My only problem with gay stories is that they inevitably involve "coming out," as if that is the only problem gay people face in this society. It's a big issue, to be sure, but it's not the biggest problem and ALL gay stories on soaps (save for the Y&R Adam/Rafe story) have involved coming out. Move on. As for KISH, they need a viable spoiler to their romance, but that would mean introducing a new character and too many new characters, on top of the ones we are getting used to now, is just too much.

It makes me cringe that having sex before January is considered progress for a gay couple when hetero characters are allowed to bed hop. We still have a long way to go.

This is a storyline about 2 men who HAPPEN to be gay, please don't make it about what's been done before/not done before../In THIS storyline Fish would most likely NOT jump Kyle the first chance he got, this is HIS story. It can't and should not be about millions of gay males "stories", one man=one story.

I respectfully disagree gato01. Anytime something without much precedent happens it does tend to become about more than the story itself. Daytime sex for gay males is still pretty much new ground, so, anything that does happen will be considered a hopeful first of many depictions of homosexual intimacy and take on more importance. That's why the Advocate posted this story in the first place.

I hope the next storyline they tackle is how Fish's colleagues at work handle his sexuality. Not to be stereotypical, but I can't imagine everyone on the LPD are enlightened enough to be okay with Fish's revelation.

As for the timing of their sexual reunion, I think it's being handled very well. I disagree that bed-hopping is the norm on soaps. Soaps are all about delayed gratification. Putting it off seems pretty typical to me.

Also, I think it's an important point to people who aren't familiar with homosexuality that Kyle and Fish aren't consumed with getting in the sack. Many people think that's all gay relationships are about. This is a nice way of showing that there's more to it than just the jumping of bones (so to speak).

Since I've been watching there hasn't been any bed hopping. Nearly all the characters are in serious relationships and built up to having sex in their various couplings. Now that I think about it, there's not a lot of sex on OLTL, but it's pretty steamy when they do have it.

Other than "appearing" to be naked in bed under a sheet and some kissing, what are they really going to show? Think about it. Are they really going to show one of them face down? No. Any type of "oral"? No. If you think about straight sex (with the exception of the Dorian thing), it's pretty much heavy petting and kissing. This will be no different, which is really the point!

Soon, Kish will have something in common with Phyllis from Y&R...they will have their backs broken.

Okay if they can infer that Dorian gave David Oral in 2008 they can do the same for Kyle & Oliver

As excited as I was of the idea of them getting it on on Wednesday's episode I was happy they decided to wait. It really shows that stereotypes are not true. I cannot wait to see the relationship develop into something real. Way to go OLTL! Add more gay characters to your show!

Isn't Fish the father of Stacy's baby? So, the next facet of the story is going to be this gay couple raising a child and if they are more capable than the mother? We haven't had a good court battle over a child since GL's Vanessa vs. Bridget over baby Peter.

I agree dude but apparently gay guys with normal libidos are stereotypical. I'm not saying the long-waiting-virgin-thing doesn't happen in real life but I know I went out and hooked up with someone as soon as I could drive and get into bars. lol.

I thought they had sex in college?? Fish's mother found them in bed, I doubt they were playing tiddly winks. I am confused about the issue of whether its been too long of a wait - Dorian's big gay wedding was only two days earlier. That hardly seems like a long wait

I think the whole debate is over if it has been to long or not since they have 'appeared' on the show.

With that said the only other thing i have to say is I don't really count Passions as a same-sex storyline, and even if i did, Hollyoaks was doing more that year with McDean then Passions ever did, also McDean both of them ...well let's just say neither of them got knocked up with their fathers child so...
