DC #403: ABC Chanel No. 5

Hey, guys, great podcast, I do agree that ABC wants out of the soaps, too. They can't act like they don't want to continue to air soaps when the soaps isn't making any money for them and the bad writing and acting has tune people out. But it would be Frons fault for letting AMC go to heck and hiring bad head writers after bad head writers.

OLTL is just as bad. RC is a great writer, but Frons needs to let him write what he wants to write and stop interfering with his work. Resign Robin Strasser and bring back A Martinez as Ray. I do agree that the redo of the rape is overrated and they need to get over it. I not saying that Marty needs to forget what happens to her, but to let it just take over her life all over again is not working and let Marty be a stronger woman and be a mother to Cole.

GH needs to get its act together because it is bad. I can't watch this soap anymore and Frons, Guza and Phelps needs to go, NOW. This mess of a soap needs an overhaul, now. I would get rid of Natalia, Sarah, Tony, Olivia, and Winfred and get Vanessa back to spike up the ratings a bit. I don't know what GH would do next, it wouldn't surprise me what GH would do next. (:

OLTL - What was the cool twist in the KAD storyline?

I hear the next ABC blackout is 5/18, 5/19 & 5/20...

OLTL - I love the teens, however, they have been on way too much lately and it's not even summer yet.

I am so disgusted & frustrated of the abcd soaps, all I can say is they are FUBAR.
Getting rid of talent like Rick Hearst, Megan Ward, dissing/dismissing the vets, screwing up great couple parings--LIASON, Spixie, Skate, Scrubs & (even LuSam made Sam McCall tolerable for me. Killing off Alan & Emily--only to bring them back in bizzare ways--why not just have them ride off into the sunset for an easier return if need be. I still can't believe how they pulled Genie Francis in, just to break up a legendary supercouple. She should have just stayed in that coma. And Constance Towers was on for, what, a minute? Great to see her--too bad they aren't going to use her other than as a shill, like they do with Anna, Robert & even Laura. Bait & switch!
As to bringing on newbies (ie: Ethan) when they already have a huge cast of talent, but don't utilize them, I just have to ask why? And now soras'ing the kids (that we have no real attachment to with new characters) will only make GH more disjointed than it already is. I would rather have seen Dylan Cash stay in the role & let the kid age on screen like they did with Kim Mc. My biggest pet peeve is rewriting GH history & rewriting character's histories.

I took part in the Friday, May 1st boycott, but it's hard to boycott what your already not watching! I hate the thought of losing AMC, even as bad as it has gotten. Why don't TIIC get it? Replacing a soap with a talk show is such a joke & not worth my tuning into abcd at all.

The only thing that can bring GH back from the edge is to GET RID OF FRONS! He is singlehandedly ruining ALL 3 abcd soaps. I would love to see Sri Rao write for GH fulltime, but I wonder if he would have to put up with Frons' constant meddling. Bob Guza & Chuck Pratt are no prizes either. Ron Calivetti was doing a great job unil Fron got involved. Where is Anne Sweeney in all of this? Is there NO ACCOUNTABILITY at all at abcd??? I'm a once-too-many-times pissed off fan.

I don't mind the Corinthos family. Like it or not the character of Sonny has been on GH for sixteen years, he's a vet and he has family. Let's focus on family issues here. I know people want other vets to get airtime, hell I want a save Bobbie Spencer campaign. I can recall many of the current vets on GH when they first started, and how upset I was when they took airtime away from the original vets. I recall my older friends telling me how mad they were that Leslie and Ric were taking away airtime from Steve and Audrey and so on and so on.

I forgot to mention, you guys gotta read Nancy Lee Grahn's interview with tvguide about Kristina and whats coming up. What she says about Jason is priceless.

Had the same reaction to the poisonings...that god its over. And YEAH why on earth is stacy constantly in her undies. But the bigger question I keep asking myself is if JPL, like Melissa Gallo, has talent in just their hair. Gallo was vanilla til she got her hair cut and JPL had the reverse, he lost his mojo since he cut his hair. Every time I see him these days I think of Joey Tribiani and the smell the fart method of acting LOL.

I would love to see KeMo do a week on the View and it would be a smart decision on Frons' part to have her do the show - she is one of the most visible and popular young actresses at abc.

Eight weeks?? How about 2 of the 3 for each show - AMC - AM, SL and/or CS, OLTL BW, MA and/or KD, and GH KeMo, LW and/or SJB. Sounds good to me.

Regan, you broke my heart with that GH Olivia news. I love her and have been hoping that she would get an actual storyline, but to quote Jillian, hell to the no. Johnny and Claudia need to take a vacation to Springfield, so Phillip can pitch both their asses off a cliff. UGH!

I think the killer is going to turn out to be that nurse that seems to be waaaay too involved with David.

I haven't heard anything definitive, but I'm assuming the cool rumored twist with the KAD storyline was that the killer was supposed to be Jess/Bess/Tess, which, IMHO, would have been far more explosive and dramatic than what they actually did, and would have given a more natural weaving of the KAD killer and babyswap stories together than the one I hear they already have in the works.

Great podcast, btw, as always. I haven't watched OLTL in two weeks, and considering how bad it was the last time I watched I don't really regret it. I'm watching AMC right now (after not watching in about 2 years), and it's just as bad as I've been hearing in the past few months. While I think this murder mystery may have had potential as an idea, I can already see it bombing big time. Jamey's reveal that the murderer is going to be someone disappointing and nonsensical really doesn't surprise me.

Damn shows you how little I watch or pay attention to AMC. So the cardio doc is dead than yeah it has to be that nurse chick. Sharp thinking Season.

And lriegel - I know Regan was hoping/thinking it was Bess/Tess/Jess/hotmess too - because it wasnt she is sporting some awesome JaSam flair on her facebook page for the next five days. LOL

Season...that was going to be my guess as well! I think her name is Gail. Knowing how pathetic AMC Pratt is, I have no doubt that the killer would be that lame! And she'll probably say that she did it for David who only speaks to her when he needs something.

I don't believe Eden has a bigger draw than cady. I mean when cady's character died that horrible death ratings went down. When cady return as a GHOST ratings went up again. Then went ghost Dixie left it went right back down.
Get rid of AMC cause that's the only one I dont watch anymore.

And the KAD thing sucks cause John is the focus. And Sole are on way to much.

Great podcast as always. LOL at the Stacy in her undies comment. It seems to me that if Frons was as creative as he fancies himself to be, he oould figure out a way to have Stacy be nekkid all the time. Have her be a model for Cristian's art. She spends all summer at the ocean. In Pennsylvania. She joins a religious sect where clothes are thought to entrap Satan's spirit. She opens Llanview's first Nudist colony. She suddenly develops an allergy to Rex's laundry soap and/or fabric and can no longer wear clothes. The possibilities are endless.

Come to think of it, I bet it's a budgetary thing. "If Stacy is always naked, we don't have to spend money on clothes for her. Stacy needs no wardrobe". It's the same principle for John. He only needs one shirt and pair of pants since he only dresses in black anyway. How are we viewers to know if it's a new shirt or not? It's also why at least one Llanview resident is always in the hospital. Hospital gowns are less expensive to buy than Dorian's Alexis Carrington hat. AND you don't have to accessorize!

All kidding aside, I'm hoping that Nekkid Stacy asks John McPain to protect her from her big bad pimp boss daddy guy and they disappear together "for her safety" off canvas and never return. Please? I promise I'll be good the rest of the year and won't ask for anything else for Christmas!

O__O You guys thought GH was the best show on TV a year ago? IMO, GH is bad now, but it was just as bad a year ago, if not worse.
