Jamey, don't insult the great Bette Davies by mentioning her and Judith Chapmen in the same breath, let alone compairing the two, shame on you. Watch 'Now Voyager' and 'What Ever Happened to Baby Jane' and then say the scenery chewing Chapmen is anything compared to Bette Davis. I'm disgusted.

Ladyofthelake I have always said Judith Chapman was doing a "BAD" Bette Davis impersonation.

Okay, Mr Branco, Sir - I've deleted my earlier message - sorry, I really was under the impression that it was totally fabricated/made-up - she said as much herself... no offence intended...
Peace.

I wrote it as a blind item, and never took "the story" down. Not sure what you are talking about. But of course it was Hunter Tylo, it was pretty obvious. And I stand by my sources (one is a writer and SEVERAL of the actors involved). To say the cast was concerned that she suggested this story is an understatement. Moreover, Brad would never write this story if it wasn't her idea, so soon after her son's real-life death. That's absurd. He'd have to be a monster. Also, newsflash: actors sometimes act when the cameras stop rolling! I wouldn't take everything she says as gospel. She even brought Mickey's prayer cards to the set that day for inspiration at Phoebe's funeral!

Hearing Nelson say my beloved CHURCH was damn fab! *LOL* Especially in a southern voice? That T.O. boy had my dying. Jamey so glad you busted out on Amelia's hair! She looked like she was thrown in a dryer and decided to show up for her scenes! YECK!

Ooooo, the Nuke fans are going to come after y'all with those comments about Van Hansis' acting.
I like Van and I think he's good though he can sometimes be OTT in dramatic scenes. And yes, TPTB really do have Jake Silbermann there for the pretty cause they certainly give the impression they don't want to write for his character.
As for Shelly Hennig and Molly Burnett... that really is a toss up over that last nomspot. Neither one is anywhere near as good as Rachel Melvin. For me, younger is a toss up with Blake and Billy M. I would be happy to see either win.
I am still bitter about "my" Chick break-up.

Aside from the politics as usual, I think Melody Thomas Scott would have stood a better chance at a nomination and perhaps winning if she hadn't gone a little too over-the-top when screaming/crying "Victor!" on the beach. But the scene at the bar in Mexico where she's drunk: priceless.
It's a shame there's not an outstanding newcomer category because then actors like Chris Engen and Billy Miller would land a spot.
Finally, the younger actress prenominations? Have mercy on us.

First off, I'm Tina NOT Regan.
If you are going to be putting people on your bad list, at least put the right person on it.
Secondly, yes, I did see the scenes when Nash died. And with that material, the scenes should have been even more powerful then they were. Bree is not a horrible actress, but I felt Melissa Archer really brought it as Natalie this year. Being locked in a room and basically acting against a TV, those scenes were phenominal.
Now, please remember, these are all just opinions and we all have them, just identify the right people next time !!!!

Peace Mr. Lomas, Sir. No need for any formal greetings. We're all soap sluts here! LOL!
I just wanted to clarify that I wrote it as a blind item, and never took the story down. People (read: Jamey) just did the math!
Peace out, Nel

Well TINA! Sorry for the mistake of names. I skipped the intro and you sounded like Regan.
Bree played 3 roles, dealt with the death of her husband, and had the funeral scene.
Natalie who I used to love was ruined last year. Even when I was natalie fan I knew Archer was NEVER an amazing actress. Two things I look at is story and the actress ability. Yes the locked in the room storyline could of been amazing material BUT Archer did not deliver at all. She overacts and her crying scenes are just horribale. Bree is a natural actress. You saw the tears in her eyes. That's why so many have rooted for her since the funeral for her to be nominated.
When you say Bree should have delivered more during the funeral scenes she would have taken a page from Archer and overacted which is why it was amazing.

You know, I think it's because Bree played 3 roles that I just don't see it. I think of Erika Slezak playing Viki, Nikki, Jean and Tommy and I want Bree to be at that level and she's just not. Maybe that's why I just feel that Bree just didn't "bring" it enough. Also, having spoken to many people in the profession, it's much harder to act against an empty room or a green screen that it is to act off of other people.
Anyway, to each their own!!!

Thanks Jamey and Tina. I think Bree is an amazing actress, but this last go around with Tess missed the beat for me. I did love her scenes following Nash's funeral, but her best work IMO was opposite Melissa Archer, and I think Melissa really gets the credit for making those scenes so fabulous.
BTW Jamey, I think Kassie De Paiva is also one of those actresses you mentioned who can bring it even with really bad material. Somehow, KDP always manages to keep Blair true to character, no matter what nonsense appears on the script.

Trevor St. John not being nominated is NOTHING SHORT of a TRAVESTY. This is the 3rd consecutive year he was absolutely ROBBED. 2006 he had the execution s/l, 2007 he had the s/l where he had to mourn his supposedly dead child, then this past year he had all that material that was Emmy-worthy.
I think Bree Williamson is DEFINATELY deserving of an Emmy nod, her goodbye scenes with Nash at the hospital as well as when she blasted Natalie and Jared at Nash's funeral screamed "Emmy!" Although Tess "twirled her mustache" this year, Bree seemlessly goes between Jess, Tess and Bess and is deserving of a nomination. Melissa Archer is also deserving and is ALWAYS overlooked. Melissa Claire Egan on AMC is definately deserving of a nomination. She perfectly captured Annie's descent into madness and is continuing to put in excellent work.
Jason Thompson and Kim McCollough were grossly overlooked. Their marriage and baby Emma's birth were the best things all year on GH, along with Genie Francis' return. Steve Burton drove s/l all year, but nothing he did was really award-worthy to me. I think Lawrence St. Victor was great during the s/l with Bill, Ava and baby Max--he won alot of sympathy
