HomeTVGreys AnatomyPrivate Practice Ratings Jump 22% Luke Kerr January 10, 2009 14 Comments The ratings are in and are looking good for ABC’s Private Practice after its move to the post Grey’s Anatomy time slot. Private Practice’s ratings jumped 22% and it retained 65% of its lead in. While things have improved for the spin-off it should be noted that CBS did not air original programming and the BCS National Championship on FOX had big ratings. It will be interesting to see how Private Practice does once CBS’s heavyweights are back in the mix of things. 14 Responses MichaelKnight January 10, 2009 It’s still a crappy show. Just because you air it after a hit show and it get’s good #’s isn’t a true reflection of the actual #’s of the show. It’s like airing an infomercial after American Idol. It’s going to get great ratings due to the lead in. If it was so good it would have been able to stand on it’s own rather than have to be attached to a rating’s winner. The show still sucks. Log in to Reply Johnathon January 10, 2009 Dang, I wish more people would tune into the final season of E.R. then watch that mess… oh well I am watching PP now on ABC.com and while it’s enjoyable, its still not ‘must watch’ for me. ———– A.K.A. ssjohn Log in to Reply elbugten January 10, 2009 I was going to mention the final season of ER, too. THat’s what’s what’s must-watch for me, too. I’ve watched that show from the beginning and I’m not about to give up now, no matter what the other networks throw up against it. Grey’s Anatomy is hit or miss for me and Private Practice just doesn’t hold my attention. Now, if they’d kept Dirty Sexy Money and put it on Thursdays, THEN I’d have a problem choosing, but right now, ER, no contest. Log in to Reply timepass January 10, 2009 Yep crappy show that will go down next time when it is not following ER finale! Log in to Reply Jorpa January 11, 2009 “if they’d kept Dirty Sexy Money and put it on Thursdays, THEN I’d have a problem choosing” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That was my first thought reading this blog. The only thing that could top DSM for me is Lost. Log in to Reply GossipGirl January 11, 2009 I completely agree Jonathan! Private Practice is a hot mess and this final season of ER is fantastic! Angela Bassett on ER is phenomenal! Plus, after watching the PP epiode where the couple still wanted a baby after they found out they were related, I took it off my TIVO. The stories are too ridiculous. Log in to Reply BigDede January 11, 2009 I must be the only one but I love this show. I hate that Tranny looking doctor Charlotte but otherwise I like it. I’m glad more people are watching. I use to love ER but after Abby and Luka left (the great television couple EVER!) I stopped watching. I don’t love none of the new people like I loved the ones I’ve watched for 17 years. Though the episode Pratt died kill me. The only time I cried on ER was when Abby and Luka got married but I was crying tears and snot when Pratt died. Log in to Reply Johnathon January 11, 2009 Oh I completely agree, Abby and Luka leaving was a big hit for the show, but TUNE BACK IN! See John Carter! There is alot more going on and it got 3 more episodes! So tune in and say good-bye to County General lol. I like Private Practice don’t get me wrong I still tune in every week, and for awhile I liked it more then GA, but if I have to pick PP or ER, ER is going to win for the simple fact that it’s the end of a phenomenon. ———– A.K.A. ssjohn Log in to Reply Luke Kerr January 11, 2009 See to me ER is a phenomenon that has run its course. NBC did the exact same thing with it that The CW did with 7th Heaven. ER should have been cancled a few years ago imo. Log in to Reply season1217 January 11, 2009 After watching the PP episode where the couple still wanted a baby after they found out they were related…. Jammy’s in prime time?! Why didn’t DC post this?! Also, I forgot that Noah was coming back to ER. When does his episodes air? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pushing Daisies – You will always be in my heart! Log in to Reply EricasEvilTwin January 11, 2009 I love ER, always have always will. While some of the luster is gone, there still have been some amazing epis this season – not only the last epis for Abby and Luka, but also the Pratt dying episode and the return of “Mark Green”. PP at its best doesnt hold a candle to ER at its worst – but thats JMHO. _______________________________ Ditch the bitch, Save the World….Exterminate the Lizard. Watch PP!!! ***///My life as a soap fan is on life support, waiting for a miracle…\\\*** Log in to Reply Johnathon January 12, 2009 See to me ER is a phenomenon that has run its course. NBC did the exact same thing with it that The CW did with 7th Heaven. ER should have been cancled a few years ago imo. You can’t compare what the CW did with 7th Heaven to what NBC is doing with E.R. If NBC brings ER back from the ‘dead’ then you can compare it. WB finished 7th Heaven, the show was OVER and then lovely Dawn O said “Oh we don’t need that Everwood show” and picked 7th Heaven back up to ruin it. And saying that ER is crap because it’s in season 15 isn’t really fair either, Just because the show isn’t brand new doesn’t mean its crap, In the UK they have a weekly ‘ER’ type show Casual+y the show is 23 season long and its still AMAZING. Its a matter of story telling and how they handle things, E.R. has had a few missteps but it’s wrapping up nicely now. And while it may not be the ‘original’ weekly medical drama you have to admit it is one of the most well known Medical drama’s out there. Anyways I don’t know when Noah W comes back, but I believe it’s soon. ———– A.K.A. ssjohn Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
