GL: What Would Lillian Do?
How might Lillian Raines react to Olivia and Natalia as a couple? This is one of the questions asked in an Inside the Actor's Studio styled interview with Tina Sloan at Red Room.
On how Lillian Raines would react to Olivia and Natalia as a couple:Lillian would be the first person to support them. She'd say to Olivia and Natalia, "Go for it!" I really believe this. She's a nurturer and a champion of true love. You know, I really, really wanted Lillian to play the role of supportive friend to Natalia (which turns out to be Blake's role), but the writers had other ideas for Lillian - the current story line with Philip, which I love being a part of. I love getting to do scenes with Grant (Aleksander) and I love it that Lillian is the one person who knows the truth about his diagnosis but, before I knew about this dramatic development, I was really hoping Lillian would be the person Natalia would turn to for support and advice.

I know I have already sang her praises once today, but I'm going to take the liberty to sing them again. Lillian Raines is one of the best characters on Guiding Light, period. Everything she does is whole-hearted, kind, and loving. She is great in SO many ways. Especially LilliBuzz. They are wondrous and adorable together. Both are OUTSTANDING performers. Lillian, if you weren't so old, I think I would marry you : )
This was an excellent article. I love the character of Lillian and am particularly enjoying her relationship with Phillip during this trying time. Would have loved to have seen her as Natalia's confidant.
Tina Sloan is quite the Otalia fan isn't she? I've seen a couple other articles where she expressed her love of the storyline and an interest in being part of it. CC might have competition for biggest Otalian (is that what they're called?), lol
anyways, I totally agree with CGat, Lillian (and Tina) is at the top of the GL pool, she always has been. it's great to see her involved in a front burner storyline again, she's just legend and the work she is doing opposite Grant is such quality stuff, playing on the history between the two. but it's bittersweet too to see Lillian being utilized again as well as others, I feel like I'm finally getting to see all the characters I've been wanting to see for so long just in time for it to end:( gosh why is Guiding Light going off?
Tina Sloan is awesome. Lillian would've made a great addition to the Otalia storyline had she not become invovled in Phillip's plot (which she's been wonderful in). I love how enthusiastic she is about Olivia and Natalia. I hope once the town clues in to their relationship we at least get a small scene where Lillian can show her support, I'd really like to see that.
Tina Sloan is gun ho on getting into the mix. Like a true pro. I enjoy her role on GL. Love seeing the veterans on the show giving support to the next generation.
Can we get a wishful casting for Tina Sloan? Jamey we need your help on this.
With her love for Otalia, I'd love to see her move to OLTL and be Kyle's mother, an extremely supportive and caring mother, who like Lillian suffered at the hands of an abusive husband which would explain Kyle's deceptiveness (talk about wishful casting). I'd love to see her go toe to toe with Fish's extremely conservative parents once they are cast.
