ET Online caught Josh Duhamel on the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen red carpet and asked him about the incident between celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.Am. Josh's response:
"When you get rich saying hateful things sometimes you ask for it," Duhamel says."It's an unfortunate incident and I hope it goes away."
The incident in question centers around Perez Hilton accusing Will.i.Am of punching him in the face at a MuchMusic Video Awards after party. Hilton even released an image of himself with the injury beneath his eye. Will.i.Am has responded (see clip after the jump) with a video blog explaining he was trying to defend his band mate Fergie–Josh's wife–after she spoke with Hilton about his less than favorable coverage. Will.i.Am claims a fan punched Hilton, not a member of his entourage. TMZ has a video clip of the incident on its website.

I have to agree with hottie Josh! I'm surprised someone hasn't clocked Perez earlier.
I used to enjoy Perez' blog but now he is just hateful and his reports are filled with lies.
Perez come back to earth, you aren't all that, sweetie.

I see a murder mystery coming on As The Red Carpet Turns. Who shot Perez?
Was it: Will-i-Am, Fergie, Beyonce, Zac Efron, Mariah Carey...the list goes on...and everyone claims to be the guilty party.

I really think it wasn't the right thing to punch him, but come on ... it's Perez Hilton.
He talks about how bad violence is and that it's never the answer. Perez faced physical violence ... after he makes a living out of psychological violence on other people for years now. Maybe that should tell him something.
But after people like John Mayer try to talk to him in this direction, I really do believe this guy lives in his own world, can use the F-word and ruin other people's life and careers and he still thinks that he is the biggest victim in all of that.
He is such a hypocrite.

i love how Perez said "well you are FAG will i am!" isnt that hypocritical of him talking about gay rights just to use it against someone!?

I agree with Josh. Violence isnt the answer, but when you run your mouth the way Perez does, you have to know someone eventually is going to clock you.

It was bound to happen at some point... thankfully for me a few certain soap stars don't vacation in Ohio.

I can completely understand the impulse to punch a jerk in the face (especially if that person has talked sh*t about you). However, it's completely unacceptable. I can't help identifying with Perez to a certain degree. I've trashed Molly Burnett lots of times, but I don't think I deserve for her or one of her fans to punch me!!! LOL

I still love 'My' Perez..I'm not a Pea's fan and don't really intend on becoming one ESP now... While I have a LOT of respect for J.D. for having the brains to get out of Train Wreck Valley when he did, I hope his wife's bandmates think about what they did. You don't hit!
God, I sound like I'm scolding a kid. tee!

I know if I was assaulted, the first thing I'd do is tweet about it. (/sarcasm)

Seems to me we dont know who threw the punch for certain. I just get the sense that Perez saw his chance for headlines and took it.

Hitting is wrong. It's bad. There has to be another solution than to hit.
Having said all that, I'm glad it happened to Perez.

I just cannot believe how many fans this man has. His website is hateful! Why do people like this nonsense? At first he accused Will.i.am of hitting him (when according to the video Perez is following behind Will). Then he says that it is the manager but Will is behind it.
Who tweets to call the police when it is much simpler to dial 911? Someone obviously looking for attention.
So now that Perez has said the 2nd F word, is it alright for everyone to use it? I hope not! What a douche.
And please do not equate NOT liking Perez with being against the gay community. His behavior and attitude is a rarity, not the norm.

You are no Perez Hilton, and I mean that in a good way.

I'm now picturing that scene from the movie, Airplane, where people are lined up to bitch-slap one of the characters. LOL! Whoever attacked Hilton may have opened up a can of whoopass worms that may not ever be sealed again! Suddenly, I can't wait to see Hilton out on the nightlife scene again!

Carrie Prejean is probably laughing at him for his just desserts and it wasn't about her. He is a jacka#$ and he deserves what he got and Wil.I.Am didn't punch him, a fan did and he should be careful who he talks about because people don't play. Do he talk smack about 50 cents? Dr. Dre? Suge Knight? TI? No, he knows better not to mess with them.

"When you get rich saying hateful things sometimes you ask for it," Duhamel says."It's an unfortunate incident and I hope it goes away."
I'll bet Duhamel hopes it goes away. It's not very good publicity when your wife is involved in a situation of someone being physically assaulted. And it doesn't help when Duhamel himself publicly makes an excuse for that illegal physical assault. Personally, I can't stand Hilton's idiotic blog, but violence is against the law and not the answer.

Violence is wrong and if you do the crime, you have to do the time, but Perez definitely had bad karma coming his way. His blog is way too egotistical and self-promoting to be enjoyable. Personally, I prefer Dlisted. He doesn't take himself seriously and he's clever and funny with his social commentary. Perez is just nasty and hurtful.
