Did Barbara Bloom Want Stephen Nichols as Y&R's Tucker From the Start?

TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco has more details on Stephen Nichols' upcoming arrival on The Young and the Restless as Tucker Mccall in the latest Suds Report.
Nichols began taping his scenes on Dec. 17. The former DAYS and GH superstar is set to debut in Genoa City on Jan. 27. So why the quickie switch? Suds Report has learned from a source that, “There was no behind-the-scenes problem with William. Barbara Bloom wanted Stephen for the role from the start — and in the end, she got her way.”

I never know whether to laugh or cry when I see this picture of Barbara Bloom.
But I am glad that Stephen Nichols is heading to Y&R even though I didn't mind William Russ' "Tucker". Stephen always made me pay attention to GH when he was on with Mary Beth Evans. His Stefan was just too sexy... Here's hoping his "Tucker" is just as smoldering.

Does that mean Stephen Nichols was the Days' actor who declined a role becase the money wasn't high enough? I would have gussed it was Matthew or Drake.
