HomeTVThe Young and The RestlessI am Abbott, Hear Me Roar Jamey Giddens December 4, 2008 The Young and The Restless 6 Comments Okay this has to stop. My heart simply can’t take it. It’s like the effects of yo-yo dieting. Everytime I sincerely think I am done with this genre, something like The Young and the Restless heiress Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) announcing that she, not Lil’ Billy (Billy Miller), not Cruella de Bardwell (Judith Chapman) or Gary Ewing (Ted Shackelford) and no, not even Smilin’ Jack (Peter Bergman) will be running Jabot Cosmetics, happens. The Abbotts regaining control of Jabot, or "Reinventing The Abbotts" as I like to call it, is hands down the best corporate takeover storyline in well over a decade. I haven’t had this much fun watching a sexy blonde halt a board meeting since Vicky (Anne Heche) helped Iris (Carmen Duncan) wrest control of Cory Publishing from Rachel (Victoria Wyndham) on Another World. Davidson was just as fierce, electrifying and on fire as the dialogue she was delivering. The scenes played all the beats (would that Barbara Bloom tie her pal Chris "Three Days a Week Sounds Like a Plan to Me" Goutman over at As The Storylines Are Rushed Through to a chair and force him to watch), Jill (Jess Walton)’s refusal to accept that those goofy grifters the Bardwells would be running the company, her utter disbelief that her precious—though woefully neglected in favor of Cane (Daniel Goddard) whom she met five minutes ago—son Billy (Billy Miller) was a part of the takeover, to Jill’s realization that of course Jack was behind it all, to Abbott relations Brad (Don Diamont) and Colleen (Tammin Sursok) smirking to themselves and then, just when you think it couldn’t any better, Ashley Freaking Abbott walks in and says sit yo’ ass down Billy, big sister’s in town! Priceless. Welcome home My Beauty, welcome home! 6 Responses Jillian Bowe December 4, 2008 Its as if the fab four over @ Y&R are bumping some 112 and Biggie… I say that because they must be saying to those nay sayers like you were Jamey, “I thought I told you that we won’t stop, I thought I told you that we won’t stop Eh eh, eh eh!” LOVE IT! Paula Log in to Reply nathan77 December 4, 2008 I don’t watch YR regularly, but I still know ALL the chracters and their histories. And I have to say, for the past few months I have been watching YR EVERY night on SoapNet, and it is just good soapy fun. The Jabot storyline has been just outstanding, and watching these actors do what they do best has been so great. I can’t get enough of seeing Jill, Ashley, Jack, Billy, and Cain, and Brad, and crazy Gloria. YR really is must see tv right now. How I wish my Guiding Light could be like this, looking all lush and fabulous. Log in to Reply luverica December 5, 2008 “Cruella de Bardwell” ROTFLMAO!!!
