General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
Claudia, get your paws off my man Dante!! I was hoping Dante would continue to deny his identity to Claudia, but now that he’s basically confirmed it, it will be harder for her to keep it to herself. As smart as she is though, I was surprised that she hasn’t figured out that he’s an undercover cop. I was glad to see Ronnie finally use his head and send in those cops to “arrest” Dominic and get him out of that room. Now let’s see how Claudia wiggles her way out of that one with Sonny.
Patrick going out to Jake’s with Louise was one thing, but inviting her over to his place afterwards was a bit much. I know he was just picking up food and bringing it to Robin, but why invite someone you just met along for that? And why would she go? Granted, it was a plot point to have them walk in on Robin in the spacesuit, but still. And really Maxie, that’s what you picked out for Robin to stir Patrick’s passions with?!!
I loved the Alexis/Kristina scenes, but am I the only one thinking that Kristina was deliberately misunderstanding Alexis’ meaning? Everytime Alexis said something negative, K would be all “Sam and Sonny” about it. Not everything Alexis said had a double meaning and Kristina’s hard-headedness was grating on me.
Hated the Chikeezie cameo and him singing that horrible song (sorry Phil Collins!) and that JOlivia montage went on way too long. Yes, they’re star crossed lovers. We get it. Now stop making me hate them by over exposing them so much. Besides, having Johnny sing at the piano was way hotter and way more effective anyway.
Lucky catching JaSam breaking into the evidence room made me laugh. The one time Lucky does his job right and he catches Sam and Jason.

GH is so erratic.
Where is Max (what happened to him and Louise), where is Dianne, where did Kate go (does she even know what she set in motion), what happened to Lucky's BBQ (everyone sorta bailed on him, what was the point of the scenes of him inviting them)?
Mischa sent the text messages, how did she even know who to send messages to?
How did Maxie even know that Robin needed to spice up her sex life?
LuLu is in Europe, will she stop by and see her mother?
No wonder the ratings are erratic, it reflect the storytelling!

Jolivia - yes they are cute and funny and I liked them BUT THEY ARE NOT SUPER COUPLE
The all "against all odds" was TO MUCH!!!!!!!!
The all scenes are stupid ...
Could they just have him sing another song???????????
they could just leave it with Johnny sining with the piano ...
BUT TWO SONGS??????????????
By the way BB is amazing singer ....
Ok Kris and Alexis this time I have nothing really bad to say about her FIRST TIME.
I think she really tried.. But I did had a feeling that she did tell Kris that she maybe she should not talk with Sam often because Sam maybe won't give her the good advice ???
I Maybe mistaken I admit ....
Claudia and Dante - Yes I want that Claudia will figure it out so she won't sounds stupid But I have to say that SBJ looked amazing - I wish I have her body LOL
Robin /Patrick - I didn't love the all Jake thing him with another woman ..
I loved Maxi and Robin talk But COULD MAXI GIVER HER A BETTER COSTUME ?
Lucky and Maxi scenes were cute .....
JaSam - I just loved them I love all the wearing black and going to action BONNIE& CLYDE
Loved the kiss for good luck that was super hottttttt
I also liked that Lucky is the one catching them .. that is good
AND JASAM ARE A REAL SUPER COUPLE

I swear, I like Brandon B. and Dominic Z. more everyday. Johnny's singing/playing is fantastic. And I love the way Dante is conflicted (because he's fond of Morgan) but is so dedicated to bringing Sonny down. Finally, someone said what a lot of us think--charming as Sonny can be, he orders people murdered! He's a criminal! DZ plays those conflicting emotions well. The Patrick/Robin stuff was pointless but fun.

