The Mystery Deepens on Gotham
By Mike Jubinville on December 07, 2009

The mystery behind Catherine (Martha Byrne) and Richard's (Michael Park) past hasn't come to light, but there was sure a lot of tap dancing on the second episode of Gotham! As Catherine took the short term spotlight to promote her cause, Richard listened, while Sheila (Margaret Reed) used her feminine wiles to distract him. Guiding Light favorite Maeve Kinkead (Dinah) made her debut and looked fantastic doing so. Catch the episode after the jump.

I really am enjoying Gotham so much. It was sooo nice to see Mauve. I was never a big Byrne fan, but I am enjoying her work a lot.

This would make a good series, Great to see those three women again, they ought to pitch it to TNT.

Meh. Venice is better, and that isn't saying much. Martha's house looks wonderful, though, and all the characters are gorgeous.

Oh, that hurt. These websoaps either have terrible production values OR they try to shove 60 minutes of story beats from a conventional hour-long soap into under ten minutes, or both, like this show, and that's why they fail. No characters, just plot and bad production. And Venice, aka Otalia II: Revenge Of The Fallen, that doesn't have a story either. These shows need to stop with the crappy folk rock music, fix the sound, and get down to the business of creating solid scenes, either one or two per episode, because that's all episodes of these length can afford. It's like Ellen Wheeler cursed the websoap, these shows all feel like her.

Brief, but EXTREMELY important Correction!!!!!!!
You've listed Maeve Kinkead as Dinah....Maeve Kinkead played the wonderful, beautiful, snobby yet sincere Vanessa Grace Chamberlain Harper Lewis Lewis Reardon Lewis....Dinah was Vanessa's daughter
C'mon now, we're still mourning the loss of Guiding Light, let's not forget its history so quickly....I'm sure it was a simple error, but it cuts deep into fresh wounds, lol

It wasn't an error. I wrote Guiding Light favorite and the character MK played on GL. In the context of the entire post, I can see where that might have been misunderstood.

Mike,
My apologies...having now watched the clip I see that MK's Gotham character is named Dinah....sorry to accuse anyone at DC of dishonoring Guiding Light history......no hard feelings?
