Sherri Shepherd’s Lifetime Comedy Pick Up

The View co-host Sherri Shepherd just got a pick up. Her comedy, Sherri, for the cable network Lifetime was recently picked up for 12 episodes. According to Variety, the show will tape in New York allowing Shepherd to continue on at The View.

"Sherri," in which Shepherd’s character will juggle being a single mom, paralegal and actress, will mark the first self-owned comedy to air on the cabler. Series reteams Shepherd with exec producers Terri Minsky, Nina Wass and Gene Stein, all of whom worked together on "Less Than Perfect."

I wish Sherri well. I kinda sorta liked her character on Less Than Perfect and kinda sorta liked her character on Everybody Loves Raymond and kinda sorta liked her character on 30 Rock. As for The View, she comes across as being an imitation of Star Jones (Star Jones, the 2nd coming) in terms of everyday, she’s sporting a different wig and it’s little over the top for my taste and some other things that bothers me. Maybe in Sherri’s mind, she’s just playing a character on the show – The View. I wish her well.
