It doesn't seem very fair that Sarah G gets hammered after only 3 months of being on ATWT, but for Peyton List to be lauded as IT girl (as most of you DCers would rather have her back, what is she eye candy?) after she gets month after month, year after year, chance after chance to come into her own on ATWT. Think about folks, was Peyton this ranted at in her first three months in 2002? And to think they never fired her and given every chance. Oh, BTW, Grayson loves Sarah and was hoping/admitting? she'll be back on the show. What a stark contrast to how much he disliked Spencer (or didn't say much about her vs. how much he says about Sarah).

Rista that was MY opinion. It doesn't matter if Grayson laudes her to bits that's my take on it. So what if Grayson praises her, is that suppose to change my views of her? You have NEVER heard me talk about Peyton List. I've cracked on Adrienne Franz and Marcy Rylan before and that was considered high treason. My question is this, if they can get the dishonorable mention, and AF's an EMMY winner and Ryland is lauded for her acting, what makes Sarah G. exempt?

I have to say I always look forward to the performer of the week podcast - is it bad that I enjoy the dishonorable mentions just as much? guilty pleasure me thinks.

My big ditto! for the week is Jeff Branson on Guiding Light - his portrayal of Shayne has had so many deeply, moving moments. He gives an internal life to Shayne, where you can read pain, emotion without it being over the top (one of the actors who's really thriving in the GL production model) - I look forward to any time he's on screen.

thanks again! look forward to this week!

Part of the reason soaps are in trouble is because actors have too much say in their storylines and who they will or will not work with.

I am all for an actor having the right to say whether or not something may be in character for their character, but it shouldn't matter one bit if two actors get along.

If they are doing their job in a scene I don't care one bit if Grayson and Grammer were spitting nails at one another off screen. Knowing that he didn't like her would have made me any less likely to think that she was a terrible Lucy. She wasn't right for that role. On Greek she's great, but Lucy wasn't her role.

As for Grayson allegedly liking this new Lucy, once again, who cares. They are both actors. They are both supposed to be professionals. They are getting paid to do a job. These shows are not the actors own little fiefdoms.

ATWT allegedly scrapped the HOT Emily/Casey May/December romance because allegedly Kelley Menighan Hensley wanted to be paired with Grayson when he returned. Emily and Casey were the best couple to hit ATWT in ages and if it was scrapped for the alleged reason, it was wrong to do that.

Actors need to come to work, act out their scenes to the best of their ability, participate in show's promo tours/events as their contract require and then go home. What happened to the days of actors who hated each other still acting out their scenes or being popular couples?

If we knew that the actors were doing their jobs and not trying to manipulate their own storylines or who they shared scenes with it would be a whole lot easier to blame the writers and the executives for the problems facing our shows and their decline in ratings. Unfortunately that isn't how it is.

These shows, the executives, the writers and the actors are selling a product. We the viewers are consumers. We have the right to be say something if we think something is wrong or bad. This doesn't mean the shows will listen, because it is their right to ignore us. If they do we have the right to stop watching.

Jillian is entitled to her opinion and though I'll disagree with her on Marcy Rylan or Adrienne Frantz I don't disagree with her about this Lucy. Either way Jillian is entitled to her opinion as anyone else is theirs.

If anyone wants to hear/read a show's "company line," I would encourage them to buy a soap magazine.

I really enjoy your ABC podcasts as well as the performers of the week. I wanted to chime in on a comment Jamey made. He mentioned how when a show is bad we need to look at the performers and see who is really giving the Storyline (good or bad) their all. I agree Ilene (Roxy) never ever phones in her performance.

But there are three other actresses I'd like to mention -- who are in silly storylines but give us their all & their for I appreciate them even more!

1. Susan Lucci.... La Lucci is a true professional. She is always spot on as Erica kane-- and thats why we love her. She never does a scene half ass

2. Beth Ehelrs... Beth left a show where is was a major player & came to AMC. They gave her a crap character who is an island-- no roots and no real ties to the show... yet lately when she is on my screen I really like her. I like this softer Taylor and her love for Brot. I cant wait to see her & Mike E Knight together.

3. Robin Strasser.... She campy .. she's outlandish... yes...... but she is a primary focus in every scene she enters. I never get the feeling that RS is giving us half of herself-- she takes chances and gives the scenes 110%. I love her & hope ABC realizes what a treasure they have in both RS & ES!

Thanks for all you do!

