Branco should get an Emmy for pretending he just got that email.

I was drawing a blank about Melissa-Clair Egan too. Now that I know who she plays, I can honestly say I like that choice. Psycho Annie is the only thing that keeps me half way interested in AMC when I decide to be a masachist and watch it.

It's good to know you all don't think Laccia is the greatest thing since sliced bread, just because she is part of Otalia. She's okay, but Crystal makes any scene work short of apologizing to your rapist. To be honest, I perfer the idea of Olivia with Buzz or Phillip, because if the writing is not there, Crystal has better help.

Oh, and before I forget. I think Branson was nominated in part due to Frons making it happen. He's the most powerful person that will do something and he wants Branson after GL is done. He can't do everything, but with GL being cancelled and ATWT going to be cancelled showing Bloom doesn't care, he has the most influence. Maybe he wants Days on ABC.

I still say Billy Magnussen should have gotten a nom in Younger Actor for his 2008 work. He's a good actor and did very good work last year.
.

Granted I was multi-tasking while listening but did you guys discuss Van Hansis' nom? Quest I swear I only heard discussion on the other 4 noms.
.

I still can't get over the Outstanding Dramas noms. Ugh.

I'm very happy about Van. It's hard to traverse from younger to supporting. I guess we got sidetrack. I hear Van could win this year.

That's old news. I think I wrote it in a blind item eons ago, and hinted at it in a news item when he was fired.

I can't believe that Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy didn't get nominated. They had some really awesome scenes.

I am not shocked KA and BB were nominated. I mean give them a couple of years. BB inst a good enough actor YET to be nominated.

And no Tina and Jamie. Bree Williamson WAS great! Deserves her nomination and win I think thats why so many ppl are rooting for her. Shes was amazing during nash's funeral. Sorry Natalie couldn't be nominated since all she did was smudge her face and fake cry.

GO BREE GO BREE GO BREE!!!!!!!

I'm interested in seeing what the GL women sent in. I've heard conflicting reports that Crystal C sent in scenes that took place before the heart transplant with Kim Zimmer and then finding out Gus had died but I have also heard she submitted scenes with Bradley Cole's Jeffrey. But Gina and Kim had the material to get a nom also.

Its that kind of year when Constantine gets a Tony nomination and almost all of the younger actor nominees will either be off contract or on recurring by the time the show airs.

It is stupid that the Emmys (which should be used as a PR tool) will be about performances that are nine months old by the time it gets an award.

I do think Daniel Cosgrove deserved the emmy.
That boy carried GL in all of 2008 and that can't have been easy.
He had a lot of dark stuff going on, discovering he was blind, baby max dying, the marriage to Ava after finding out the baby wasn't his. I wonder if he submitted stuff featuring the new production model or the old?
There was nothing good ol' boy lewis about him in 2008, if there had been I wouldn't have had my Bizzie heart broken all of last year.

I had to check wiki because everyone's like "HOW OLD IS BRYTON, DAMMIT!?!"

He's 22. The cut off for the younger section is 25. So... he's still got at least 3 (maybe 4, since you can be nominted at 26 if you turned 26 ala Alicia Leigh Willis and I think Aiden Turner) years before he can't make it no more. Assuming he's on for 3 or 4 more years.

See one reason I do not agree with Nelson is the fact, that Branson, Gosgrove and EJ all submitted material from the Production switch.

If they were so turned off then why did they make it in.

I do not think people in the industry are all that turned off by GL, the acting and production values from June to now has been great.

Why would industry people care how GL looks and base the votes on that?

I really hope Days can have some wins in acting . Their best hope are Blake Berris and Rachel Melvin.
I have to see the reels but while I like Kirsten Storms, I think that she could have won last year. But this year, she didn't have the material. I think Melvin is underestimated. She had great material this year.If she submitted the right scenes,I think she should and will get it.
I thought Alderson submitted the wrong material.

Reguardless of Tina's hate, I'd rather have had Maurice Benard get a nomination than Tony Geary. First, he's there all year, he doesn't take all those vactions that Geary does, or even Ingo gets. Second, he had more stuff to do, all the stuff with Kate, which was good. In the end he deserved it more than Geary.

Even though I am so sick of Jason, Steve was good last year and should been nominated.

This may seem minor compared to some of the snubs, but I forgot to mentione in other threads how bummed I am about Tuc Watkins not getting a nod.

siomonstuart2003, I agree with you. Even though I loath Jason, he should of at least gotten a pre-nom. I don't think he's that great of an actor, but he's there all year and has tons and tons of story, unlike Geary. Wouldn't all the kidnap stuff with Jake have counted. I love Tony Geary, but put your self in supporting if your gonna nominate yourself, your there for less than half a year.

I think GL's production model did cost the show. GL only earned 4 nominations in total. It's what I think cost them best show in a category that awards high standards in production. I am surprised Reva and Josh's romantic Always wedding did not net them writing, and acting nods for Kim and Robert. Jeff, Daniel have lots of friends from other shows, and EJ? That was probably a fluke in a non-crowded category.

I really like the Best Supporting Actress Category....All the nominees deserved to be there, and Crystal Chapelle should've been there as well....Bree was FANTASTIC during Nash's death and funeral on OLTL

Best Actor was a mess with no Trevor St. John or Eric Braeden....Tony Geary has no business getting nominated....either him or Christian Jules Leblanc will win again

I love Jacob Young (he should've won at least 1 Emmy for JR Chandler) and Vincent Irizzary (David Hayward is one of my top 5 soap characters EVER) but they both shouldn't have been nominated this year....EJ Bonilla had NO RIGHT to be nominated, especially over Brandon Buddy

I'm really glad that Debbi Morgan, Cornelius Smith Jr., Melissa Claire Egan and Alicia Minshew getting nominated

Im thoroughly disgusted with almost of the categories. I don't care what Y&R submitted for Outstanding Drama Series...Anyone with any modicum of awareness for soap operas knows that Y&R is in the upper echelon of soaps. Point blank period.

The whole emmy process is disgusting and needs to be revamped.
