A major shout out the cast and crew of daytime's number one soap opera The Young and the Restless! The soap hit the 4.0 in Nielsen households, thanks to a whopping 447,000 gain in total viewers for the week of Jan. 26-30, according to Soap Opera Network.

From looking at the rest of the numbers, nearly half a million people tuning back in to Y&R had a positive trickle down effect for the rest of CBS Daytime. Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful hit 2.8, with a gain of 400,000 viewers. As The World Turns gained 355,000 viewers to achieve an impressive 2.1, while Guiding Light inched closer up as well, gaining 303,000 viewers, giving them a 1.6.

Over at the Mouse House,General Hospital's latest hospital virus/biotixin/explosion storyline brought back 229,000 viewers, giving the soap a 2.3. All My Children added 145,000 viewers for a 2.1, while  the network's best soap and a tie for daytime's best soap overall, One Life to Live added 105,000, for a 2.0

As for NBC's sole suck opera, my predictions that viewers Days of Our Lives would gain from John and Marlena's last week, would tune out in droves after the supercouple made their exit was wrong, dead wrong. Days actually added another 62,000 viewers, for a 2. freaking 2. It looks like Ken and Dena have the last laugh once again.
