...yes she was Season... Binks also said, "Babe is love." I think maybe JR said it as well.
The difference between the two (for me) is that Babe was always so easily forgiven (by Binks, JR, Kendell, heck even Adam starting warming up to her)... and we as an audience (me & some others) hated that and wanted her to get hers. Not since Ryan Lavery had the entire town of Pine Valley ralled behind & adored another character (despite her many, many faults) soo much.
I know that Sami did bad things, but Babe was just soo awful. I mean she not only let Binks believe her baby was dead for over a year (which was cruel in & of itself b/c that baby was the only thing that helped Binks overcome her rape), but she also allowed Binks to be an active part of her own daughter's life in the form of God mother (when that tramp brought "Bess" to the Miranda center opening, I wanted to punch her in the face!). Furthermore, I guess she didn't learn her lesson with Binks & lying about dead babies b/c she allowed JR to believe that his son was dead by telling him that his baby was the one that drowned in the that river in a freakin' LETTER. She would have done better to just have written that on a Post-it Note ala Burger on Sex & The City. Even after all that, she got her baby back, forgiven by JR & remarried, became part owner in a company, forgiven by Binks, & a friend in Kendell. Her mom was the only one to do jail time (I know she is the one that did the actually switching, but Babe kept the fraud going) and David did community service for like 5 years. She got NO punnishment. People were mean to her for like 5 days (& she bitched about it the whole time) and that was it.
Heck, people STILL hate Sami to this day!!
...But I guess dreams really do come true, and some people get what's owed to them; thanks Tornado.

And another thing, I think that Alexia Havens was a good actress, but she played Babe SOOO smugly all-the-time! Even when Babe should have been remorseful, AH always had this smug look on her face & I always wondered/hated, "Why is Babe so damn smug?!".
(Sort of like Laura Wright as Carly on GH, esp. in the beginning... where did all the smug come from & why was it there? Hated it).
By contrast, I think Ali Sweeny played Sami with just the right about of remorse but still "I gotta do what I gotta do & to hell with the rest of you". Like Mamma J was saying, Sami took what she wanted & owned up to it (eventually, when she was caught), and everyone (even her parents) hated her for it. Babe on the other hand, ...well Babe, she was love.

Jamey, I am so with you! I fell for Sami Brady way back when. I used to crack up when Sami called Marlena a whore. I missed fun Sami. This Sami we've been seeing for the last five years has hurt my heart.
I used to call Sami and Lucas the bitch and the jackass. Lumi = the "bitch-ass" LOL! The way he used to be mean to Kate and her mean to Marlena... I used to crack my side.
Not so much these days. Lucas doesn't even exist anymore. And poor Sami... stuck lusting after her rapist and running scared.
Just youtube search for "Marlena" and "Cage" and there are tons of Marlena in a cage clips.

Loved the podcast. I tend to listen to them when I am exercising at the gym and everytime Jamey does that "Lady in a Cage" I laugh outloud. I am sure the people around me think I am crazy. Would love to see the promos of that story.

I haven't listened yet (so i haven't read the above post) but I don't really think i need to listen, We all know who came in first place, it was a big ol tie.
The first place winner and top 5 Days of our lives character of all time is Melanie Leyton RIGHT? Am i right or am i right? I mean come on how can you pick ANYONE else? Melanie is awesome, the future of Days and the future of daytime television as we know it.

I remember really liking Faith & Scotty but that was so long ago and I was a pre-teen when that happened.
I was big fans of Jennifer and Carly (except for Carly lied and Jennifer was raped because of it. Took me a while to get past that).
I was always entertained by Eve.
I loved Michael T Weiss' as Mike Horton. HUBBA!
I was a big fan of Isabella Toscano (I loved her with John. Never was a fan of John & Marlena) and Adrienne Kiriakis.
For whatever reason, I always had a soft spot for Brandon Walker.

Jamey, I don't have a favorite currently. I remember watching this show and totally being all in to it because I had all these characters I liked & actively rooted for. Now the drive is a lot less when it's there at all.
There are some characters I like ok that are on now but no one that I am actively rooting for. Back in the day, those I named were the characters where I was totally invested in their storylines and what was going on with them. Now it'll be were I like some of a plot and may want it to go a certain way for a character but am overall meh on it. About the only storyline that has perked me up some is the potential of a Rafe/Sami/EJ triangle, despite the fact that I am not really a Sami fan (I don't hate her like I used to cause I grew up with her so I know all her sins) plus I am still pissed TPTB pulled that sex blackmail/rape with Sami & EJ in the cabin and ruined a lot of the lustre on the pairing even though I still think they have mad hot chemistry.

I HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY With your self mister, Because I am now (once again) the laughing idiot of my neighbourhood, sheesh I just want to go for a simple walk/jog/run and listen to DC, but what happens everytime Jamey starts to talk? I burst out laughing while everyone just stares at me like ive done lost my mind -.-.
Anyways really good episode, I really hope DAYS is improving, it is the one soap I miss the most that i gave up, but with that said i have better stuff to watch, I have more enjoyable stuff to watch, and IF i was going to pick up a soap it would be Emmerdale, James Sutton is showing up soon and I kinda want to watch and see how he does over there.
I loved the show and can't wait to listen to more DC, even if i do look like a idiot while doing so lol.

Great Podcast to all.
Even though I'm not loving Days 100% its so nice to hear everyone's opinions and you all never disappoint in cracking me up.
My Top five in no specific order.

Honorable mentions would be Philip and Stephani I'm really starting to like there romance. Plus its nice to have the girl with Philip not eying another man. With Philip dealing with his inner demons and Stefanie having to come to terms to me at least should be their only drama.
I happen to complain a lot about the show. But watching days is like a bad habit that's just too hard to break. I could live without characters talking to them selves but I still enjoy watching them.
I loved the idea of Sami hating Mia and Kate loving her and taking her under her wing.
I still think that this Mia chick will be related to Will somehow. Not that I'd want them to be related its just this vibe that's being put out. So who knows maybe I'm wrong.
Alison Sweeney's chemistry with all three of her men is amazing.Lucas Ej and Rafe bring something different to the table but I'm starting to like her for Rafe. I absolutely love any scene that she and Lucas are in period. I don't want them together but I'm loving the friendship thing and all the history those two have together good or bad allows me to enjoy them and care about their characters. Well what can I say about Ej? He and Sami are hot together but he's gonna have to stop bedding her enemies before I can want them to work.
I happen to love the character Kate I hope the writers get her involved more with Victor now that Philip has been shot. Maybe then she'd back away from Lucas just a little.
My favorite scene so far for this year was the pier scene with Sami Nicole and Lucas. I'd love it if those characters ran into each other more often. Ultimately Characters with History and ties to each other keep me watching Days.

Louise Sorel has already been on AMC. I think she played a judge that blackmailed Adam or vice versa.

Oh and Jamey...yes i was a Zenon girl of the 21st century fan lol hey i was 9 -.-, but that is where i knew KS from, I saw her on GH and i was like "Hey that's Zenon!" I then turned the t.v. off because I didn't really understand the plot or what was going on and Maxie was being a total punk to Lucky (i remember it was the 4th of July episode or something because there was all sorts of American flags everywhere lol) I didn't even stick around for the whole episode lol, the first whole episode was the JaSam break up -.-.

By the way, fun piece of trivia, the role of Flynn Saunders is one of the very few roles on Home and Away to be recast, i kinda have more of a history with 2.0 but 1.0 was a pretty good actor from the little i saw of him lol.

New fan here =) I have been listening to this podcast for a long time, but but only became a member right now. I have been a fan of Days of our Lives since 1984, and I loved listening to this podcast.
My top 5 all time favorites would be:
1) Kimberly Brady - My all time favorite, loved her in the 80s when she went blind, when she was a prostitute for Victor, when she got multiple personalities..so many to choose from =)
2) Marlena - all the 90s storylines
3) John Black - ditto as the above
4) Susan Banks - Crazy and funny at the same time
5) Nicole Walker - hated her when she broke up Eric and Greta, but has now become my favorite character

Carly was my absolute fav. Vivian, especially when she rolled around on top of Carly's grave, that's an image I'll never forget. I stopped watching Days years ago, but I'll always remember that. I watched threw the 80's and early 90's. Patch/Kayla back in they day, Sean/Kimberly. Diana, she was played by Genie Francis and she was involved with Roman, when John was Roman. They killed her off, and I think Marlena came back shortly after that. They were hot together. I cried when she died. I also cried at they way the wrote Carly off, with the man that gave her the most grief and she spent years running away with.
