Will Susan Lucci's Fate on All My Children be Decided This Week?

A little birdie (Wait, since it's Disney, shouldn't it be a little mousie?) has informed me ABC Daytime Chief Brian Frons is in New York this week for the premiere of his lineup's crowning jewel The View. Also reportedly on the agenda, is a sit down between Fronsie, Julie Hanan Caruthers and daytime's First Lady Susan Lucci about her future on All My Children.  An on set mole tells me Ryan (Cameron Mathison) and Erica's cougar storyline was put on hold as the soap "worked out contract negotiations", yet was now expected to pick up steam. Hmmm....

In other news from Pine Valley, 90210, don't count Thorsten Kaye out as Zach just yet. Sources say the the actor is still mulling over his options, even as high level ABC executives are pushing for Frons to allow the actor to return to One Life to Live with his Emmy-winning significant other Susan Haskell.  Keep checking back with Daytime Confidential as the story develops.

"HIGH LEVEL EXECUTIVES ARE PUSHING FOR FRONS TO ALLOW THE ACTOR TO RETURN TO OLTL"

Wouldn't the high level execs just tell Frons to do it? Or does he hold something over his bosses? That would explain why he still has a job!

It depends on who the "High Level" executives report to, they could be people that report to Frons. I truly don't want to see the Marty/Patrick/Ian show at OLTL. No offense, but I just don't find him playing opposite his wife/partner "acting" in the true sense of the word and how would they fit him in with all the players already on screen since he has always been a major character. I hope they can work something out and he is able to go to LA as Zach "The Mahn" Slater.

As a long time OLTL fan, I am not sure how I feel about Patrick coming back. I think that I would LOVE it at first, all that wonderful soapy drama of them finding him alive etc... but I don't know how great it would be over the long term. Patrick was always such a serious character and while I think there is room for it, I don't want it to take over the show.

On the other hand, it would be much better than losing Susan Haskell again if she chose to move west with her hubby...

This will be intersting in next few days. So, these high level executives can they fire Frons, Craputhers, Pratt, GH's Phelps and Guza, too. Because that is the only ABC soaps will survive.

I don't have much faith in high level executives that allow the head writer to speak about the cast in the way Pratt has spoken of AMC. His comments about the high school mentality on the set and his comments about Eden Riegel were disrespectful. No company should permit its employees to speak about other employees in such a way. I don't recall ever hearing or reading about Agnes Nixon speaking about the AMC cast in such a disrespectful way. She respected the cast and the material she provided to them showed it. Pratt (and the ABC execs) should take a lesson in class and in writing.

I hope La Lucci stays! The show won't be the same without her!

Can OLTL even afford Kaye? OLTL is not swimming in money. Rumor is that Frons ask Valenti to slash the budget by 20%.

OLTL has always ran a tight ship..or so I had read. I heard they were under budget. I think if the show does bring on Thorsten, then it is best to write out three or four current contract characters. I love OLTL, but the canvas is getting too big.

As much as I love Susan Lucci and as much as I would miss my Erica Kane, I actually hope she calls it quits. As long as Brian Frons is ABC Chief of Daytime, as long Julie Hanan Caruthers is producing, and as long as Chuck Pratt is writing, I’m personally through with AMC and I would much rather see it die then have to endure another year of this crap. Most of those actors, and Agnes Nixon, deserve better.

Lucci needs to stay on AMC for sure. It won't be AMC without her. Thorsten can go to OLTL IMO. I don't like what they have done with his character anyway. OLTL could get rid of the entire Rachel/Shaun/Greg s/l because it is so boring. I like those actors but it is just a waste IMO.

I am enjoying the Greg/Rachel/Shaun triangle, but you can count on OLTL getting rid of the actors of color if they do fire some contract actors to make room Kaye. ABC isn't famous for promoting diversity. It rather we suffer the horrible the Gigi/Rex/Stacy and Jessica/Jared/Natalie stories. Don't forget their worse actors, Cole and Starr must be front and center.

I really hope Susan stays, the show needs her in the worse way! Thorston can got to OLTL and still have a great career.
