On today's CBS and Days of Our Lives Daytime Confidential episode Luke, Mike, Jamey and Melodie discuss the latest in As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless news including...
Cady McClain's return to As the World Turns. Zac and Zoe, twins have been cast and Zac may be a love interest in the Luke and Noah storyline.
Don Diamont wasn't unemployed long. The Bold and the Beautiful snapped him up. He will play Bill Spencer Jr. An update on the return of Joanna Johnson.
Leanne Hunley is leaving Salem. Wes Ramsey is joining the cast by Days of Our Lives for an undisclosed role. Many suspect that he could be portraying Eric Brady. Would the return of Eric be worth it with so many of his family gone?
Marcy Rylan knocked it out of the park last week, but she had better be careful. Guiding Light has cast the role of James Spaulding, her brother. The Four Musketeers reunited for their high school reunion.
Ashley on The Young and the Restless claims she's pregnant, but is she carrying Victor's spawn or suffering from menopause? The role of Mac has been recast, but doesn't Billy Abbott already have his hands full with Chloe, Lily and Sharon. How will Mac impact his life.

ATWT is incredibly awful right now. For me, it's about Craig/Carly and Noah/Luke moments (though that murder mystery storyline was absolutely atrocious
). Otherwise, the show SUCKS. The storylines are all stupid, dull or non-sensical.
Why aren't Goutman or Passante on the chopping block?
Every other show has gone about a regime change but not ATWT and the show is free-falling in the ratings.
I have no faith in TPTB in making Cady's return as Rosanna going well because they really screwed it up last time she was on with the Vortex of Suck.
As for Zac & Zoe... there hasn't been a lot related to them out in spoilers so I don't have much to say on that, though if Zoe is a spoiler for Alison/Casey then I am already rooting for her cause I DESPISE ALISON/CASEY. It's almost as bad as Peg.

The sad thing about B&B is that some of the faithful viewers I guess have come to accept this garbage as good plot twists. My mom will still tell me I should watch it, thinking that they might actually do something daring and actually kill Rick or give Felicia a storyline. Ugh.
ATWT: Here's a thought: Use the guy you brought back as Matt O'Connor for a storyline instead of bringing in lots of more new people we don't care about. They're ruining this guy's second go-around when they could have done something great with him (he can actually act).
Days: Thank heavens Sami/Allison Sweeney is back. The show has some life now.

I glad Phillip throw Grady over the cliff and my favorite couple, Otalia, is on fire. I hate B&B and wish the show would be canceled if they still keep putting up with this crap of this show. I don't know what the F#%# B&B is doing. Brad needs to be fire and give it to his brother or sister to write the show. ATWT is a bad joke and GL is getting good. Y&R is a classic with Katherine and Nikki, Kevin and Amber and Daniel, and Jana. Y&R is the only soap to stick with.

I am waiting for you guys to podcast on ATWT's current pairings. The writing definitely sucks but I find myself watching the show and either hating all the pairings save two (Luke/Noah, Craig/Carly) or being completely indifferent to those remainining pairings I don't hate.
Not sure I agree with you about Otalia versus Nuke.
As for Days of Our Lives... some of it is more watchable. I am not sure where the show is going with some of the storylines, though. I wonder if Chelsea's departure means the show is going to put Stephanie & Max back together (to me, they were more interesting than Stephanie/Philip even though I am not a fan of either pairing really). I find myself surprisingly liking Sami & Rafe together. The storyline initially annoyed me cause Sami was being so whiny & irritating at the safehouse, but since Rafe has hit Salem, their scenes have worked for me. Hmmmm.
On a side note, what is with all the bad hair going on in Salem? Is that another victim of the budget cuts on Days?

I agree with everything you said about ATWT & B&B.
In Australia Pheobe just died and to be honest all I've been doing is laughing at the 'quality' of the acting.
ATWT I'm not sure why I'm even watching this show at the moment and with the introduction of Zac & Zoe is just going to make it even worse.
I actually think at the moment ATWT is worse then B&B.

And Jamey, I agree with EVERYTHING you said about Days on the podcast. Josh will never be Roman! Anna leaving is sad, but she was never utilized properly! Psychic Bo doesn't work!
Can we get Thom Racina for Days! When will Dena Higley lose her job already? I can't comment too much on the show because I don't really watch anymore. I catch a Friday episode to see what's happening every once in a while, but I really don't care. But I agree it's nice to have Sami back in Salem.

I really would of liked to watch Otalia playing pool, because I love pool. However, I'm skipping anything Jeffery in Olivia's life. In fact, I won't watch the show live for fear of the patern saint of rapists getting near Olivia. That's all good though, because that allows me to focus on Otalia (the good stuff) on YouTube and still (for the moment) hold GL in some high esteem. Don't know how long those good feelings will last though given the show insists on putting St. Rapist in Otalia scenes. I like to think the ratings would be better if the writers didn't make us flip the channel at some twisted instance of theirs. It really makes no sense why they would force people to flip the channel. Is it some new plan I'm missing here?

As a long time Day's fan nostalgic over loosing a lot of baby-boomer actors, Daytime confidential has piqued my interest in seeing what Crystal Chappell was up to on GL since the Day's discussion is combined with CBS daytime. I have to say after 16 years the actress still has soap charisma and is more skilled . I am enjoying her performance and storyline. I can see how it is constructed like an 'old school' love story and right now they are in the 'sweet spot' of the story. Will they or won't they, should they or shouldn't they get together. What obstacles internal and external will come up. How the heck will they get from A to Z? The writing and acting is way deeper than what is on Days. LOL!
It is hard to access the other storylines on this show. Trying to figure out what is going on. OK, Mallet and Marina are trying to adopt. I thought they were father and daughter when I first saw them. Oh, the actors are engaged? Still look like father and daughter. They did have a memorable scene where they walked out of the house and stood on the lawn by a tree during a snowstorm and had a long talk. First thought was, why would anyone go out in a storm to have a long talk? Mallett telling her he was a hit man? It does look pretty with the snow falling though.
Justin Dees made me cry during Coops death. He took me by surprise. He looks like a mild-manner guy behind the counter, then presto he turns in that performance! Also liked his 'transformation' after with slicked back hair, stubble and green army jacket Travis Bickel style bad ass Buz!
Starting to warm up to pompous ass Alan. His scolding of Otalia, “You two”, his outrageous crashing of Coop's wake! The nerve! And also spoiled rich girl Lizzy was funny apologizing for her entire family (Mom, Dad, grandfather!) and her breakdown scene managed to make me uncomfortable so it was effective.
Still don't know what Shane and Dina are about but since she helped Mallett get a baby, and has rejected Shane's advance, she looks good with both fellows so we'll see.
They seem to be doing less drugstore shooting during sweeps which is wise.

Wow! Jamey something really got on your nerves today! If I were the actors from BB, and I saw you coming down the street. . . . I think I would run the other way or just plain RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor ATWT! I do try to watch but sometimes its unwatchable!!!! With all do respect I think better storytelling could help this show. But, Jamey if they did'nt KNOW now they do! Keep telling it like it is, not like tptb would like to make us THINK that it is!

I miss ATWT/ DAYS but not one tiny part of me misses the mess that is TBATB, I watched that show and i can safely say i have no connection to ANYBODY on that show, nothing on there makes me want to tune in it is the same stupid stories with the same stupid problems, I keep hearing about how awesome TBATB was, but when i look at the show today i just dont see anything.
I have debated Otalia already, but I will just say i am not a fan and i dont think they are that 'big' of a deal and i do not see any chemistry or anything but thats just me.
