I thankful for

5-The View-I love the fighting and the bitching between the women and informing the viewers.

4-GH:NS 2-This is how you write a soap, Guza and Co.

3-the great performances on OLTL,Y&R,DAYS, and B&B-When the show was good, the acting was spotted on.

2-The old Y&R is back-The show is back when you give a funeral to a icon who been on back in the day is still kicking butt and bringing back the essences of Y&R that was missing on the "LML' term.

I love the website and thank you for telling the truth about what is wrong with daytime dramas and why it is dying.

My honorable mentions is Erica Kane, the writers strike that got rid of untalented hacks, Ron C. is back, the old Phyllis on Y&R is back, and hoping for a miracle that the industry will get back on its feet, but that's a dream that will not be happening.

5. I'll steal one of Mike's, LOL. All the actors speaking out for better writing. Hell even Nadia B. from Days is doing it!

4. Edmund and Philip coming back!

3. Daytime Confidential, calling Daytime on their shit.

2. James Scott. Days might be a broken toilet and Dena might have neutered EJ, but James keeps me hoping for something better.

1. Young and the Restless. Showing the rest of these fools how it's done! Nick and Sharon kissing in Paris, Katherine/Marge, Gloria being put in the corner where she belongs, Billy Miller: AMC, what were you thinking!, and Victor!

6. Luke and Noah are finally on ATWT again. Jake is the hottest guy on soaps. He is so sweet, and deserves much more airtime. I love drunk Luke, he is so hateful and wonderful at the same time:)

5. I have started watching Y & R due to this site and the feedback I have read from other viewers. I love the Kay/Marge story, and cannot wait for Jill to get heated as Katherine's will bequests play out.

4. Andrea Evans returns to OLTL. She has had a lackluster storyline, but I have loved every minute she has graced my screen again.

3. I am thankful I stopped watching Days a few years ago. I would not want to be forced to see Marlena Evans be forced off the show. Deidre Hall rocks, and deserves so much better. Time to move to Y & R.

2. Marty and Todd "together" again on OLTL. Rapemance aside, their scenes together and the aftermath of her finding out the truth has been incredible. Susan Haskell has been giving the performance of her career, even better than the first time around (as Marty). I cannot wait until she gets her revenge on Todd. Hell hath no fury...

1. Daytime Confidential has given me so much joy this past few months. Thank you for the frequent updates throughout the day.

Thank you guys for all you do. Love the podcasts and website. And thanks for turning me onto Y&R. But I'll watch Days until it's no more.

I am thankful for

5. The fabulousness that is the Kane Women -from La Kane to her her two fiesty girls, Bianca and Kendall, they kick butt, fend off hordes of potential love interests and never break a nail.

4. The fabulousness that is the Kramer Women...They may go a little too far at times, but they have passion and they arent afraid to go for what they want. Like their counterparts in PV, they tough AND beautiful.

3. All the beautiful men of daytime that regularly take off their shirts and show men across american exactly HOW they should kiss their woman! HUBBA HUBBA!!

2. The fabulousness of all my on-line buds at DC, but especially my fellow members of TEAM SAM. The sound you hear is the ice in my glass drinking a toast to you one and all.

1. The kick butt women of GH - Anna Devane and SuperSam. If we hadnt already learned that Alexis sired SweetSam, I would swear she had to be a Devane. Both women are super, sexy and strong - they could seriously give Emma Peel and Laura Croft a run for their money. I only wish that it had been Anna that came to rescue Sam out on the boat - hey Anna, let me introduce you to the guy that shot Robin. hey Sam, its just you, me and this sleezebag out in the middle of nowhere, have you ever heard the saying karma is a bitch. Those two would have GONE TO TOWN. Now if only Supersam could drive her double dealing nemisis Lizard out of town like Anna did to Holly back in the day.

5. Ausileen not being seen on Y&R for a full month (sorry Jamey!).

5. Jack Abbott – for his seemingly absolute return to consistent villainy if for no other reason than the potential downfall of Goofy Gloria, the Reigning Monarch of the Land of Overstaying Her Welcome

4. Genie Francis – the only daytime actress I love more than her is Susan Lucci. Whenever I can watch her playing Laura Spencer, even if it’s temporary, is a blessing.

3. Charles Pratt, Jr. – for writing well enough to have me watching AMC more than once a week for the first time in several years and that includes recognizing the superb chemistry of David Canary and Susan Lucci and the return of Vincent Irizarry.

2. Susan Lucci – I will always be thankful for Ms. Susan until the day I die, and possibly into my next life.

1. Nelson Branco – for his consistently great daytime television reporting and insight and having the balls to call to not only call for Brian Frons’ firing but for stating the case as to why, very, very well.

Two Honorable Mentions:
1. Jeanne Cooper – for being the reigning Grande Dame of daytime television and particularly for her Emmy worthy performance at her character’s (Madge that is) funeral.