Perkie, you and I are in total agreement about K deliberately misunderstanding Alexis. I think she was purposely twisting her words around.
Johnny can sing! Wow! I'd love to see BB and BA do a duet together.
Speaking of BA, why is it possible for Spinelli to get caught with Jason and possibly lose the business and his PI license, but not for Sam? That made no sense to me. I get that Jason doesn't want Spin doing field work for painfully obvious reasons that always make poor Spin look like a total idiot, which he definitely is not, but that was just another way of making Spin feel like less of a man because Jason would rather have Sam, who happens to be a woman, go in place of Spinelli. If I were Spin I would be thinking that his mentor thought Sam showed more courage than he did and that was why Jason wanted her instead of him.
I wish Sonny would man up and leave Olivia alone. He's married and he keeps going after her. Does he have to sleep with every woman in town multiple times to prove to himself that he's a man? He's just a dog! I actually consider that an insult to dogs, which I love! My very best friend is my black lab!
I thought the whole thing with Maxie and Robin was incredibly dumb. First, Maxie has no business being involved in Scrubs's sex life. Second, why is it that just because Patrick has a friendly drink with the friend of a friend who happens to be a woman Maxie thinks he's going to cheat on Robin? How would Maxie feel if someone tried to interfere in her relationship, sexual or otherwise, with Spinelli?

I liked the scene between Alexis/Kristina. I thought it reflected a realistic talk between a mother and daughter. I mean Kristina was being stubborn with bringing up Sam and Sonny everytime Alexis said something. I like how Alexis told Kristina that she didn't have a great childhood growing up and wanted to give Kristina and Molly something better. I just wish Sam would talk to Alexis about Kristina wanting to have sex.
I thought Robin's outfit was hilarious. It didn't strike me as something sexy but hey whatever floats there boats. It was weird Patrick inviting some woman he doesn't even know back to his house.
I don't see also how claudia doesn't suspect Domte is really a cop. I don't see how the cops would know that Domte is in the room with Claudia which was registered under Deborah Jackson.
Loved Jasam and the kiss he gave her for good luck....so cute!!
Totally didn't not like the Jolivia scenes. I mean I had to fast forward whenever they showed her face because she looked so weird to me trying to act hurt. I loved BB singing though. He has a great voice.

I don't watch regularly but I tuned in friday and I got to say that I wasn't upset about the whole Jolivia thing. I thought it was HILARIOUS. I spent the whole time watching it and just totally laughing. It really was totally pathetic! BB did well with his song and I wouldn't have minded them just having that part but I wouldn't have had my best laugh of the day if not.

Hah, I love Jolivia, but yeah...over the top with the "Against All Odds" and the extreme close-ups. I did enjoy BB's performance though. They should have just left it at that and let the AI guy sing something else, or at least made it a montage with other miserable people/couples. Surely there are some of those in PC.
I liked that Alexis didn't use Sam's past at all when Kristina kept trying to bait her. Does K know anything about Sam's childhood or con days? Because it doesn't really seem like she does.
Robin so looked like Zenon...did KS pick out that outfit?
As much of an idiot Sonny is with everything else, I think he's the most idiotic about Claudia. I'm sure she'll spin some tale, like she just had to use the public restroom at MC, and he'll just shrug and accept it. Those two really do belong together.

I like Jolivia, I do, but the show is working a little too hard to convince me that they have the Greatest Love that Ever Loved. Didn't they just declare their love like, two days ago? They haven't earned this kind of stuff at all yet, IMHO. I do love BB's voice. I second the idea of BA and BB singing a duet.
The Scrubs stuff was so obviously just a stupid plot point to embarrass Robin. Because no way would my girl Maxie have picked out stuff more suited to a children's birthday party than sexy time. It was straight up wacky hijinks. That being said, I understood the underpinnings of what Maxie was *trying* to do--she's not a trustworthy female herself (as she bluntly admitted to Robin yesterday) so she doesn't trust other women. She went off on Mercedes for hugging Spin, and Spixie weren't even officially together yet. But, as usual with GH, it could have been handled so much better.
I miss seeing Spixie together. I am also tired of the dynamic between JaSamSpin. Maybe he wouldn't be so "incompetent" if they didn't always treat him like he was.
Kristina was being very much a teenager, and I continue to love the dynamic between LA and NLG.
Oh, Dante. I just want this storyline to be over.

One more thing that bothered me in the episode was Olivia telling Sonny she's over him and blah, blah, blah but yet at the carnival she was all feeding him popcorn and almost kissing him while Johnny was getting shot. So its kind of hard to believe that she doesn't want him anymore because she's so in love with Johnny. How long have they been dating and yet they are so in love.

