General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

I'm all for Ethan and Kristina.

They could be GH's version of JT and Colleen.

Oh good!  I'm glad I'm not the only one interested in Kristina and Ethan.  The actors have chemistry and they look good together.  Plus I'm imagining the fireworks when Alexis, Sonny and Luke find out.  I can't wait!!!!

 I, too, am all for Ethan and Kristina.  He seems very protective of her.  The way he's currently being written, he's a kindly, soft hearted soul who wouldn't take advantage of her - she is jail bait, after all.  As with many con artists, the people he cons are the people with money.  Perhaps he will be one of those rare characters on this show that is multi faceted - there aren't many.

Heres my problem with Ethan and Kristina - last time the mentioned ages, Kristina was 16 (and Michal 17).  Now I take the characters based on what they say their age is, so even though K should only be less than half that old, I accept her at the new age. At BEST she is now 17.  And we know she is only a junior (or even maybe a sophomore) because she constantly points out that the best thing about kiefer is he is a senior.

Meanwhile, Maxie said she is 23 and as far as they show us lulu is roughly the same age.  That also jives with the number of years its been since lulu went to college pre-Dillon/pregnancy. Give or take that makes Lulu 22.

Lulu was conceived and born in PC.  Ethan was conceived while Laura and Luke were still on the run. That makes him AT BEST 23.

Am I wrong here about the ages?? Any one want to take a different crack at that.

I dont have kids, but if my 17 year old daughter wanted to date a 23 year old man I wouldnt be okay with that just because the other boyfriend beats her.  Both men would find my stilleto up their behinds.  What kind of grown man wants to date a high school student?  Next year when she graduates high school will he take her to her senior prom? At 17, I was off to college, which makes a huge difference in my book. At 23 most men havent run cons and travel the world - they arent usually wordly.

And what about the sex issue. From the way Ethan sells it, he is experienced - I hardly would believe Rebecca was his first, so now he is going to fall for girl that still doesnt know or WANT to know anything in that arena.

If they want me to buy those two, I think they should be friends for at least a full year + so that she is totally done with high school first.

I could approve of a Kristina-Ethan pairing -- at least for a little while.  I don't think Ethan will be on much longer.  With Rebecca's days numbered Ethan's ties, Luke not withstanding, are slimmer and slimmer.  He needs a story.  Since he has no connections to Sonny he is pretty useless these days. 

I'm so glad to see such positive comments on Kristina/Ethan. They really remind me of AT-era Nik/Emily. I think they're adorable and I can't wait to see where their storyline goes. I agree though, they need to be friends for a while and very slowly build things up.

I'm also intrigued about Kristina and Ethan, I certainly don't hate it, but we'll see.
Michael and Morgan ruining the car to make Carjax stay together was good, it shows that they care about them. Sam was with her mom and her sisters on thanksgiving, that put a really big smile on my face.
Quatermaine thanksgiving Pizza dinners are great, I was surprised when my mom started singing along with Edward..haha. She can be so mushy sometimes. Seeing Spinelli today with Maxie made me feel bad for him, he really does care about her a lot.
All in all, it was a very sweet episode, and I'll take those anyday.

Kristina+Ethan=YUUUCH, but I didn't take the scene as a potential coupling, I enjoyed today's episode as a nice break from the everyday, in the spirit of the season, minor quibbles will be ignored.

Sorry dudes, I'm TOTALLY skeeved by a potential Ethan/Krissy pairing, but it's mainly because of the age thing.  EET, I too believe that Ethan is around 23, and I don't recall Krissy turning 17 yet - one "fact" I remember from the summer is that Michael is 17 and Krissy is 16, which is why she had only recently gotten her learner's permit and had to sneak out to drive to meet Keifer.

I just view her flirting with him as another Maxie-Lucky type crush (pre-KS Maxie, that is), while he is not so much interested in her as a nice guy.

I was happy for a Jason-free, extended Sam sighting.  Yippee!  Until Jaon's little crisis of conscience or pity party is over, she should go out and do her own thing.  Perhaps Jason will put him up at Wyndemere for a bit - that's an excellent place for brooding.

LOVED how great NLG looked in her red dress. 

The "I Hate Lisa (and Anyone Who Likes Her)!" Club is now accepting membership applications.  I am the President, of course, but all of the other executive positions are still open.

Totally enjoyed the M&M hijinks to make a CarJax Thanksgiving, but I was a little concerned when it appeared that Morgan was going to stain that couch with his dirty hands, LOL.

How can we forget Max & Diane?? Kristina & Ethan, I'm a wait and see gal on that one.  I had almost forgotten about the early Emily/Nik years.  Thanks for jogging the memory "sarahbell86"!!

