Daniel Cosgrove Heads To ATWT

Interesting...I didn't think World Turns was going to pick any other GL vets besides Tom Pelphrey. My guess is a recast for Chris Hughes, he has the look. Thoughts?

Why did DC go to ATWT? He'll just be out of work again next September!

EEEEEEE!!! I'm happy. I get to see my favorite leading man back on my screens. I was hoping for DC to go to OLTL as a Joey recast and the ATWT cancellation rumors hs me worried but whatever, I guess any job in daytime right now isn't that safe.

I just hope it's a good role and a good storyline and ATWT seems to be on a upswing.

Just don't pair him with Alison, ya hear DK?

What about the role Maura's real life husband played for a long time? He was a recovering alcoholic.

As excited as I am about Daniel coming (I adored him on GL...and those dimples don't hurt), they better write him as an original character. After the crap that was revolving door of newbies and ABC cast-offs, I think ATWT viewers want to see more of the veteran actors and the families they created!

Daniel C. is a great actor, even though he was phoning it in after GL got the boot in April(can't entirely blame him).

He should probably play a new character..One thing ATWT DOESNT need is another recast of a recast of a recast....To GL's credit, they didnt do that as much as ATWT....How many Mike's and Chris Hughes and Rosanna's have there been? Not to mention the various Craig Montgomerys and Lucy Montgomerys..........Aiy yi yi...

There have only been 2 Rosanna's and 3 Mike's.

While I'm thrilled that DC finally found some work, like many of you, I hope that it's an original role and not a recast. Now granted, it's been years since we've seen Andy Dixon and I wish he'd come back, after all his Mother Kim just suffered a heart attack not too long ago and I'm sure she'd love a visit from her Prodigal Son.

I love DC but he was totally phoning it in. I don't blame him because they gave him squat to do. I think that his script for the last 5 months said smile and flash your dimples and he did that to perfection. I just hope that whatever role he is playing is good and that he actually gets to act something he didn't get to do on GL in all of 09. ´

I don't blame him at all. GL gave him and Marcy Rylan NOTHING to work with in those final months. It was like they were in their own little bubble of a storyline, fixing up that stupid house and droning on about their bright future, which would never be played out on-screen.

I don't see how that would work. First of all, the absence of Lizzie and his new baby would have to be explained. And, frankly, I don't see why ATWT would bring over ANY characters from GL. If people were still interested in seeing those characters, GL wouldn't have been cancelled...

I think it's great that Daniel is coming to ATWT! I agree with beingdrew, he definitely has the look of Chris Hughes, and I could totally buy him in that role. And hey, he's probably pretty excited to have a dressing room again:P

I don't know if I buy into Frons' take on the demise of GL, but I do think the show killed itself with a number of bad decisions, including, but not limited to:

a) the murder of Tammy Winslow and the fact that her murderer was brought back to be a sympathetic leading man;

b) the pairing of Josh & Cassie

c) the destruction of Gus & Harley and Mallet & Dinah

d) Tom Pelphrey's exit, which was a giant blow to the show from which they never fully recovered

Also, Philip's return was too little, too late to have any real impact on the show...

But that's just me. Some diehard GL fans think the show was circling the drain since Nadine Cooper's murder in the 90's.

He bores me to no end. He just seems like an old man to me...never understood his appeal. ATWT is on it's way out, I doubt stuntcasting is going to help it.

And, YAYYY : ) I am so excited about DC! If they brought Marcy Rylan in, I might possibly scream with joy. That would be fantastic. As The World Turns has been bangin' lately. It t makes me miss GL a little less. Hoorah for ATWT (:

I hope we get a bit of good times for Luke and Noah before we head into another possible love triangle possibility. Ameera,Brian,Mason a few others ie Kevin, the two ex boyfriends. You get the point. Can't these two guys just have a normal life for awhile. Daniel Cosgrove was also on AMC a long time ago. I think he played Scott Chandler for a period of time.

Scout, Everything you said in 19 post, I agree with. So my apologies. BUT there were some damn fine actors on that show. and I am looking forward to watching anything they show up in.

Oh, Idylkng, don't misunderstand me: I would be happy to see GL cast members show up anywhere. I like CC on Days and look forward to Gina Tognoni returning to OLTL. And I'd love to see Marcy Rylan end up on another soap.

I just think that it would be a mistake to add GL characters to AWTW -- simply because AWTW has its own problems and cancellation worries, so bringing in characters from a cancelled soap, to me, would be counterproductive to AWTW saving itself.

Also I really did root for GL to find itself a new broadcast home, but when a show is cancelled, I respectfully think it is time to move on...but GL should always be celebrated for its many years on the air.