I know I'm in the minority, but that last part with Robin dressing up for Patrick was HILARIOUS!!! I'm actually laughing out loud as I type this. She looked ridiculous, and the funny thing about it is that Scrubs is such a great couple that even though she looks crazy, Pat would think it was funny and cute. Ah, I love my Scrubs so much and I can just tell that TPTB are going to throw a little angst their way. If they do, I hope we get a s/l where Pat cheats, but not like Robin "cheated" with Brad during the PPD storyline. I mean actually having sex with someone else. If they do, I really hope they end up back together, but I would love to see how KM and JT play that out. Robin would be crushed, and it is not often that we see that kind of emotion from her because she's so mentally strong.
Claudia is one twisted sister. I'm gonna miss that broad. I like how SJB plays desparate. You can totally see Claudia losing it little by little right in front of our faces. This can end no other way except badly.
I love JoLivia, but I agree with everyone that the Phil Collins song was a bit much. Loved BB's performance though. It would have been so much more powerful if that was the only one.
Loved JaSam too. I can't wait to see what happens on Monday. I have been a die hard JaSammer since '04, even during the tragedy of 2007, but I really liked LuSam while they lasted and they were great for each other during a time when they were both betrayed in unbelievable ways by those they trusted. I hope Lucky talks about how much they meant to each other and I especially hope he brings up their Mexico trip because that would surely make Jason jealous and realize what he almost lost forever.

Although I hope GH isn't introducing a female obstacle for Scrubs to overcome, I enjoyed them yesterday because JT and KM seem to enjoy their every scene. As for the space suit, I think it made sense for Maxie to see Robin as fun sexy rather than straightforward sexy.
There are 2 things wrong with Jolivia for me, first, she seems to put Johnny before Dante which isn't the character who was introduced. What happened to the self sacrificing simgle mom from Bensonhurst. Who is this woman warning Johnny not to trust Dante. And, why is Johnny in the mob more understandable than Sonny? Sonny's father walked out, Trevor hated him, Duke beat him, the neighborhoood mob kingpin became a father to him, it doesn't excuse him now but what about when he was Johnny's age? I have never liked this couple and don't buy that this is osme great love interupted.
As for Claudia/Dante, GH is so obviously writing a Who Killed Claudia mystery that I feel like an idiot since I came back to this show to see how she is being written off and was hoping that Guza would make up to Sarah Brown, the past year and a half with a great send-off.
Well at least I have the imminent return of JJ to look forward to, even Guza couldn't mess that up........or could he?

maxsmom: They do overplay the "Johnny had no choice" hand, but I do think that since he was born into it, born to a kingpin, it would be much more difficult for him to ever leave. Unless he changes his name, he's bound to that family. Add to that the obligation he feels towards his sister, and it's kept him in. That said, they're definitely separating him from Claudia now, so if they're ever really going to have him make a clean break from the mob, it should be now.
Sonny made a choice to get into the business...he may be trapped now with his name so well known, but he did make that choice. It was easy money when he was a kid, but he's had many chances to get out and stay out since. He just can't let go of that power.

Yeah, I am so sick of JOlivia it's ridiculous. I liked them a lot at first. b/c they were hot together and I figured they were just going to be about sex. And then they made them exchange ILUs and I was like 'Huh?' And now they're making them have this horrible break up and ... I've officially checked out.
I need this Louise person off my screen. Her old stories about Patrick are like Olivia's old stories about Kate - tedious and annoying. And why can't they just let Scrubs be peaceful and happy?
But speaking of Louise, are we officially never going to get to see Max again? Why did they even bother having him get hurt? They should have just stayed with the Max and Louise thing.
Ugh, this show is so scatter brained.
Loved the JaSam good luck kiss, of course

