ok two people that beautiful is a crime. It is always nice to see people (actors) giving themselves to a cause they believe in.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to see him hugged up with a dude?

I don't see how this stops or helps the fight against hate but whatever floats your boat.

They are a hot couple and glad they are campaigning for a good cause.

I think they are two of the most beautiful people I've ever seen photographed, honestly. HOWEVER, for the campaign they are promoting wouldn't a couple like the guys who play Luke/Noah on ATWT or Kyle/Fish on OLTL or something along those lines be more appropriate?

Anyway, despite that I applaud them for trying to bring attention to the topic.

I think a straight couple doing the campaign is actually more powerful. They don't necessarily have a horse in the race, yet it is still this important for them to speak out against hatred.

I just want it to be known that I didn't get into this discussion until now.

However, I would like to reiterate something I've been saying for a long, long time now. In 20 years, people will be looking back on THIS time in our history and they will remark how backwards we were back in the early years of the 21st century because loving people didn't have the right to get married in some parts of America.

I may not be gay, but I am Canadian (which is a close second), so I am proud that I live in a country where my friends WHO ARE ALREADY PARENTS are able to show their children they can live as a united entity that is recognized by our society. YES!

Does anyone doubt that Ellen and Portia love each other? I sure haven't seen any evidence to the contrary. On the other hand, Sean Penn and Robin Wright? What the hell is going on there? I don't really care, other than the fact that I am rooting for them to work things out. Regardless of their personal situations, Sean and Robin are married and that is never in doubt. Ellen and Portia? Well, they were married, but was it rescinded? Um, maybe not, but...it's RIDICULOUS! I see how they smile when they speak about each other. How can anyone say they shouldn't be married?

I think it's great they did it! First of all they are HOT!!! together. Secondly, people only change their minds on issues when they see others like themselves accepting the issue. It was the same during the civil rights era. A gay person will seldomly convince a straight audience. But a straight person can sway them. That is how people are. They listen to their own kind. So I say straight people joining the gay rights cause is the only way gay rights will happen.

I'm sure there will be some ads with openly gay celebrities as well but I do think that it's important for straight people who believe in equal rights for gays to say so openly and campaign for them, especially if they're celebrities and have some influence. Them doing this as a straight couple IMO sends the message that they understand that a gay couple in love are the same as a straight one and have just as much right to be together and choose the course of their future together themselves rather than having certain options taken off the table from the get go simply because they happen to be with someone of the same gender.

I'm sick of celebrities having such a platform (media) to voice their opinions. I just want to watch them act, if they can. And I'm certainly not against gays, in fact I'm a fag hag. Remember....opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!
