Since Crystal Hunt's debut as Stacy on One Life to Live her character has been scheming, plotting and manipulating her way through Llanview. The problem is that instead of being a character fans love to hate, Stacy is quickly becoming a character that fans just plain hate. As Tina pointed out on today's Performer of the Week episode "it might not be so bad if she were just in Gigi (Farah Fath) and Rex's (John-Paul Lavoisier) storyline, but she seems to be in every storyline."
On today's episode Stacy told Gigi that the only way she'd help save the life of her nephew Shane was if Gigi gave up Rex. Who in the world does that? Yes it is classic soap storytelling, but how does one even defend a character like that? Maybe if this were Adrianna Bitchy Bangs (Melissa Fumero) we'd understand such motivation, but to base Stacy's behavior on an off screen run-in with Rex in high school is preposterous. The motivation for this character is about as sane as Allison Perkins and not even a fraction as entertaining.

The character is absolutely ridiculous, and I can just see Brian Frons’ grubby hands all over this. She’s a copy of Sami from DOOL, only without a clear and reasonable motivation. That scene today with her ripping into Gigi over the high school BS was beyond stupid, and it makes the character come across as truly criminally insane. The real shame is that Stacy is distracting from the wonderful performances of the other actors in what could be a touching storyline. Finally, the most glaring issue to me is why doesn’t Gigi just play along with her, but secretly tell Rex what is going on. The bone marrow would have to be donated soon and then they could be done with the witch! Of course, this is a soap, so this will likely drag on forever. Please Ron C, I beg you, just get rid of Stacy!

Oh yeah, I was a big Crystal Hunt fan on Guiding Light, but the character of Stacy is dreadful. Even I can't defend the drivel coming out of Stacy's mouth about Rex and I've defending Y&R's Gloria on almost everything.

Stacy is the worst new character EVER.
She started lying after she said HELLO to Gigi & Rex. She looks at Gigi with hate in her eyes. I cannot believe a chance conversation with a boy from high school would make her hate her sister. Now she is using Shane in her screwy plan. Hopefully she will die on the table after Shane gets well.

Why couldnt they bring her in as the wild morasco ruining gigi's social life like she messing with everyone like rex, viki, rex mom who's name escapes me. how about killing someone... anything but getting involved with Morasco why couldn't she be a drunk and have a match with Shane but her alcoholic ways interfere??? or did they do that story already?

That is the problem, she has no motivation for any of this. I can't root for a schemer if I don't get why she's doing anything. I traditionally love a great soap schemer - there's a reason I loved the Sami/Vivian/Kristen era on Days and I think Erica Kane is the bomb - but this girl just ends up coming off as an annoying bitch who needs to get off my tv! If the serial killer of the week doesn't get her, maybe Mitch can come back from the dead (or out of the hospital bed he's probably in right now) and take care of business.

You pretty much nailed the main reasons she doesn't work for me... she's on too much, in too many storylines, is obsessed with Rex over some random run-in that doesn't make sense.
Two more reasons...
#1: Stacy is obvious in her underhandedness, which takes the fun out of watching her scheme & manipulate her way around town. Not to mention that it makes the fact that others haven't punched her in the face for being so transparently duplicitous ludicrous.
#2: Crystal Hunt is not trying to make the character more than one-note. There is no life to Stacy. She's very flat and completely unsympathetic and not fun in a "bitch on wheels" way. There is just nothing to go off of regarding the character to root for or to love or to love to hate, IMO.

My all-time favorite character is TINA amd even I can not stand Stacey, i do mean in the Love to hate kind of way i feel about Dorian sometimes, the yes you are evil, but you make the show interesting way. I mean in the go away and leave the show lola kind of way.

I'm not familiar with the actress' previous work, but I'm not digging this character. I have a very good friend who loved this actress, but hates her on OLTL. He said she lost all her acting talent with her nose job, which is harsh to say. I was speachless. I think they need to tone her down, you can't root for her. She's freaking crazy, a two minute what ever with Rex still has her going how many years later. Reguardless of how she feels she should love her hephew and want the best for him. How many sisters, brothers hate each other on soaps but love the kids, that's how people would feel something besides hate for her. It's to late to fix her, maybe.

My problem is the character of Stacy, not Crystal Hunt's acting. The character is so one-note, so her acting is going to be the same way. I cannot buy her reasoning for witholding bone marrow from her nephew. It's cruel and disgusting! So what if Rex was nice to her 10 years ago! It's called a crush...get over it!
I used to love New Kids on the Block, but then I woke up older and realized that I was a naive kid with bad taste in music.
The fast intoduction of Stacy and the lame reasoning that was given for her actions will be the downfall of this character. I hope they only have a short-term deal because I don't know how they can redeem her!

I could see Crystal as Sarah Roberts, she has the entire spoiled rich girl act down, true they never really wrote Sarah that way, but i could by that before this. I only watched OLTL again for Crystal and she is failing on this show quicker than BE failed on AMC. That was never a good fit either and I knew casting her as an outside character would not work.

The theme of a *few* of the posts seems to be whatever is good give Ron C credit and whatever is bad blame on Frons. I have no idea if Stacy is a Frons idea or not, but it seems to me that Ron C is the head writer, and if the story/character sucks he needs to get some of the blame.
I haven't watched OLTL in awhile (I've got the last two weeks on my DVR though), but I do know that Ron C is capable of greatness and total crap too. If this Stacy stuff is really that bad, maybe Ron C should be held accountable right along with Crystal Hunt and Frons. JMO

She says that TPTB feel the fan base isn't as big as they hoped. So this is all to increase their rooting value. I am with you on this Daisy Ron gets some of the blame on this one, actually he gets all of the blame since he is the head writer. I don't care if Frons told him to make Stacey happen it is his storyline and his and his writers words that I am seeing on my scene and they are horrible. This whole obession over a high school crush is lazy/bad writing.
What is it that when the show is good it is savior Ron doing and when the show or any aspect of the show sucks Frons is to blame. For all we know the good parts can be all Frons and the bad Ron.