Copied from the other thread:
Perkie...NOW I believe that Sam is in the wrong re: Krissy. Alexis asked Sam outright whether she thought Krissy was in trouble, and Sam remained silent. She *should* have told Alexis 1) that Krissy has been confiding in her, 2) that her behavior lately has been cause for concern, and 3) while she would not betray Krissy's trust, since 4) Alexis obviously has the right to be kept in the loop, 5) she promises to tell her right away should the situation escalate. Would that have been so hard? Nope.
I liked the K/Alexis scenes because the conversation was real. Rather than sounding hypocritical, IMO Alexis came across as a mother who had made peace with her own past - both the good and bad, but wanted better (the best, even) for her children.
The Jolivia scenes were a bit much for me today. However, I too thoroughly enjoyed the Scrubs mix-up. From the Maxie/Lucky interlude to Robin climbing onto the couch, I thought it was cute - and very sweet of Robin to make the effort.
Dominante was Lucky-dumb today. Did he really think Claudia wouldn't be able to put *all* of the pieces together eventually? All she needs is internet access and Google. I guess the police are back to being idiots again.
Question: I really don't understand how a paternity test would be able to distinguish Sonny's DNA from Ric's, but it *wouldn't* be able to distinguish between Sonny and Dominante. In both cases it would seem like they share a significant amount of the same DNA. Can someone please tell me what I'm missing?

Well Samrocks i don't think Claudia is think of a paternity test .. I think she just wants a baby and tell it is Sonny's ... and no one will say it could be Dante's ........
Even Dante won't admit it because id he does Sonny will kill him

Maxsmom...two words: toxic...balls. Need I say more?
Seriously though, I *loved* Olivia when she first came on, and I loved the Jolivia chemistry. And this week, BB was even able to make me wish they never broke up despite how much Olivia currently irritates me. But then Guza, true to form, ruined my post-breakup sadness with that over the top scene at Jake's. The creepy way Johnny Logan-stared at Olivia from the other end of the bar was downright silly.
I am honestly very impressed by most of the storylines Guza comes up with; it's the overkill in the execution that ruins it for me.

Totally agree with everyone about the CE song. I sort of feel bad for him, he sang beautifully, but the set up for it was silly, esp. with the beautiful BB song afterward.
SJB dang girlfriend looks beautiful.
No to a Scrubs cheating storyline. YIKES. I did actually enjoy the humor of her dressed up like that.
Now on to the thing that really drove me nuts. And I forwarn everyone that I am WAYYYY in the minority here -- so much so that I JUST went back to rewatch the Alexis/Sam/Kristina stuff before I posted.
First off, Samrocks, I hate disagreeing with you, but Alexis asked her "you don't think she is going to do that do you, get all boy crazy" - I dont see that as asking if she is in trouble, and I dont understand why Carly's radar is up with respect to Kristina but Alexis is oblivious. I think Sam is in an untenable position, and she wants to make sure Kristina isnt isolated from adult input. Moreover, the bigger issue is if Sam alluded to a problem, what reaction would she get from Alexis. Alexis hasnt demonstrated herself as a person who will listen in a calm and reasonable way, particularly when it comes to Kristina.
Secondly, I was disgusted with a lot of what Alexis said about Sam. She started off her convo with Kristina with saying "I noticed you have been spending a lot of time with Sam and I think thats great, I do, because I want you to be close to your sister, but I know this is a time of your life where you will have lots of questions and I want you to bring those questions to me." Kristina asked her if that was because she was worried about what Sam would tell her and Alexis responds "I dont know what Sam would tell you" SHe then proceded to talk about how Sam wasnt raised right - not that Sam went through hell and didnt have the same advantages Kristina has or that she had horrible adoptive parents and it forced her into a life that basically skipped a childhood etc. etc. the convo then went on about how much Kristina is setting a foundation (even though everyone has told Alexis she is pressuring Kristina too much) Alexis then goes in to her discussion about her own childhood and her regrets and wishes of things she could undo, to which Kristina says "like not get pregnant with Sam and me." And this is where the kicker came in for me..... the next words out of Alexis's mouth were "there wasnt one moment in my life where I wished that I didn't have you. From the moment that you were conceived I loved you with every fiber of my being." No reference at all to loving Sam.
And this is my problem. Kristina has said quite often that she feels like she HAS to succeed, that its expected. When Alexis looks down on Sam in a way that even Molly and Kristina notices (remember Molly just told Sam I wish mom was nicer to you) then that serves as a huge statement that if a daughter of hers doesnt live their life in a manner she deems appropriate, Alexis will withhold her approval, my love, and my affection. What a terrible lesson to give your kids. And its not just Sam, look at the way she treats Michael. Michael may not be HER son, but he is THEIR brother. Am I the only one that sees the difference between the way that Carly treats the girls (as extended family) and Alexis treats Michael and Morgan (as threats to her children's success and well being) I find it really sad.

