DC #384: Performer of the Week
The ladies at The View have nothing on Daytime Confidential's Performer of the Week episode this week. Luke and Jamey have to team up ala The Young and the Restless' Jack and Brad to defend an actress against the wrath of Jillian, who is on a Victor Newman inspired warpath.
Join us as Luke, Mike, Jamey, Tina, Belinda and Jillian choose the actors and actresses who they believe did an outstanding job during the previous week. Hear who they choose for their honorable mentions and find out which star caused such an uproar as a dishonorable mention.
All this and more on today's episode of Daytime Confidential.

Thank you for mentioning Michael Park. He is one of the most underated actors on daytime. Bravo Michale. I have to say that I love Jack n Jane together! Let's keep it that way! I also love the Matthew n Destiny story! I love that they're giving Shaun a family. And I love my girl Dinah on GL!

I will defend Adrienne Frantz's acting here, too. She's not my favorite character by far, but I would likely lose all composure if I were being held captive by a man gone crazy and locked in a closet with a corpse. That being said, I gave up watching B&B a while ago, and when I hear that the front-burner stories continue to escape logic and are being acted out in such an awful manner, I am confident that I am indeed finding better things to do with that half-hour of my time.

Jillian I have to agree with you. Adrienne Frantz has her good weeks but she does have bad weeks. She has never really clicked for me on Y&R.
Jillian I am an huge fan of Melody Thomas Scott too and she is not a hair model lol!
Chewy Chapman= HAM!!

I must admit that since I knew I wasn't able to podcast this weekend I wasn't caught up on OLTL. Now, I know some readers don't see the Brandon Buddy love here at DC. I admit I've seen the improvement and there are times I love him but there have been plenty of times for me where I'm not on board. I'm catching up on OLTL now and wow was Brandon Buddy great in the courtroom scenes. He would have definitely been my pick. Now, my honorable mention would have been for Scott Clifton. I think he's improved so much from his days as Dillon Q on GH - don't get me wrong I liked him at GH- but in this instance his chest would get my HM. Boy has been hitting the gym! I haven't been feeling Claudia either. The story is crap and I'm just not feeling Sarah. And just like the GH ratings, what goes up must come down. I gave Farah Fath my POW a few weeks ago. This week, eh, wasn't feeling it.

2 questions come to mind in response to today's podcast.
A. Does anyone else think that Craig is trying to set Parker up for a Maddoff-type scheme, and that this may have been his plan all-along which is why he has been so attentive to Parker since his return?
B. After Jamie's NPR story, was Luke's transition to Tina meant to imply that she has the taste of a chimp? (lol)

Great podcast guys!!!!!!!!!!
I actually have to agree with Jillian about Adrienne Frantz's performance.....I wouldn't say that she was bad but something about it just felt off.....It felt over acted (for lack of a better term).....her performance just kept distracting me....
Michael Park was awesome and totally deserves performer of the week....

Thanks so much, Podcasters, for commenting on Farah Fath's "acting." The mugging, pouting, and fake crying are really too much to bear. I have yet to feel an honest emotion from her. What's really problematic is that she is one of the mom's in the sick kids storyline and the other one is the amazing Hilary B. Smith! Essentially, HBS runs acting circles around her which puts Fath's acting in rather harsh perspective. Fath looks amateurish most of the time. And so, when I see the Shane storyline, I really feel nothing (also, due in part to the atrocious Stacy angle in this story). But, when I see the Matthew story, I am always moved by HBS and therefore feel a real attachment to that story. I've never seen Ms. Fath on DAYS, so I don't know what her capabilities are. But on OLTL, I haven't seen anything from her yet that has moved me.

This was one of the funniest podcasts in recent memory! My stomach hurts from laughing. Belinda love your quote " I knew a girl like that once, I punched her in the face." Too funny. Oh and Jillian "Chewy Chapman" was a riot as well.
I agree with everything y'all said about Stacy! It's one thing to want to steal your sister's man but to put your own nephew's life in danger and not care is just downright cruel! The character is trash and has to go. The Shayne thing was the last straw for me and ithis character just started. The character is now ruined forever and has only been on what a month. Bad writing, just plain old bad writing.

LOVED Luke giving Mandy her props! Y'all know I had to say something about that.
Gina just makes everything better! She's a scene stealer!

Luke now you know I love ya but if you EVER labelled me BORIA, you best call Kevin and Amber so they can pick you up on their way to do another Chimpmunk and gal robbery! *LOL* I don't care about the Victor thing, I'm saying I just say one time I don't feel your precious Marcy Rylan and Adrienne Frantz I get a bad rap. Smitty's right the heifers had a bad week they all do regardless of the Emmy's they've captured in AF's case.

PREACH/CHURCH Jillian and Tina!
Adrienne Frantz is nothing to cry home about. I liked her on B&B and she had some nice moments on Y&R opposite Jeanne Cooper, and I'll stop right there.
Farah needs to stop w/the "crying" and I have to say that this storyline would work if the actors were better, and all I have to say is poor Crystal Hunt. She does not deserve what she's getting at OLTL and all of this screams the Frons wanting a hot blond on screen and involved in everyone story.

Tina, wow girl I agree with just about everything you say. Don't get scared, THANK YOU for finally putting it out there that Farah Fath sucks in dramatic scenes, she's really chewing up the screen and that's so hard to do with Crystal Hunt's Stacey right there with her, them two together is like being butcher with a 12 inch blade pyscho style. Jamey darling Farah couldn't pull off a dramatic scene if Meryl Streep herself used her as a hand puppet good or bad material, and this is coming from a Mimi fan. Ms. Tina I also agree with you about that drift of rotted wood Coal. I really hate that kid, and realish the days that Todd would beat his ass everytime he saw him, but Brandon Buddy is finally doing some real acting. It's only been recent, but he's actually watchable now. I was hoping teacher J whooped his ass, but the scenes were good. I still would like to see Coal off my screen, and I'm really hoping him and Starr don't get back together, the only thing I hate more than Coal is Coal with Starr. Wait for it I think they should have aged Starr, this role is beyond KA's acting abilities. She's not horrible, but her acting isn't developing she's hasn't evolved as an actress. I might actually care about Starr with a better actress.
Jamey you are so right about Adriana blackmailing Geegee would have been a much better story.
I've been bitching about Fath for weeks now and you guys are finally seeing the light, and the bad acting. I also agree that this story is going too fast.
