I’m back from vacation and have seen six episodes pretty much back to back, so I thought I’d comment on a couple of things from this past week.
First off, kudos to Sarah Brown. Anyone who is capable of making me feel bad for a character that I do not like, has some talent. I thought she did a bang up job from the moment she woke up from the surgery, to her crying with Johnny and her snarking at Kelly and Liz. My only complaint is why was her brain surgery done through her neck?
I love, love, love Johnny (Brandon Barash). He’s my new Ric! I love how he tells Sonny like it is. I also loved his tenderness towards Claudia and his scene with Morgan. I also love that, for now, he seems to have taken the high road with Olivia.
I love nuMorgan and I think he did a great job in the scene with Johnny and the following CarJax/Jason scene.
I hate that Mac is made to look like a mean guy for charging someone who confessed. I loved that Michael had the smarts to go and confess in the first place, but hated that Jason was willing to prevent him from being punished, so far as to bring Robin into it.
As for Michael, I have mixed feelings about his confession and possible jail time. Part of me feels that he’s still too young to understand his actions, especially considering the coma. The other part of me thinks that he should sit in jail, at least for the night, so that he understands that following in Sonny’s footsteps is not all that it’s cracked up to be.
I'm not sure how I feel about Sonny yelling at Michael. I’d understand his grief a little bit better if he hadn’t still been plotting Claudia’s demise as early as that morning. I thought Drew Garrett did a great job in that final scene when he looked shocked and a little sick to his stomach about the baby’s death.
