One Life to Live Spoilers

So, it’s been kind of an amazing week in Llanview. If Starr wasn’t the most annoying character on the show, I would have been rooting for her safe return. But since she is, I kind of wish the Russian mafia (they were Russian, right?) had successfully kidnapped her and Hope and taken them back to Siberia. I will admit that the kidnapping actually gave a great shot of adrenaline to the show. I was really impressed by how most of that played out.
Even better, Nora and Tea in jail together was too delicious for words. And the courtroom stuff about Rachel’s druggie/murderous past was fun, too. Add to that the excellent Dorian/Viki scenes with David Vickers, et. al. at the mayoral debate and basically I was in hog heaven.
Note to the higher-ups (because I know you read this): MORE MATT WALTON as sexy Elijah the Lawyer.
Let’s take a look into the future of Llanview shall we? Here are some of the things I’m looking forward to in the coming week.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD
After Mayor Lowell tenders his resignation, Dorian announces she’ll be running against Viki for the position. Huzzah!!!! I’m am so excited for the upcoming campaign season. Team Dorian all the way! Where do I send a contribution?
To top it off, Dorian hires David to run her “slash and burn” campaign! David should make Obama’s dream team look like hacks.
Kyle and Roxy scenes! My new favorite twosome (it seems they are always drowning their sorrows in a bottle of tequila - my kind of people!) gets to rock it once again as Kyle tells her how he’s totally gotten his life together and moved on from Fish.
Oliver Fish comes out to his parents! Good for him. It does not go well, though. Come on, Mr. and Mrs. Fish - love your son for who he is!
The Todd/Tea/Blair Show (one of my favorite storylines right now) gets an upheaval after Tea calls off the wedding. But don’t worry - they make amends and vow to get married in one week! Oh, and Ross and Blair kiss. But don’t think that will prevent her from ruining Todd and Tea’s nuptials.
Jessica, Brody, Jared, and Natalie team up to get to the bottom of the Nash stalker situation (What? This is still going on? Okay, whatever.)
Cole invites Markko to move into his bachelor pad - fun!
The Verdict in Matthews' lawsuit comes in!
And a big one for you Rex and Gigi fans? Rex asks her to marry him - again!

Gene,,thanks for the OLTL spoilers. OLTL has been on fire recently, I thought I was watching Law and Order today instead of OLTL, the live cop scenes were great, and added a touch of realism to the storyline. I am enjoying the Evans family, we need the Starr than interacted with the man on the wheel storyline and Asa, not the whiny baby since she hooked up with Cole, love Stacy and Kim, I can't believe I am rooting for them now and not Rex & Gigi....

Thanks for the spoilers, Gene. OLTL is my must-see ABC soap, so I really appreciate them. I'm looking forward to the Kyle and Roxy scenes. I love anything w/ Roxy in it. Have you heard anything about when/if they're ever going to answer who Rex's Daddy is? Maybe November Sweeps? I can hope, right?
As for Fish's conservative parents not happy about him being gay, I wonder how they would've felt about him dating a black woman? My ultra-conservative, Republican Grandfather would've DIED if I'd brought home a black man, let alone ever came out to him. Not that I see anything wrong with either thing; I just wonder which Mr. and Mrs. Fish would've been more upset about?

OLTL has been great this week. I liked how all of the kidnapping stuff (and parts connected to it) played out. Great job with acting, writing and especially directing of the scenes.
I have to also agree with liason4real in saying that I would rather watch scenes with Stacy/Kim over Rex/Gigi any day. I just don't like Rex and the way they write Rex/Gigi drives me nuts. I don't mind Gigi in scenes with just about anyone else.

I'm enjoying Commando Brody, Roxy/Kyle, & esp Destiny, Sean, & their cute parents. I would love for Rachel to fall in love w/Sean and realize that Dr. Amazing ain't all he's cracked up to be. Doubt that'll happen tho! Dorian for mayor! Vicky for governor! (PA could really use her, we still don't have a budget passed.)

I agree, this has been a terrific week on OLTL. One small quibble, though: how could Starr have behaved any differently? She and her baby were both in mortal danger. She shouldn't be hysterical? It's better than when Sean's brother saw him wheeled into the E.R. and barely batted an eye. "Hey, that's my brother." What a limply delivered line!

TV Gord- I thought Greg was appropriately emotional. It was really good stuff! I sooooo love OLTL. I actually only started watching because it was spoken so highly of in the DC podcasts, but I haven't been disappointed.
Thanks for the spoilers.

mdiaab, I'm glad to hear you haven't been disappointed. I often wonder if people I've recommended soaps to have "seen" in them what I do. It can be hard to come in and get the feeling of the show, and I sometimes worry that people will miss what I love about the show because I, as a fan, have years invested in it, and they haven't. Your comment gives me hope. I'm glad you're enjoying OLTL as much as so many of us are!

