OMG! I can't believe they're going for the oh so overused switched baby storyline.

Who DIDN'T saw that baby switch a mile away? Kitty saw it, and he's death! Double dead actually.

Victor getting Colleen's heart is a frekin' insult. I don't even like Colleen and feel like somebody slapped me, her fans, plus the Abbot family fans, must be in a blind rage. Dumb move writers!!

What is going on with Y&R lately? The show has been on a downward spiral for quite some time. Adam as the evil cartoon villain that no one can catch. Ashley, the dumb blond that falls for everything, including a fake pregnancy. The smart, strong Victor Newman being fooled at every turn. Brad and Colleen being killed in the same lake for no reason. Nick bouncing back and forth between Sharon and Phyllis. Stupid Patty talking to dead cats and floating around while no one can stop her. Gloria and Jeff, the money hungry po' folks. Daniel and Amber stuck in photoshop hell. Kevin the chipmunk... It's all too silly for Y&R. Something has to give.

TPTB need to bring in someone to change things quick. Dump Adam, give Ashley a brain and let everyone forget that Victor is the Alan Spaulding of Genoa City now.

Send Patty off to the looney bin. Let Victoria and Deacon move away together. Send Daniel and Amber packing. Let Kevin have a decent storyline with Jayna. Kill Jeff, give Gloria something worthy to do, end the "Jill is poor" story. Forget Nina and Phillip (he can't act), Devon can go... there are endless problems that need to be fixed.

Dear MAB, I hope with every fiber of my being, that the late, great, Bill Bell Sr., haunts you in your thoughts, in your every waking minute, and even when you sleep. This is Y&R for crying out loud, and you're trying to feed us some piece of recycled garbage that even Chuck Pratt wouldn't stoop to use??? Shame on you, and shame on Hogan. I'd rather not see the magnificent Eileen Davidson at all, rather than watch her have to play this sad excuse for a story. Ugh, just ugh........

It's not MAB's fault. The blame can be laid on Hogan Sheffer...he ruins every soap he comes into contact with.

The only reason to watch this lousy show is Nina.

OMG! The most frustrating thing is that ATWT did the same thing with a baby switch story line with the same exact names. Faith on ATWT was switched at birth with Hope. Ugh.

One has to wonder who is in control at both Y&R and Days. Days seems to have improved with the co-headwriter taking over, while Y&R has taken a nosedive. Pitiful. Y&R was never this goofy. Days might have been able to get away with it, as did Passions, but that was their style. Didn't Hogan Sheffer write that storyline where the girls were trapped with that doctor and aged quickly? He tries to be campy, but fails epically. Arrrrrrrrrrgh!

I'm sorry. I meant to say As the World Turns did the storyline about the aging cream with Sheffer in charge.

MAB use your history better and come up with some better storylines. It is a slap to all us who love the Abbot family...Get rid of Gloria and the Fishers clan bring back some new blood get rid Hogan Sheffer asap.

So... now that Y&R is failing, which soap is rising to the top writing wise? It seems on daytime only one soap, and only one soap can be good at any giving moment.

I'm not sure how I really feel about this baby switch. I was really hoping they wouldn't go this route but I will see how it comes off. The last baby switch Y&R did was the Shiela/Lauren baby switch in the early 90s and that is my all time favorite soap storyline. My second all time favorite soap storyline is when on DAYS Kristn/Susan baby switch. I usually like these storylines so even though I am weary of this one.

OMG, the baby switch storyline is going to be gross. So unreal. Somebody shoot Adam. That is who Patty should have shot. Don't like that character at all. I don't want Sharon with Nick. I think Sharon needs a new guy in her life. I think Phyllis and Nick are great.
I love Nikki but don't want her with Victor. Please give Paul a women. He is so nice and so much more sexy then Victor.
Loving the reuniting of Kay and Jill. Best thing to watch these days. Bring on more Mac & Billy and Nina & Philip.

Everybody knew that they were going w/ the lame baby switch s/l. The question is how long will we have to endure it. The baby will end up at the hospital at some point needing something done that requires genetic testing. After the Babe/ Bianca mess over on AMC you would hope that nobody would go there again,

You're half right. GH was one of two shows to get a heart transplant story right.