If Sonny wouldnt kill Claudia while she is preggers with his son, would he really kill her while she was preggers or mothering his grandson? I think Claudia wants a baby, but I also think she still wants an insurance policy should the truth about Michael come out. Plus, before ClauSon had JUST hooked up when she punched holes in the condoms, and she had just been sleeping with Ric, so a paternity test made sense. Maybe she is banking on him not going that route this time.

Preach, EET!!!! I love me some Alexis and Samlexis, but her whole attitude is pissing me off. I have always believed it was half Alexis' damn fault that Sam had sex with Ric. The other half was Jason's. Alexis knew that Sam has had zero self esteem her whole life because everyone in her life from childhood has treated her like a piece of garbage. So, what did she do??? The MOMENT she found out Sam was her daughter, she proceeded to try to change everything about her, from her boyfriend to the way she dressed. Then, while she knows Sam is cut open from her breakup with Jason, and only minutes after Jason tells her he can't love her anymore so she'll move on, Alexis goes on a rant talking about how degraded and pathetic Sam is. It was disgusting, and ever since then, I have not seen a major shift in the way Alexis views Sam. She has always looked down on her no matter how hard Sam has worked to make a relationship with her and her sisters. Hopefully they will be dealing with this in detail soon.

EET I agree with you on all the points you said about Alexis .......
Alexis does not appreciate her daughter sam , and Kris was right on by the look of things it did seem that Alexis doe not like the fact that Kris is going to Sam, she thinks Sam will give her bad advice because of the way Sam lived ........ AND THAT IS NOT TRUE...
About Michael I hate the way Alexis treat him , like is not Kris brother like he is dangerous and he is bad influence on her girls .. and I am so afraid about what Alexis will tell Sam when she finds out about Jason,I think she will be even worse .....
Alexis even went to him to talk to him who the hell she thinks she is ??? She is not Michael mother she had no right to approach to him if there was trouble go talk with Sonny or Carly no to the kid he already feels bad she just made him fell worse and Carly was right....
On the other hand look at Carly she does not like Alexis she doesn't agree with they way the girls are raise like Alexis but she does treat them better she invited them to be with her when she chose the girl name ..............
16 September 2008
4 hours 24 min
EET...I *definitely* believe Carly is more gracious to the other siblings than Alexis, but:
1) Alexis would definitely try to minimize whatever information Sam provided, but Sam STILL had a duty to at least put the info on her radar. Is the situation delicate? Absolutely. Will Alexis somehow turn it around and make it Sam's fault? Most likely. But what matters most is KRISTINA, and the more people looking out for her, the better. So yeah, I firmly believe that Sam should have said SOMETHING.
2) Why is it so unreasonable for a mother to ask her daughter to come to her FIRST, rather than an older sibling? She told Molly the same thing (about K, no less) when her affair with Mayor Floyd became public.
3) Alexis DOESN'T know what Sam would tell her, and Sam WASN'T raised the same way K&M were. You can love someone and still recognize they are flawed. Alexis' relationship with Nikolas and Stefan are perfect examples. And this is an oversimplification, but, let's not forget that the last time Sam was really hurt and angry with Alexis, she lashed out by SLEEPING WITH HER HUSBAND. We will have to agree to disagree on this point, but I see no problem in Alexis' desire to have K come to her with questions about "life."
4) As for the response to K's question about her and Sam's conception, I saw it differently. I didn't care if she didn't address her feelings about Sam because it wasn't really about Sam - the entire conversation was about Krissy, and IMO it was important that Alexis reiterate that she is loved, wanted, supported, etc. Even if it was an intentional omission, so what? Alexis got pregnant at 16. What 16-year-old do you know that is stoked to be pregnant from day one? It is obvious that Alexis wasn't thrilled about the idea since she GAVE HER UP. I think it says a lot that Alexis later searched for her child and then welcomed Sam into her and K&M's lives. Alexis and Sam's relationship is INSANELY complicated, and again - in that moment it was ALL ABOUT KRISSY.