Thank you for the spoilers. So glad to read that Starr annoyed someone else. That was one of the worst scenes ever. Letting some guy beat her daddy like that and all she does is crying and yell leave him alone. I was so pissed. She could have grabbed something to help her daddy. I can't even imagine someone pushing my daddy without me going off.
I was so rooting for Greg/Rachel to be together but after I saw the horrible acting by Greg when he saw it was Sean to come into the hospital now I'm back to Sean winning. He's my favorite anyway.
I LOVE Gigi and Skyler. And I am loving loving Tea and Todd. They have this great chemistry and everytime Blair pops her head into their scenes it makes me scream. Gawd she is annoying. Let Evangline come back and be the other woman trying to get Todd. Let Blair find another man to stalk. She can get it on with Tea's husband.
I so hope Matthew wins. I just hope he doesn't dump Destiny as a friend as soon as he walks. But not to be mean, they should have that little girl who plays Destiny do some situps. It's not healthy to have such a young girl be so overweight. That's not good advertisement for kids especially Black kids with all the dieases Black people are more likely to get.

My comments regarding Starr are based on when she ran away to New York with Travis, her scenes with Asa when he was alive, the man on the wheel storyline with Colin/Troy. Starr used to be feisty, ever since they paired her with Cole she has lost her edge and backbone, she is Blair and Todd's daughter, Dorian's grandniece and a Cramer woman! Starr should have done something other than stand in the corner and cringed while her father was being beaten by the two thugs...JMO

BigDede, I don't doubt that your heart is in the right place in suggesting situps for the girl who plays Destiny, but the reality is there are all sorts of body types out there and not everyone is going to be thin. She doesn't seem grossly overweight to me. Yes, she's heavy, but that's the way a lot of people are (pardon the pun) destined to be. Star Jones, for instance, hasn't looked healthy to me since her gastric bypass surgery. Her eyes are sunken and she doesn't seem natural. She sure shouldn't be as obese as she became, but she seemed fairly healthy back in her pre-View days.
Also, I'm confused by what people are staying about Starr. Is the criticism of her PERFORMANCE or of the things the writers had her doing? I mean, it's not the actress' fault if the writers wanted her to stand by helplessly while her dad was beaten up.

Thanks for the spoilers, I'm glad the drug storyline is over! It was a lot of heavy drama! I just wish Sean wasn't going into a coma. And I can't wait for David as Dorian's campaign manager!

I still find this show SO uneven. Its always been one of my biggest complaints about the show. I love Cristian and Layla but detest Greg and Rachel. I love Blair but hate what they have her doing right now - would much rather see her openly admit her feelings and compete for him on the up and up. I love Tea the woman but hate Tea the minute she walks in to the courtroom. Lets at least see her struggle with some of the crap she pulls. I love Natalie but I am bored to tears by Jared. I love John the cop but hate John and Marty - I hope at some point Blair lets him have it for protecting Marty's kid and the expense of her own. I love Kyle, Fish and Roxie, but I am annoyed to no end with Rex, Gigi, Roxie and the list goes on. I think its sad that the only two couples that really excite me these days arent really couples yet. Why oh why didnt they keep Ray on the canvas.

Kish is my favorite storyline, so I'm looking forward to Fish coming out to his parents (I'm kind of glad it won't go well--it reflects a reality that some gay people experience) and more Kyle/Roxy scenes.
I ADORE Téa, whether she's mooning over Todd or battling in the court: the woman is the definition of fierce!

If they would have paired Cristian and Layla some years ago we would have been spared Cristian and Evangline and could have had Evangline and Todd.
TV Gord. I don't mean that she should be skinny but they should at least make her more healthy.
Look at Natalie. She use to be healthy looking now she looks like she smokes meth she's getting so skinny

Ok, so no one is talking about this, but I think that the stalker is...**Warning: Spoilery Idea** ....
Mitch Laurence.
Think about it. He is up and about since Roxy unplugged him (thank god for soap logic). He is Jessica's father, right? And he raised Natalie, right? And he for some reason wanted to help Stacy, right? Plus Roscoe Born had a semi blind item last week. It all adds up.
Anyone agree?

I have read on another website that Spencer Truman is Rex` dad. It was 1st mentioned over a month ago and is on again today.

That doesn't make sense. He was stabbed to death on camera and died. Soaps resurrect people all the time, but not if they are dead AND BURIED. Like Maureen Bauer on Guiding Light or David Steinbeck on As The World Turns. If his father was a character that will never come back, why would they build that story up to have a complete anti climax. That would counterintuitive, especially for a soap.

ITA, Scoboot. I have heard that Rex's father is Spencer Truman also, but I have to believe that it's Ron Carlavati's red herring to throw us off, because it makes absolutly no sense to have Spencer as Rex's father. Mitch Lawerence makes much mor sense and would be *awesome.*