Pretty much the same age difference if not more. Not to mention Luke was 30 and Laura was 18 when they started that pairing. And btw Nathan Parsons is only 21 and Lexi is 17.

They could make it work.

Ethan and Kristina could be the new Liz/Jason or Zander/Maxie.  I  loved both of those relationships.  They are only 4 years apart.  GH is good at those kinds of relationships so I'm not worried about them making it creepy.  Ethan just needs to shower.

How sexy did Mac look today.  I would love to see him and ALexis hitting up the sheets.

Lisa just looked so out of place. I already can't stand her.  Bring back Sarah. She's blond and a doctor and she would be good for Matt.

The Q Thanksgiving was cool but I wanted to see Cam! They all should have been at the Q's house.  Imagine Monica and Edward taking a liking to Jake without knowing why.  It would have been so cute.  Cam and Big Alice playing with each other.

And what the heck was up with Rebecca talking about feeding the homeless. Whatever. They are trying to remake her into Emily. Well I hated her version of Emily so bye chick.

Mione134, my age problem isn't about NP and LA's ages, it's about their characters' ages.  Krissy isn't even a senior in high school yet, and Ethan is BooLoo's older brother.

I could eventually get comfortable with their pairing, but not until the character of Kristina matures more - she may be academically gifted, but emotionally speaking this is still the same girl who finds most of her boyfriend's appeal to be the fact that he is a senior.  And this summer she wanted to return home from being on the run with Michael not because she wanted to face the consequences of running someone off the road, but because Keifer had moved on to another girl.

It's funny though, because if you'd asked me a few months ago, I would've been opposed because Ethan was a sleaze, but now that he has been written more like a human being than Luke-lite, I'm opposed not because of Ethan - but because Krissy acts more like a child/pre-teen than soon-to-be young adult.

Samrocks well said - its not the age of the actors but the age of the characters thats at issue.  If its just a deep friendship I would be completely okay with that.  I liked Maxie Zander but Zander was more injured than worldly - he had only been with Emily, yes he sold drugs but more as a hurt acting out thing than any grown up rational decision.  I saw them as more akin to Stone and Robin. I could see Ethan/K as early Nik/Em but remember Nik didnt get with Em until she would totally out of high school.  Hell she had already been MARRIED at that point. Thats hardly comparable to being a junior in high school.

I was just thinking the same thing about Luke and Laura's ages. But Laura was married and out of high school when they started but then Laura started early didn't she (with that David (? her stepdaddy or whatever) whom she killed and then Scott and then Luke) not sure how it all went down but they did start early with Laura LOL. and since he is the great Luke Spencers son then they (TIIC) could have in the back of their mind to write this on some level as a Luke & Laura pairing (minus the seduction/rape) If I remember right Luke was in love with Laura before he ever acted on it, I mean there was a lot of build up of Luke and Laura before they / he / she ever acted upon those feelings.
But now days they don't know what build up means. If it  (the story) isn't over and done with in three months time or less fans seem to give up / get tired and get mad. It is like reading a book they read the First chapter, Middle chapter and the Last pages and ta-dah you are suppose to have a great story. JMO

Perkie are you sure about Emma's BD being on Halloween?  Robin went into labor at her wedding and the wedding was not on Halloween from what I can recall.

I know the writers want to put some tension into Scrubs and also to give Matt something to do but couldn't they have found an actress who is actually any good?  The actress playing Lisa has no chemistry with anyone.  This storyline holds zero appeal for me right now.

Loved Robin and Alexis's three girls trying to match up Alexis and Mac.  Alexis only goes for really bad boys so I wonder how that will turn out?  I hope the writers let it play out.  I thought it was hysterical when Sam, Kristina and Molly were telling Lisa about their mom.

I'm clueless on the Ethan/Kristina match up.  He's supposed to be in his early 20's I think and she's 16.  Not to mention that he's about 2 feet taller than her.  I see a pleasant chemistry like they could be friends but beyond that no.  All I can say to Ethan is that she's jail bait, her mother is a Casadine and her father is the local mob king.  If that doesn't say keep away in neon lights I don't know what does.  But I do hope both Ethan and Michael find out what Keifer is doing to her and let him have it.

Loved seeing Diane and Max back together.  They are as cute and funny as always.  Loved seeing Carly, Jax and the kids together and the Q's and Spencers together.  At least some traditions haven't been dropped.

Thank y'all. I'm so happy my letter go in the mag. It's kind of long.

