It's that time of the week soap fans! The ratings for the week of Aug. 10-14 are in and things are looking up for daytime's number one soap. (Source: SON) The Young and the Restless added 181,000 viewers over the previous week. Y&R went up one-tenth a ratings point in households and held steady among women 18-49. Y&R's much-improved sister sudser The Bold and the Beautiful saw an increas of 77,000 viewers over the previous week. B&B also went up one-tenth of a ratings point in households, as well as women 18-49.

As The World Turns, which like B&B is experiencing a creative turnaround of late, also went up in total viewers, adding 73,000 viewers over the previous week. ATWT went up one-tenth of a point in households and held steady among women 18-49. The only CBS soap to lost total viewers the week of Aug. 10-14 was Guiding Light. GL shedded 65,000 total viewers as the 72-year-old sudser's finale fast approaches. GL dropped one-tenth of a ratings point in households, yet held steady among women 18-49.

Over at the Mouse House, General Hospital was the only soap up among total viewers. GH added 82,000 watchers over the previous week, however the soap didn't budge in households or among women 18-49. Proving there is no accounting for taste, 97,000 people tuned One Life to Live out who watched the prior week (Seriously people, THIS is the soap to watch!). OLTL went down one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women 18-49. OLTL tied its all-time low rating in both demographics. All My Children lost 91,000 total viewers over the previous week. AMC also went down one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women 18-49.

Days of Our Lives continued to prove why NBC should make good on their option to renew the soap through 2011. While DAYS only went up 38,000 total viewers, the soap went up one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women 18-49. DAYS was down a little over half a million total viewers year-to-date, due to the push it received from last year's Olympics on NBC.
