Wishful Casting: Robert Ri'chard as Y&R's Nate Hastings
Ever since the return of Tonya Lee Williams as Dr. Olivia Barber Hastings Winters on The Young and the Restless was first announced, soap fans have been speculating about whether or not Liv's son, Nate could be far behind. Liv has mentioned Nate—the child she conceived with her deceased first husband Nathan and later raised with second husband Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore)—several times since arriving back in Genoa City. According to the storyline, Lily(Christel Khalil)'s older cousin is away at medical school. I say its time Nate transferred to a university closer to Genoa City and I have the perfect person to play him– Robert Ri'chard.
Like Bryton McClure and Tatiyana Ali, Ri'chard grew up on our screens in such sitcoms as Cousin Skeeter and One on One, and would bring with him a built-in audience. In recent years he played Paris Hilton's love interest in the camptasically-bad horror flick House of Wax.
Ri'chard has graduated from playing the wisecracking kid, into a bonafide hearthrob in the vein of Shemar Moore himself and could help provide a sexy, mocha triangle with McClure's Devon and Ali's Roxanne. What if Roxanne dated Nate off screen? How surprised would she be to learn he was Devon's adoptive cousin? What if he seduced his Uncle Neil (Kristoff St. John)'s insecure fiance Karen (Nia Peeples), got horizontal with Tyra (Eva Marcille), or dated Heather (Vail Bloom) in college? The possibilities are restless.

My only wish where Little Nate is concerned is that he be aged older than Lily. I guess he'd have to be if he's in medical school while Lily's still in college.

mrbrooksgenoacitynews Nate will be on the show soon. i am thinking he will appear about the same time that Devon disappears from genoa city. The show needs a young doctor, what is a soap without a hot single doctor right? Who does he become involved with? Colleen needs a man, but is she moving back to Sydney?

I hate to be the naysayer on this one because it's a smart choice on paper. But Rob plays really young and Nate is supposed to be older than Lilly. I would more see him as a new love interest for the interest free Lilly. Or Colleen. Hell even Chloe could use a complication with Jill's sons.

The Hollyoaks guy would definitely work too! I also thought about the guy Eva is dating from House of Payne, haven't really watched the show—I tried, but I just couldn't do it!— but it could be a great cross-promotional opportunity for Y&R.

Cousin Skeeter was my show back in the day and I think Robert has grown so much as an actor and I think it would be a good casting move if they got him as Nate or a Brit if they were goin for an accent.

The guy from Hollyoaks is a really good actor. I watch a show on Fox Sports Soccer Channel called Dream Team and he's on it (DT is no longer airs in UK to my knowledge.) Dream Team is sort of a Footballer's Wives but from the Men/Players perspective, not the wives. I'd love to see him on Y&R or on AMC as Frankie.

Oh Ricky Whittle would be even better. He is great!!! But would be a long way from leaving Hollyoaks, moving to L.A. and being cast for Y&R. But since this is wishful casting, he would definitely be my number one.