The other was Passions when Timmy's heart was transplanted in Charity.

The most emotional moment in Passions' history was when Tabitha listened to her little Tim Tim's heart beating inside her mortal enemy...

Everyone who watched Passions during those episodes was an emotional wreck.

Yes .. most of the current Y&R story lines are predicable, ludicrous, repetitive and silly. It is always amazing that these characters have such amazing abilities to be able to pull their schemes off.
I do however dispute the comment mentioned earlier that Ashley is a dumb blonde. Don't forget that she is not a well woman right now but she certainly had the temporary where with all to explain to Victor exactly why she was leaving him. I was also pleased to see Paul rip into Nikki for her unceasing devotion to Victor. So who are the dummies here when everyone just magnetizes back to Victor for more disappointment and abuse? I still wish that he would receive some extreme comeuppance but that will probably never happen.
Also ... even though Adam has become a despicable character don't forget that it can all be traced right back to the two Newman brats for how they treated his arrival (at Victor's behest) in Genoa City.
I never quite understood the disdain you guys have for the current Colleen but I guess you are all glad that most of her is going to be gone now.
I do not mind most of the other characters. Even though there is a need for some comic relief at times, I hope that they are given some less cartoonish nice dramatic story lines and continue some of the forgotten ones in the near future.

I also find the writing predictable and pathetic way too often. The baby switch and the Colleen to Victor heart transplant-predictable; Colleen drowning in the same lake as her Father-pathetic.

I know we all are expected to suspend disbelief when we watch this escapist entertainment but couldn't the writers try just a little harder? For example, Patty Williams had major cosmetic surgery to become Mary Jane and unrecognizable as her former self, except for one thing which I never heard addressed on the show. What about her darned VOICE?? Did she have a voice transplant too and they forgot to tell us? Ranting about this takes me back to another recent silly whole body cosmetic transformation when Sheila became Phyllis. Here again, suddenly Sheila inherited Phyllis' voice (and body too, by the way). How?? Who knows? Once again, the writers never addressed that. Pathetic.

(If the woman who Deacon is working for, the other wife of Tom, turns out to be Sheila, I swear I'll give up this 25 year old guilty pleasure.)

I can't wait for everyone to watch Friday/Today's (USA) episode. The actress that plays Abby had me bawling. I was very surrpised as I find her acting style very weak but she HAD ME good yesterday. Eileen and Peter were ON FIRE. I LOVE THEIR BROTHER SISTER DYNAMIC. I was a hot mess at the end of the episode. Can't wait to read everybody else's reactions.

Even more interesting, these spoilers and all the stuff with Colleen's heart have people wondering if LML wasn't actually better considering the state of things now.

Wow. I didn't see a baby switch and a heart transplant coming. That is so groundbreaking and dramatic! I don't think anyone has ever tackled such complex and riveting storylines! I'm smelling EMMYS all around!

This baby switch storyline could be seen coming a mile away...but that is not what upsets me about this. Sharon will have lost 3 children after this storyline, and that is just sick. And then what? How long will it last? Will this create another Shick reunion based upon another dead child? And then what will happen when they find out the child is alive? This storyline has no where to go but down. The only people hurt will be Ashley, Sharon, and Nick. Victor will still have the child in his life whether it is his grandchild or daughter......and ADAM walks away scot free. WTH!!!!!!

I want Victor to find out what Adam did and I want a clash of the titans. I want Victor and Jack to work together for once to BURY ADAM!!!

Im not liking any sl on the Young & Restless right now. They are all sick, stupid, and melancholy. The only good thing is, is that Nikkis back. I laughed my butt off when she stood up for Victor. I thought it was sweet. No matter what that couple has gone through, ya gotta love 'em. Their love for one another is epic.

I haven't seen any of this week's episodes yet but hearing that Nikki stood up for Victor knowing that what he did nearly killed her granddaughter is shameful!

All controversial storylines, involving favourite characters, and WE'RE ALL WATCHING..........the ratings will rise, and the last 2 years will be seen as an amazing turnaround, thanks to Bell and Rauch. Negativity, shmagativity....I'm glued to my show!