I have to disagree with putting Kelly Monaco on a performer of the week list and not just because I don't like Sam. The scene where she commented on Sonny's ability to populate Port Charles made me cringe. I didn't mind the line about Sonny keeping it in his pants. I just didn't like it coming from Sam. Yes, she is one of Sonny's many baby mammas but she delivered the line while plopped down on Jason's couch in her spot and had to bring the whole thing back to her dead baby. I hate when people make someone else's crisis about them. Remember my dead baby Jaaaasssssooonnn!!! Oh my goodness, that brings memories back of a dark time in GH history for me. Ugh!!

Plus, why does she insist on covering her face with her hands and staring up at the ceiling? Does she have her dialog written on her hands or are there cue cards hanging from the ceiling? I know I am gonna get flack but I would have much rather Alexis got to deliver the line about Sonny to Jax or Carly said something to Sonny.

I'm not really feelings Sarah G either. I don't think she's THAT awful but I don't think she's good. Part of it is the writing, which I can't fault her on.

I don't blame NL, I blame the writers for not knowing who the heck her character is and for putting her right back into the same boring pairing she was in before she left. I agree those scenes were awful but this whole storyline is awful. They need to make her Emily and put her Lucky and be done with it, end of story. NL and GV actually have chemistry and it would be interesting to see how Emily would deal with remembering who she is and then being in love with lucky in the midst of it.

oh sueboo.......I'm not going to even touch that one.....I don't know what the norm is for remembering your dead child since I've never and hopefully will never experience that....I guess she should just not ever bring it up.......

I will say that I was thoroughly surprised that KeMo was mentioned....talk about the last thing I expected....lol....

This week really didn't have many standout performances for me...I guess Jess Walton is a good choice......so she's mine....

I am not a Sam fan or A Kelly Monaco fan, but I can appreciate a well written statement. As someone who has commented many times on Sonny's supposedly super sperm, I was floored when I heard comments I know I have made many many times come to life on my screen. It was a nod to fans and as such I enjoyed it. That Sam who has lost one of Sonny's many children and has experienced Sonny's sperm I was glad she said it. It would only have been better coming from Carly.

Tina, ITA with you about Kelly Monaco Smile Those lines were *Hilarious* and she delivered them brilliantly. Every once in awhile Guza remembers that KeMo is funny and he'll give her something light and comedic to do and I love that!

Oh and Morasco Fiasco - LOL!!

I look forward to DC's ATWT watchers talking about Monday's ep in the next performer of the week podcast or CBS podcast. Quest Particularly J.Bernard's take on Nicholas Galbraith's scenes in the 4/27 episode.

My performer of the week was Grant Aleksander from his scenes at Ravenwood. I enjoyed him so much holding back and listening to the crap that Alan was spewing from his mouth. Whenever he punched him out I thought it was great! My honorable mention is definitely the beautiful Gina T.

Dishonorable mention: Jackie M. Wood Where I am sooo glad to see her character yell at Rick, I just felt I was in the audience at a high school greek play! It was just poorly rehearsed, and it seemed that she just yelled her lines when she felt like it. Jamey is right on with that inflection. Kyle Lowder was alright...but I'm sick of seeing these two. If they are going to give them a storyline, I need at least a one month break from those two. NOT impressed.

Wow good episode,

Let's see I think Kelly M was the only person I REALLY laughed at and REALLY enjoyed with on US Soaps this past week, that one line made the HD episode and really made the week lol.

On the topic of Lucy vs. Spencer -- I will take this Lucy anyday over Spencer -.-

I feel bad for the actors from OLTL cancer fiasco s/l that Frons is pimping and is badly ruined. I glad that someone is telling Sonny to keep it in his pants, LOL.

I'm surprised that Nia Peeples (Karen from Y&R) wasn't mentioned for Performer of the Wweek or at least an honorable mention. It was her final set of scenes on Monday and she went out on top! Her confrontation with Neil was amazing and then to turn around and have Devon, Tyra and Anna to witness it. Her body language - she just physically broke down from embarassment. I'll never forget it.

Just listened, I agree about all the OLTL mentions. I would add Starr as a dishonable mention, she's way to, I just don't know.

Hmm, I bet Tina picks Jax as her next performer of the week because he punched Sonny. Just finished watching that scene. Kudos to Maurice Benard for acting that out, there's no bigger pussy on daytime than Jax, lol.

Hahah I just got my itunes working again and catching up on all my missed podcasts. haha Jamey your impression of Steff and Ridge almost made me spit out my water. I really need to be careful when listening to you guys. Thanks for all the laughs. And NL/Rebecca and Ethan need to leave PC and get off our screens.
