Bill and Lizzie's Wedding on GL (Images)

During this week's CBS and Days of Our Lives podcast episode (to air Tuesday) we had an interesting discussion about what each of us would consider to  be our "final memory" of Guiding Light. Crystal Hunt's Lizzie is the reason I started watching GL and I have been looking forward to the marriage of Marcy Rylan's Lizzie to Bill (Daniel Cosgrove) for a very long time. As I mention in the podcast, after watching Beth and Alan's almost wedding earlier in the year I was anticipating a big church wedding.  Obviously that' not what I got on today's episode, but no matter how good or bad GL may get between now and the end the moment pictured above is going to be what I think of when I think of Guiding Light.

The wedding wasn't what I had immagined myself but I wasn't dissapointed. I expected the worst quite frankly and I was prepared to start ranting and raving about how bad it was...but it wasn't, it was really a beautful wedding! It was shot lovely, the entire episode had something for everyone, not just for the bizziefans and Daniel Cosgrove and Marcy Rylan's chemistry is just so awe inspiring that even in the caps, it is visible.

I loved it and I will forever cherish this episode, this Bizzie fan was very satisfied with the outcome.

What a beautiful and special day it was for us Bizzie fans and Bizzie themselves. Their wedding was perfect. I cried from the moment Alan stepped out from behind the trees till the end. You can just see how much Bill and Lizzie truly love each other. I couldn't have asked GL to do any better at this wedding than they did. It was great to see Bizzie's friends and family there to share in their special day. This will be a wedding that I will remember forever. Emotion filled and special moments.

I agree I was sort of expecting something to happen but I am so glad that we were able to see a "normal" wedding. I love this couple together and am glad their ending on a good/happy note. And I love how Dinah was the Maid of Honor.

I just have one question ... Why was everyone acting like this was their first ever marriage??? I get their each others forever but they've done this before.

This Bizzie fan could not be any happier. This Guiding Light Lifer could not be any happier. It has been a long and winding road for us fans and Bizzie theirselves, our pay-off today was purely magical. No it wasn't a big hoopla of a wedding with Lizzie and Bill spending thousands of dollars on it, it was all about love, hope, faith, family, and just them being happy and being together finally.

I think their wedding has further proven how far each of these characters have evolved. I especially loved Bill's vows!

Dinah was right, Springfield is magical. Love is contagious, I say bring on a Vanilly wedding!!

Today's show was pure gold with the exception of Rafe's nasty mouth and Remy & Christina's drunkiness loud mouthed behavior.

Thank you Guiding Light from the bottom of my Bizzie heart!!!!! And Luke, I am with you when I think back on some of my fondest memories with Guiding Light that capture pic is going to be at the top of my list!!

I guess when you marry the love of your life it is like your first marriage.
Lizzie had three weddings, one with Coop that Jon busted in on and broke up because of the baby, one with Jon because of the baby and one with Jon that Bill broke up.

Bill had some joke of a drunken wedding with Beth eons ago, a wedding with Liv in a jail cell so that she wouldn't be deported and a wedding with Ava just because she tricked him into having a baby.

In a sense it really was their first wedding!!!

Oh wow. So, this was the ultimate wedding. today was truly magical. I am so glad I got to see one final, beautiful Springfield wedding. And, it was. Everything I would have hoped for for Bill and Lizzie. OMG, why must you end GL?

I loved the last 5 minutes of Friday's pre-wedding episode where everyone came out from behind the trees with the chairs and flowers. Just lovely. The actual wedding was just great. Wonderful to see Vanessa and Billy and Phillip and Beth and Alex and Alan. The GL production model really worked well for this wedding - beautifully shot. The simple, family-oriented wedding really epitomizes what GL is all about. I am not even a Bizzie fan and I loved it - except for Asshat Rafe, who really needs to take Father Ray and leave town.

The difference in this wedding, is that really neither one have had a wedding totally and completely based on love, so in a sense it is a first "real" wedding for both of them. There is no reason for them to be getting married other than the simple fact that they are each others soul mates and have found true love.

Bill and Lizzie love each other not despite of their pasts but BECAUSE of their pasts.

And I forgot to mention....Damn Beth & Phillip are HOT!!!

Yeah this was worth it to see the chemistry between these two they really have it on GL. This is the greatest escape in daytime. GL will be missed.

Really good wedding for Bizzie, so many good things about it, even if it was simple. Like another poster said, seeing all the family and friends come out of hiding to surprise them, even grumpy Alan showing up for his "Elizabeth", Bill and Michelle having a moment, Phillip and Lizzie time. So much good stuff, and like another poster said Phillip and Beth sure still have it, after all these years. The ONLY thing that ruined it was that ass Rafe making unnecessary comments to Liv. He really needs to go away!

My hats off to the cast & crew of Guiding Light..They got the Lizzie/ Bill wedding right...I thought Friday's episode was great too...It was cool that the writer(Drunk captured the relationships and their history during this event. (Matt and Dinah, Frank and Blake, Mindy and Dinah being Bill's sister, Emma being Lizzie's sister, Alan and Alexandra, Michele Bauer and Bill...etc .etc) GOOD JOB! I think this episode is a keeper..I hope someone load it up onto You Tube so I can enjoy it for years to come..Reminded me of the Morgan/Kelly wedding at Laurel Falls with all of the Bauers and friends in attendance. And Guess what? I love the new production model...

FINALLY! I was so expecting to be mad and pissed because of the bootleg start of a Twinkie cake and Pringles with bows from Friday. But as I watched today's episode, I found myself becoming more and more happy with the outcome. I have been a Bizzie fan since they set eyes on each other on November 13, 2007 (Yes, that is obsessive, I know the exact date Tongue LOL) so this day was long in coming. I had expected a huge, blowout Spaulding/Lewis wedding, but today's wedding was absolutely beautiful. Just the simpliest of green plants, rugs and chairs made for an intimate, romantic and sweet setting. A welcomed contrast to the extremes of their past dramas. I have watched GL for a very long time. I even remember the original Reva and Josh-OO-a wedding, but this one, with its simplier sets and reduced budget was just as lush and romantic as that splashy wedding from the 80s. Guiding Light did a fantastic job and I am very pleased with the Bizzie Wedding. It was a nice touch to wrap up their storybooked romance. I am a happy Bizzie fan, for sure!!!

Oh, by the way....Why was Big Mouth Ashlee there? She almost ruined it. What an annoying character.

Today's Bizzie wedding is going to go down as one of my favorite daytime weddings ever! This truly was a magical day. I hope that other shows take a lesson that it is possible to NOT have a big spoiler at a wedding and still pull off a magical event. Kudos to GL for today's episode.

It was a beautiful wedding, Marcy Rylan is glowing with her pregnant state and the way she kept giggling throughout the ceremony was adorable. Thumbs up, GL!

Highlight for me as a Manny diehard was Rick telling Michelle that she and Danny had already been married 27 times when she said the wedding made her want to do it again...too funny. It was only 6 times, but 27 sounds better Smile

On Friday I was afraid that GL was going to screw up the Bizzie wedding. Watching them running around making twinkie cakes and butting bows on Pringle cans was stupid, but GL turned it around on Monday with a nice ceremony! At first I cringed when I saw they were going to have the wedding in the middle of a grassy field that looked muddy and like it hadn't been mowed in ages, but with the acting and writing I ended up really enjoying it!