I don't think I can really express in words how much I love Nikolas and Elizabeth together on General Hospital. I never thought I would like to see Nik and Liz together in a romantic capacity. They were only one of two sets of opposite sex friends (Jax and Alexis being the other) who has never had sex. I am so glad the writers thought of this storyline. Nikolas and Elizabeth have major chemistry and just steam up my television every time they are on. Now that Jonathan Jackson has come back to GH in the role of Lucky, it makes this triangle even more soapy. I was a huge LnL2 fan and would love to see Lucky and Elizabeth reunite yet I want to see where Nikolas and Elizabeth's forbidden romance is going to go. Now that Luke has seen them, I'm even more excited waiting to see the fallout. With this upcoming Cassadine v Spencer storyline coming up, I am wondering what will happen to Niz and if they can survive   After tuning out of General Hospital last year because of the mob storyline, I am thankful GH was able to get me to tune back.

BigDede nice letter..i may not share your love for the couple but it was well written and I am pleased for you that they chose it for publication.

Sam tried to ask I think but it was clear Alexis wasnt going to talk about it and remember when that was all first going on Sam was in the hospital and then desperately trying to please mom - she wasnt going to rock the boat.  But when they said that I thought if its so much worse than two mob guys that she doesnt want to tell it has to be pretty bad.  I still think they missed the boat not making it Robert - was it just me or was the similarity striking today between Sam's and Robin in terms of their appearance??

ICAM Lisa has zero chem with any of them. I dont see this actress lasting long.  Thats the first casting dud they have had in a long time.

I love Diane and Max and am glad that they are back together, but was I the only one skeeved out by the dirty gloves and the plunger?  It made me seriously want to FF>

Luke and Laura - laura had already murdered someone and wasnt she also out of highschool?  I think thats the big barrier for me.  If they go exceptionally slow and make his story with her for the first year all about being a friend, protecting her from Kiefer etc. and then having the night of her graduation being their first time I would be okay with that even with the 5 year age gap.  But  like Marezi said, I have little faith in tptb to take their time.

Okay off to watch adam lambert on Letterman.  He just started and he is in fine voice tonight!

 Not only does JT and Colleen apply to this, but techincally, so does Lily and Cane. Even in his wedding vows to Lily, he made a comment of how young she actually is. Besides, Nathan Parsons is 21 and Lexi Ainsworth is 16.... I've honestly seen a lot worse (cough any sexual child abuse story ever cough). They have great chemistry, and pairing a Spencer with a Cassadine/Corinthos would create a whole new bridge to cross, story-wise. Good move by Guza having them chem test.

Congrates BigDede!! I had a letter to SOW published awhile ago (about JaSam, lol) so I know how exciting it is!!!

I remember JT and Colleen when they first started the pairing, and as I recall it was somewhat controversial. I mean she looked like a little baby and he was older and more experienced and a bit of a bad boy. BUT they took it really slow so I was okay with it.

I'd be ok with a Kristina/Ethan pairing, if they had a year long courtship - with NO sex. But I doubt that'll happen, lol.

As for Laura. Wasn't she married to Scotty when she was 17, and he was already a law student?

i love jasam. BUT today i loved SAM without Jason. To see her with her family was great. and I loved the Robin/Sam dynamic and I hope for more! It was a fun show Hope GH sticks by episodes like this and spixie's non wedding. 

Maybe I'm just desensitized to it, but I don't see the big deal with the age gap. My cousin was 17 and in high school when she met her 26 year old(at the time) future husband. They now have two kids and the stablest relationship of anyone I know. Age isn't always everything. Yes, Kristina needs time to grow and mature but a budding friendship/relationship with Ethan wouldn't stop that. In fact, it might help.

And thank Delia Diva! Amber's Emily will always be my Emily. Her and TC's chemistry(friendship and otherwise) was amazing.

Ah yes but I think after the whole Keifer thing plays out, Krissy wont be wanting to have sex for a while. Even Lulu waited a while after he had an abortion to sleep with Logan.

J.T.'s relationship with Colleen was immensely popular despite their "controversial" age difference. J.T. was most popular when paired with Colleen, the tough yet innately sweet young sophomore even though they were ONLY 3 years apart.

I think if they gave it shot and put their faith into it like the headwriter did over at Y&R then it could work.

Though for me, nobody will come close to the Colleen and Jt pairing. (I'm still upset at how it ended..)

I don't understand what's the big deal of the characters' age gap. GH is a soap, the writers age up and age down characters for the benefit of creating potential storylines.  Anyway, I think Kristina and Ethan are cute together!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 

I like Ethan and Krissy so far. They have chemistry and could become really a great couple. The age difference is there, yes, but I think it can make a good conflict. And I would rather see my daughter with 20ish guy, than with a teenage abuser like Kiefer.

I loved the Q's and the pizza. That was great and fit in very nicely.

Alexis and Mac ... I can't wait what will happen there - if anything happens. But I liked that Robin and the Davis' girls decided to set this up. Was really nice and sweet.

Loved Diane and Max. Such a cute little story.

Don't like Lisa at all. She should go away ASAP!
