If ABC and SoapNet both declined airing the Daytime Emmy Awards, I highly doubt that Lifetime will, for it is owned by Disney as well.
If I had to wager which network will air the program, I would place my bet on the TVGuide Channel. During the past few years, they've started to cover award shows, and one of their red carpet hosts is a soap star herself, Lisa Rinna. Plus, this past summer, the network did two different programs, counting down both the hottest actors and the hottest actresses in daytime. While it might not be much, it's almost more soap coverage than SoapNet has provided daytime fans with this entire year, and SoapNet is supposed to be the network devoted to anything and all things soap opera related.
But, yeah, it's not. So, with that said, right here, right now (and also back last week on The Road to Nowhere), I'm throwing my hat in for the TVGuide Network. We'll see what happens.

Hey y'all!
I've been a listener for a long time since the beginning. I watch four shows on three networks that are american soaps Y&R, GH, ATWT, and Days. I love these shows muchly and I really don't have a favorite actor this week from them....maybe Sebastian Roche's kidnapping Sam and blowing up the ship that was pretty damn cool though you didn't see the damn explosion.
But you see, being an american I like to look at foreign things, and I have a soap that I watch religiously, it's called Hollyoaks and it's probably one of the best shows I've seen it covers everything from Drugs to gay people (I have my own Luke/Noah formerly in John Paul McQueen and Kieron Hobbs (who sadly was killed off....that's a story for a different comment)
But last week they held a funeral for one of the McQueen family named Tina, she wasn't my favorite to say the least but the way that Hollie-Jay Bowes played everything out was fantastic. She's the youngest of seven children. But the girl she plays Michaela McQueen was fantastic. She's the most caring of the McQueens, and she funeral together on her own while her sisters Jacqui, Carmel, and Mercedes were being mopey and not worth my time! She's siding with her mother even after the church blowing up and her dearest older son Niall (who's name escapes me but he's my second choice) killing off one of them. I think you would like this soap and it took me a long time to get caught up but I did and this week's best stuff was done by Hollie-Jay Bowes.
Oh I can say there are a few dishonorable mentions though....(especially that girl who plays Eden get her the hell off my screen please) And frankly as much as I LOVE in big cap letters Dusty Donovon don't you think he's moving on with the none other then annoying Josie Driver? I'm sorry I'm not digging the story..... that's all I got.

Knowing how times have changed, the Emmys whould pry end up on the internet. It bugs me that SoapNet won't
air it, but hey, look who runs SoapNet, Brian Frons. Need I say more!

I don't get that Soapnet won't the thing for an hour. I think Frons is the biggest idiot on the planet and he needs to be fired because he is not trying to save the soaps. He is destroying it.

Hey guys, great show!
I have to say, I think Steve Burton actually gets too much credit sometimes. Yes, SB did a good job at showing Jason's concern for Robin, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. IMO, we're all so used to Jason having a flat tone to his voice and his face being virtually expressionless that when he finally does show *some* emotion SB gets over praised for it.

@Lyndsi
I love Hollyoaks, but in no way was JP/Kieron 'Nuke' big, they had their own little following but i think 'McDean' (JP/Craig) was their Nuke, I mean come on Noah is SO Craig, just written crappier.
I do kinda miss John Paul, not sad about losing Mr."Im not GAY" and Kieron >.> i wanted Kieron dead from the moment i laid eyes on him, lol i was so happy when spoilers came out he was going to die, then there was possibly rewrite and he was saved and then he actually died lol.
Michaela............hum, i agree with you on everything, thou the girl can be really self centered at points.
I HATE that the McQueens have overtaken hollyoaks, i mean ever since i started watching and they came on they are the Entire show, every single character on that show has somehow or another interacted or had a Mcqueen in their storyline.
I am ready for a little break lol.
So Glad the Ashworths are getting a front burner storyline again, they deserve it, and i missed them lol.
Also the show seems to be retooling it self around the collage again and with the new EP coming in i am interested in seeing what happens, considering we are loosing a handful of people as well.
But if we are going to start playing the international POW game then this is going to take a bit lol.
Each international Show has its own list of POW's I don't really think you can just give it to Hollyoaks when there is AMAZING stuff going on in Eastenders ((WHO RAN OVER MAX!?!?!)), Some decent stuff on Coronation Street, Home and Away is always Ace and the pregnancy storyline alone would give Neighbours a few choices.
Anyways come join us in the forums and discuss Hollyoaks (& other soaps), there are also links in the forums for places to find those shows, and outside of Emmerdale, Doctors and Out of the blue we should be able to help you figure out who's who and all the current storylines.
Also to the DC gang, watch International soaps, they are awesome (Naught Nicki, Home and Away is calling your name! )

I disagree about Steve. He plays Jason as emotionless and stone-faced because that's part of the character's throughline. He was permanently brain damaged, and unlike some soap characters who experience similar trauma and then it is forgotten by the writers and the actors, Steve has made a conscious choice to keep Jason's injuries as part of the story. If anything I think he gets lamented more than any other actor on daytime.

Jamey: Oh I agree that Jason's lack of emotion and Stone Cold-ness is part of who the character is now, and SB is right to play him that way...absolutely. But I think because of that, whenever Jason does show any emotion it's such a big deal that fans will over praise SB's acting skills - as if SB is doing some amazing work, when really he isn't doing *that* much. IMO, he's a fine actor, but not great (though to be fair, I think the nature of the part would make it hard to tell if he's a great actor.)
Lyndsi & ssjohn: I can't speak about the other international soaps, but EastEnders is my absolute favorite soap right now - US soaps don't even compare to it.

I know it's hard to like people who stole other people away....though I am glad that John Paul went with Craig....especially after that story though I have to say what Mercedes did to her grandmother was the funniest thing I've ever seen on the show (besides yesterday's episode when Michaela got drunk and Mike Barnes saved her ass!)
I've been starting Corination Street...it's a good show from what I've seen of it. I wish they would show it on BBCA like they used to do for Hollyoaks (hence my hookage especially of McDean....they stopped showing that after Craig left kinda depressed)
I agree with you on the Ashworth front, Hannah and the dude from the MTV awards (fake as hell by the way) was great....Neville buying the pub was fantastic, and the whole Gilly/Leila thing was fantastic too....though I think Josh got the raw end of the deal on Amy's behalf though, shouldn't have gotten up in Ste's face like that....
Another good story is the whole thing with Justin/Ste/Dom....if you've seen this you will know that this is the funniest thing on Hollyoaks to date (at least since I started watching back in June of last year) I would talk about this on the forums but I forgot I don't have an account on the forums and it won't let me make one it makes me sad a little bit. But that's my views on everything.....though I think Newt and Lauren should lay off each other a bit....I mean they are fifteen they don't need to be stealing money from Mr. Roy (I found that incredibly funny, Ravi didn't graduate, Leila's lying about what she's doing in school, Anita's like Lauren and Newt, and Mrs. Roy is frakking hilarious and listens to ABBA at work! okay....enough is enough going to go watch more Corrie now!
