General Hospital Hits a 2.0 in Households; Y&R Rebounds

Well shut my mouth and call Aisha Tyler and tell her not so fast! All eight daytime soap operas gained total viewers the week of July 20-24 (Source: SON). Leading the charge was CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless, which added a whopping 333,000 total viewers over the previous week. Y&R also went up two-tenths of a point in households and two-tenths of a point among women 18-49. Sister soap The Bold and the Beautiful saw an increase of 192,000 total viewers and went up one-tenth of a ratings point in households. B&B also went up one-tenth of a point among women 18-49.

As The World Turns showed signs of life, adding 168,000 total viewers. ATWT went up one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women18-49. Even cancelled sudser Guiding Light surged, seeing an increase of 121,000 total viewers. GL went up one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women 18-49.

Over at ABC General Hospital proved it was still a contender, adding a staggering 304,000 total viewers. GH hit a 2.0 again for the first time in a dog's age, going up two-tenths up a point in households. GH also went up one-tenth of a ratings point among the coveted women 18-49 demo. One Life to Live added 113,000 total viewers, yet stayed the same in households, tying it's all-time low rating in that demographic. OLTL went up one-tenth of a point among women 18-49. All My Children added 88,000 gluttons for punishment. AMC went up one-tenth of a point in households and held steady among women 18-49.

Days of Our Lives posted the least gains, adding only 14,000 total viewers over the previous week. DAYS held steady in households, tying it's all-time low in that demo (No fear, September's almost here!). DAYS also held steady among women 18-49.