P.S. I am still very much on Team Sam (and always will be), and hate the hypocrisy that is Alexis Davis most of the time, but I could understand where she was coming from during Friday's conversation.
ETA: I'm sure this was due more to NLG's performance than the dialog that was written for her.
15 July 2008

Mayjador I have to differ with you on two things - Sic, yes Alexis deserves some of the blame as does Jason, but Sam and Ric have to shoulder some of the blame too. I go back and forth, sometimes I really hold Alexis most accountable because of how horribly she treated Sam leading up to that, other times Jason gets the brunt of it because he has preached ad naseum about people making their own choices and then her stripped Sam of hers, but Sam was drinking and really angry so I have to give her a percentage of the blame since she is an adult and Ric was sober while Sam was drunk so I give him a big chunk of the blame too. I just had to say that because I know the haters will say oh, there go the Sam fans again, whitewashing all the mistakes she has made and I dont see it that way. Sam has made mistakes with Alexis, but I think Alexis has made far MORE mistakes in their relationship. And whats disappointing is the second place where I disagree a bit - I thought they had made some progress after the toxic balls incident but this conversation to me showed that Alexis really is masking some deep resentments and the progress I thought I saw was very surface. I really wonder if Molly and Krisitina were not in the picture would their differences just be too great for them to have any relationship? Why must Alexis be so damn judgemental...she certainly wasnt with Jerry or with Jax or heck she is so concerned about nik but does she ever talk to him about poor ignored Spencer. And we sure see that when she wants something from Carly she is all about communicating and pulling together, but when its the Jacks family that has issues she is like a train barreling down the tracks. I guess I am like Sam in that respect - I try to understand the character of Alexis but often I just really dont.

EET,
I totally agree, Alexis was DISGUSTING to talk about Sam like that!
15 July 2008

Samrocks, I have ZERO problem with her encouraging Kristina to go to her first, but why did she have to bring up Sam as the example of an adult who would guide her incorrectly? And since Sam is her daughter, if Alexis is concerned about what Sam would say, why doesnt she sit down with her and discuss that aspect of things. Take Jarly as a counterpoint - how many times have we seen Carly try to worm info out of Jason and when Jason refuses Carly says to him "well make sure you tell him" whatever. She accepts that Michael isnt ALWAY going to see her as his first confidant and any parent that assumes that will be the case IMHO has huge blinders on. And I would agree with you about Sam saying something IF there was a reason to believe Alexis would listen without "proof" or if the question had been indicative that Alexis was finally concerned enough to listen.
As for the line about you would undo the pregancies, I totally see what you are saying, that it was and should be all about Krissy, but I guess my sense was that some of the angst Kristina has about her mom is that if she fails - fails to be perfect, fails to get in to Yale, fails to meet expectations - that her mom wont love her and the best example of that is the relationship mom has with Sam. If they saw that mom really was kind and unconditionally loving with Sam, then both girls would see proof that Alexis will love them too no matter what.
15 July 2008
3 hours 41 min
Hey it just dawned on me. Krissy asked her mom how she felt about her when she reminded her of her father...I wonder if this fallout is a lead up to finally getting the long rumored Sam's dad story. Does Sam remind Alexis of her father?? Yeah much of Sam's insincts and shortcomings are rooted in her horrible childhood, but we also know Alexis loves rascals, will Sam's dad turn out to be someone in that vein...maybe not even a bad guy, but someone who grew up to be a spy or a corporate raider or a PI himself - something flashy and perhaps a little on the danger junkie side. I always kind of wanted to see Monica and Sam getting chummy, so that maybe Alexis would feel like she had to compete a little for Sam's affections instead of always the other way around, maybe we will get that with Sam's dad on the scene if Sam and he instantly bond.