2. Victoria Rowell – for giving one of the best damn interviews I’ve ever heard.

Also, I want to be thankful for daytime is for bringing Snoop Dogg to OLTL. It was the best episode OLTL every did and the cast look like they have a great time on the set with Snoop and it got mainstream press out of Snoop's appearance on the show.

I'm thankful for:

- Daytime Confidential, and especially Luke for asking me to join the team as a ATWT news blogger.

- Van Hansis and Jake Silbermann for being so nice and down to earth to their fans.

- The actors and actresses in Daytime. Showing up at work everyday when there's so much behind the scenes drama going on.

- Like Mike, I'm thankful for drunk Luke. He's an awful and mean drunk (comparing Noah to his psycho homophobic father, calling Alison a porn queen) but Van is doing such a great job in this story. I'm also thankful for drunk Luke because it gave us shirtless Luke. Too bad grandpa happy pants was the one who got to see it and not Noah.

- Also thankful for the Dutch soap Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden (Good Times Bad Times). The last couple of seasons have been weak and full of characters I didn't care about. Ratings dropped and what have TBTB done? They've actually improved the show. Shocker! They got rid of a couple of useless characters and replaced them with trained actors (and not hair models). They also got new writers who have been doing great stuff. They introduced a whole new family and they already feel like they belong there with the other families. It's a show that I can't wait to tune in for every day.

My 5 things to be thankful for on Daytime are:

5. The View: I love the Hot Topics section and I love it when it's the ladies against Elizabeth. The bitch fight arguments make this 3rd shifter stay up WAAAY past her bedtime.

4. Daytime Vets: Without Erica Slazak, Robin Strasser, Eric Breaden, Meloney Thomas Scott, Robert S. Woods, Peter Reckal ect, ect, the soaps are still here. You can have all your hair models coming on the soaps for less money and stupid storylines, but I'd take a vet with iconic soap history anyday!

3. Andrew Miller and Ron Carliviti: Andrew Miller is an extrodinary writer and Imaginary Bitches is the best thing on the web. I wish IB whould go to primetime because that whould be on my DVR! And to Ron Carliviti, you have took my beloved show OLTL and put your spin and turned it back to one of the best shows on daytime . Unfortunatly after the 40th Anniversary eposode the show became unglued. I still think Frons had a BIIG part in the unglued part. Bypass Frons and do your own thing. We beleave in you Ron.

2. Spixie and Todds New Scar: Spixie on GH is the cutest couple in daytime. They are the only thing next to Scrubs that Guza is doing right. And despite the fact that I really don't care for John on OLTL, I cheered when he put back that scar on Todd Mannings face.

1. Everyone at Daytime Confidential: Before I found this site almost a year ago, the only other site that I was interested in was the American Idol site. But the site has kept me hooked from the moment I signed up. All of you at DC are fantastic at laying down the law about soaps. Luke, you are the best mediator, Jamie, ohh Jamie, you are the spice of podcasts, Naughty Nikki, I love your naughty way of keeping soap guys hot. Belinda, Mike and the rest of the ladies rock! DC is the best site on the web! I really enjoy your podcasts and I love hearing about breaking news from you all at DC because I hear it from you before the mags come out with it!

HM: Susan Lucci, for dealing with the storylines she has been getting. Myrtle, it was an honor watching such a beloved character as Myrtle. When the actress passed I teared up, like I did when the actress who played Lila on GH passed, because it's ledgendary actresses like them who played characters that viewers loved regaurdless if you watched that show or not. You just knew who they were.

I am thankful for Bob Guza and his amazing style of writing, and most of all i am thankful for Molly Burnet! because we all know she is the biggest thing to hit soaps since moving to television.

Totally agree on the Young and Restless comments. It's back to the show I remember watching when growing up. And like one of the podcasters said in this episode, it's so good that you hate the weekends because Y&R won't be on.

I just registered here, but have been listening to your podcasts for quite a while now and I constantly find myself checking back to see if a new podcast is up. I agree with almost everything said here (of course, we all have our own opinions).

I'm very thankful for the creation of this site. It gives me and a lot of other fans the satisfaction to know that maybe those writers out there know what the fans want (how else would the cast of Y&R know about Victoria Rowell's wonderful interview?). Please keep up the good work guys...

The thing that I'm mostly thankful for is the amazing turnover at Y&R. Maria Arena Bell and Hogan Sheffer are doing amazing work for the writing team of the soap, while the production of the show has changed for the better ever since Rauch took over. This is the dream team for the moment and I'm actually free to see that I can't wait to see what happens on Y&R next.

All other soaps, OLTL aside, are just hopeless. They need their "dream team" to save them.

And since I don't know if you plan to do a podcast of "My wishes for 2009," here are a few mine for Y&R:
- Bring the wonderful and amazing Tricia Cast on contract! (I would cry if that happened)
- Try to work something out with Victoria Rowell (yeah, like that's going to happen.... a man can dream)
