On today's CBS and Days of Our Lives episode of Daytime Confidential Luke, Mike and Jillian are joined by two special guests from the land Down Under, Brooke and Aussie Brian, to discuss the latest in As the World Turns, The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless news and storylines, including:

Stephanie tells Eric like it is on The Bold and the Beautiful and is offered a job by Nick. The Jackie M vs. Forrester war could be really good. Let's hope that the show doesn't screw it up. Who are Brooke and Brian's favorite and least favorite Days of Our Lives characters? Brady and Melanie kiss. The DiMera vs. Kiriakis feud heats up after the death of Tony. Brooke makes the argument for EJami while Brian defends Rafe and Sami. Wouldn't it be great if EJ and Rafe went head-to-head? What happened to Nicole's dog?
Guiding Light hasn't cancelled their lease with Peapack. Is this a sign of hope for the show? James Spaulding is a hit with fans, but is it enough to help make the character of Daisy more likeable? We discuss the importance of veteran actors helping young actors.

I love your podcast, I just wish there was something positive with Guiding Light right, I was hopeful they didnt cancel their lease but now I'm down about that to.

I am not as down on Luke "Luciano" Snyder as y'all but I know folks who are. They can't stand him. I am not impressed with the ZZ twins at all but the end of yesterday's show

The writing for ATWT is not good but it's better than 2 months ago. The Lucy stuff is dumb.

Plus it's nice to have some color on the show cause she's the only minority really scene in Oakdale. But I agree that TPTB seem to know not to do with her outside of tearing her down to prop up Casey/Alison. CASEY + ALISON = SUCK. Total Junior Vortex of Suck.
I like Jade! Leave her alone.

See I like Casey and I like Alison when she's sharing scenes with her mother, like today. But I don't like the character of Jade, period. She has no point.
Personally, I think the actress who portrays this Lucy looks like a young Martha Byrne. I don't mind her. What pisses me off is the she's here and she's gone thing.
I like the character of Luke, but as Mike put it he suffers from Snyder sanctimony and it gets really annoying fast. It seems like if it isn't Jack, it's Holden, if it isn't Holden it is Brad, if it isn't brad it is Luke. This show can't go an episode without at least one Snyder man thinking he knows everything. lol

Luke... Oh, I agree that TPTB seem to not know what to do with Lucy with all the coming and going of the character (I also think the shipping storyline is stupid). And has she had a scene with Lucinda at all?
I like Casey, aka "buff and useless" but I am tired of Alison. I am even more worn out by Alison's mysterious milkshake. If you don't like Jade, then you don't. I do like her and I like her bitchiness. I also think Jade & Casey are more entertaining to watch than Casey/Alison, even if it's them snarking on each other. It's nice to have a youngish vixen in Oakdale since the only other youngish gals on the show are Saint Alison of the flip-flop emotions and the very teenage Liberty.

I like Luke as well but I hate when he gets irrationally shrill and makes my ears bleed. Oh, I meant to say that Days is better now than a few months ago but it's not great.
I don't hate Melanie but I do like that she's on less. I think Stephanie + Philip = boring. I would love to see a Rafe/Sami/EJ triangle. I am meh on Sami (I've been watching since AS first came on so my memory of Sami is filled with all her misdeeds) but I think Sami has good chemistry with both and I like the two actors in their snark scenes so there is good potential there for a riveting triangle.
Perhaps "Sonny/Brenda/Jax" 2.0 will be Rafe/Sami/EJ??

Brian, I think it was you that suggested a Melanie and Lucas pairing? I love it! Bring on Mucas! LOL
I haven't watched B&B in awhile, but I'm glad to hear that Steph and Nick are in each other's orbits again. SF and JW work so well together - they've always had great hate/hate chem. Nick, when he has a pair, is the only person who has convincingly stood up to Steph.
As far as DAYS goes, I'm with the general consensus. Melanie sucks. I've been watching soaps for a long time and she's got to be one of the worst characters EVER. I don't just dislike her, I have a physical reaction to her when I see her onscreen! It's a mix of nausea and a trembling fury.
With Daniel, I agree that they never seemed to know what to do with him. They've done so much chem testing with him that he's inadvertently turned into the town slut. But I kind of like that. The "ladies man" doctor seems very old school soap to me
I'm in the minority when it comes to Mia I guess. I think the actress is so pretty, but she's not a good actress. In fact, I kind of think of her as Melanie-lite.
Brooke and Jillian: I like EJ too
I may not like the way they write him sometimes, but James Scott is always terrific. And I think my liking EJ is a combination of the actor and the character - that's usually the way it is for me

If Rebecca Herbst was playing Mac, she would't seem so "droll".
Y&R should have snatched her up. She is a seasoned actress and would have been great in scenes with Billy/Katherine/Jill/Kevin, etc.

I was a little disappointed we didn't hear more about Guiding Light, particularly when Crystal Chappell's performances this week have been so stellar.
As to what was said about GL's possible move to cable, I'm not sure I agree. Soapnet's success has proven that shows can carry over from network to cable tv and still do reasonably well. If Guiding Light can maintain a sizable percentage of their current audience (and pick up new viewers), their ratings would probably be a coup. It's still anyone's guess at this point.

Daisyclover - glad you enjoyed it. I had a blast recording it. Am still smiling from cheek to cheek at the thought of a 'Mucas' pairing. Lordie..very funny! I'm with you all the way when you say Melanie needs to be shipped off to some concentration camp somewhere. She needs discipline.

Mucus? Poor Bryan. He's been on the show for nearly two-decades and this is the storylines fans come up with for his character. Stick Lucas with the worse character on the show.
How about put all the new characters in a storyline together and put the vets together. That way I don't have to deal with the influx of new characters while the vets sit there knitting.
Oh, I should say good storyline. Put them all in good storylines.
As for ATWT, I don't what to say. I still say that boy who plays Parker is one heck of a little actor. He reminds me of the man who played Will. With M.W and M.P. working with him. He'll be awesome one day.

Luke is not really annoying me right now (but I kind of understand why some people are annoyed after the way Luke acted in the previous storyline). I think the way he acts right now is justified and makes sense. I loved the scene where he told Noah that he has to remind himself everyday what kind of person Damian is, because if he lets his guard down he's going to get hurt again.
I'm loving Damian's return so far. Paolo and Noelle have great chemistry. We also get to see more of Noah's POV in this story. He's no longer just Luke's handsome sidekick. The bond that is forming between him and Damian is very interesting to me. And the ZZ twins. I don't hate them. Especially now that I think the whole ZZ incestious twin thing was all an act to look harmless in Luke and Noah's eyes. I wonder if they're even siblings. Zac might not even be gay or bi. I'm interested in what kind of connection they have to the Grimaldi family.
I'm also glad Lisa is playing a part in the story. It was so great to see her on our screens again. And I have to compliment ATWT for their use of vets this week. Lisa, Nancy, Susan and Bob all appeared this week (and Lisa is even mentioned in next week's spoilers).

The Wonder twins are bad. Hate them. Luke needs to toned it down a bit. ATWT is awful. Passante and Goutman needs to be fired, ASAP. The new Mac is not working. Rebecca Herbst would of be great in the role Nick need to be alone for a way and Phyllis needs to just go crazy, I love crazy Phyllis.
Melanie needs to be shot along with Phillip. That would of be great.
