log in to Reply elle November 21, 2008 DSM is one of my favorite shows. It’s such a shame that the network doesn’t give shows a chance. How about a different timeslot? It’s a brilliantly written show, creative, such a talented cast- I’m sad. Log in to Reply mamalo November 21, 2008 Have TIIC ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? They announce that the shows are on the verge of canceling and then wonder why the numbers don’t improve. Nobody new wants to tune into a show that they know will be canceled in a few episodes anyway. There are plenty of cable networks that would be happy with the numbers that PD was pulling in. Here’s hoping that one of them is smart enough to pick it up. I, for one, am broken hearted at the prospect of no more Olive and Emerson Cod. Log in to Reply blackjack21 November 21, 2008 mamalo- amen! why would anyone try to watch now? i was going to start watching my own worst enemy, but now what’s the point? abc new call letters should be abcux! Log in to Reply Regan Cellura November 21, 2008 I can’t believe DSM got axed. I love that show… it has an incredible cast and writing. All of which I’m sure had high price tags and contributed to the cancellation. I was a fan of Pushing Daisies but it was not a show that kept me wanting more so I can see why the ratings had dropped. Private Practice has been getting much better. I think the move to thursdays will help it alot. Plus Addison is crossing back over to Greys again and I am sure that will help as well. Log in to Reply J Bernard Jones November 21, 2008 Tale as old as time True as it can be When people don’t watch And ratings dive and fall Shows leave unexpectedly… Log in to Reply timepass November 21, 2008 Well 3 shows I liked, too bad so sad! ABC is cancelling the only shows I watch on their Network, so long ABC! Log in to Reply ahanshew November 21, 2008 I love DSM. I am very disappointed that it has been cancelled. I was a huge fan of Peter Krause from Six Feet Under and that is what got me to watch DSM from the start. This show is fantastic! The fact that Knight Rider is on the air is infuriating, but NBC has sh*t ratings and this is a winner for them! Log in to Reply LIASONADDICT November 21, 2008 This is the worst news ever!!!! i’m gonna miss brian darling i hope dsm is saved that is the best soap on abc right now Log in to Reply Beth November 21, 2008 Pushing Daisies was one of the few shows I watched that could put a smile on my face regularly. Eli Stone had the great Victor Garber in it, more than enough reason to watch. Now we’ll be subjected to Wife Nanny, or whatever the hell crap reality show ABC pulls out of it’s hindquarters. I’ll give ABC credit for being consistent: They disappoint me during the day AND night now. Very few shows to that. Log in to Reply AlistairCrane November 22, 2008 Sucks, but I’m glad that Bryan has already thought ahead to comic books and DVD movies. Hopefully a comic book series can come out in ’09, followed by a DVD movie in ’10 or ’11 like Dead Like Me. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
