BREAKING NEWS: BethAnn Bonner FIRED From One Life to Live?

as a newish OLTL viewer this news doesn't mean much to me. i haven't seen talia in any major stories and frankly the character seems to be filler. plus, i think most folks assumed she'd be written out with antonio when KDLR leaves. that being said, i think she's a competent actress (much better than the hair models that she seems to be paired with regularly in scenes) and i'm sorry she's losing her job through no fault of her own.

i'd be interested to know what long time OLTL viewers think of this.

This annoys me. The character had potential. I would rather see Talia than Marty chewing up the scenery. And I definately prefer her to the likes of Lola and Vanessa. GRRR.

I hope that this means that more firing to go to, like Noe and Moe, Layla, Michael and Marcie, John McBain, Vanessa and Lola and Ray, and Cris and bring back RJ with Rachel and Hank and Lindsay.

Honestly Bethann Bonner was the only reason I ever watched OLTL to begin with. I followed her from i wanna be a Soap Star. I don't think I'll tune in anymore because I really don't care with who is left.

Like her well enough, wish her well, but won't miss her for a minute. But she's also Carlo Hesser's daughter, so she'll probably return at some point.

Good. Talia is boring and a waste of money. Send her off with Antonio- cannot stand him either.
Next, I am praying on Christian- I cannot act and never could- Vega and that awful, awful, awful Vanessa and her stupid sister
OLTL has 8-10 characters to get rid off and we are off to a good start.
The ratings are awful and GL is going to beat OLTL within a month at this rate

this is go awful.I love ron but instead of creating the new characther staccy,i think the writers shouldve thought of a good storyline for bethann.A rare talent in this medium that has languished on the sidelines for months.

I hope that's not true. BethAnn has the potential to have a great character, but the writing has failed her. But I'm sorry, I'd rather keep her around than have to keep money in the budget for Crystal Hunt and her colorist.

I like BethAnn too, but I think the writers screw up her s/l with Carlo and the dumb Mendorra mess and with Antonio leaving I think that she is not needed, that my opinion on it and I think that my list of characters that needs to go too to substance the show budget and get rid of dead weight.

This is so effed up! It won't make that much difference to the show, but there are so many awful characters that remain. Get rid of Gigi and her terrible sister who are chewing up screentime day after day. Martyr is a total waste. I'm sad.

As much as I enjoy her performance, the cast is too large and if Antonio isn't going to be in Llanview anymore, I can understand why the show would write Talia out as well. I imagine we will see a few more characters exit the show in coming weeks. I have read rumors that Wes, Michael, Marcie, and Layla could all be on the chopping block.

It's so terrible... OLTL had the opportunity to really bring on a strong, professional woman -- maybe make her chief of detectives since Antonio is leaving and John McBain is in the bar business. But once again - they've defined the woman character as just the "hot chick". The guy leaves - so they ditch the girl. Horrible. BethAnn is a very talented actress - so I'm sure someone else will snatch her up. No wonder OLTL fails to collect emmys. Bad storylines for Talia have been the ritual. The Mendorra Mess??? Cherryvale? And for crying out loud, how many times can they make her look like an inept cop getting hit on the head? Lord!! Maybe we'll see her on an evening drama - where they actually realize a female cop has a brain!! So long Talia - but NOT goodbye to BethAnn. We'll see you again - you can COUNT ON IT!!
