Gov. Blagojevich Gets Grilled on The View
Illinois Governor Gov. Rod Blagojevich made a pit stop by The View today and had a one on one interview with the show's executive producer and host, Barbara Walters. He spoke with Walters, who was in Los Angeles, via satellite. Later, he went up against the rest of the hosts.
The governor is currently on trial to be impeached in connection with scheming to benefit from his power to name President Barack Obama's replacement in the Senate. Now, if those of you are wondering if the trial is in recess or has gone to the jury, it hasn't. Blagojevich has refused to participate in the proceedings and has refused to step down or invoke the powers given to the governor's office. Instead he's decided to take it to the media and what better forum than the chickas of the ABC chat fest.
Later on, Blagojevich said that he was considering having my hero Oprah Winfrey as replacement for President Obama's seat and wasn't able to get the chance to have her do so. On BFF Gayle King's Sirus XM radio show, Winfrey stated,
I'm pretty amused by the whole thing, I think I could be senator too. I'm just not interested.
I don't know about you, but if it were me facing some serious jail time, not to mention being ran out of office, I'd stay clear from those gals and keep my tail in Illinois and be active in my case. He should've copied his wife's motto! Check out Joy at the 7:57 mark in the second clip. Only she can turn a serious situation into comedy hour.
