General Hospital: Perkie's Observations
I loved, loved, loved this episode. I find it interesting that my two favorite episodes this year (Thanksgiving and this one) contained no Sonny or Jason. Coincidence? I don't think so!!
I loved everything Scrubs. From the play fighting about the tree, to the cuddling and canoodling on the couch, to the brief Emma sighting at the end, trying to take that toy out of her stocking. I hated the inclusion, again, of Lisa. Matt was one thing, as Patrick's brother with nowhere else to go, but Lisa honing in on another family celebration is beyond annoying.
Spixie: I thought they did a bang up job. I liked that he firmly informed her that he wasn't going to have random sex, to appease her guilt. I thought Mac showing up and being upset that she was upset was well done, as were the Georgie's death and Felicia mentions.
Line #1 of the day:
Spinelli to Maxie: "You don't get to be unfaithful to me and then dictate how I react to it."
I loved the Davis family Christmas and was glad to see Sam join them. I loved that Diane was also with them and that Max was allowed to join them. I love the absolute look of joy on Molly's face whenever she sees Mac and the sweet way they got them both under the mistletoe.
Funny line of the day:
Mac: "Interesting guest list"
Diane: "He means you"
Max: "I'm aware of that"
I loved all the CarJax moments, to the silly way Carly had to get Morgan to tell her where the present was, to Carly crazily falling off the house to that giant "newborn" Josslyn, to the family shot of the kids. I'm not sure when they had time to take that shot, considering all of Michael's problems lately, but I can easily put reality aside for one day, for a sweet moment.
Loved Ethan trying to get Luke to go to the Spencer Christmas. Loved that Tracy went and was nice to Lucky. And I abslutely loved the Lucky/Luke scene. As much as I was a fan of GV's Lucky, I just don't think he could have pulled off that scene. While I often find JJ to be too emotional in his scenes, he had just the right amount here.
Second line of the day:
Lucky to Luke: "I'm not expecting a big miracle, just a small one. Just my dad. With me. On Christmas day. That would really make me happy."

Perkie- glad to hear from you! We've all been waiting! Like I said on the other board, I liked today, it was good all around. Except for Mac losin' his mind with Spin like he ALWAYS does, so annoying. AS USUAL, he jumps to conclusions when he has NO IDEA what the hell is going on. I know he thinks he's "taking care" of his girl, but seriously, she's a grown ass ho' and you have NO IDEA what's going on! GRRR! Why were all the Davis girls wearing black except for the BEAUTIFUL Molly? It's Christmas people, not a funeral. LOVED the portrait Jax gave to Carly. I can't stand Jax but extra brownie points for that! Loved the Spencer Xmas and that Luke finally showed. I knew Lucky could talk him into it! Loved Ethan reading to the "joeys". On the down side, I was sad that there was no reading the story at the hospital. C'mon, that's a tradition! Edward should be doing it now. Loved the second or two with Emma before Lisa the Stalker showed up. I hate it that she seems to show up wherever Scrubs are and it's COMPLETELY annoying. But all in all a good Xmas. HAPPY AND HEALTHY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!

I'm an old-fashioned kinda person so I was a tad disappointed when I saw that we weren't going the traditional route this Christmas but the episode was so good, after a while, I forgot to be disappointed.
I found myself enjoying people I normally don't care that much about. It was all very warm & fuzzy & feel-good and I'm all about that around the Holidays.
I thought Spinelli played his hand very well - he's not over-the-top and is reacting appropriately under the circumstances. The argument Spixie had today was touching...I felt bad for both of them.
I love Jonathan Jackson. I haven't figured out how he'll fit into the story at this point and I'm not at a place where I can be blindly on Lucky's side after the absolute destruction of the Lucky character over the last 10+ years but the improvement is remarkable. I think Greg Vaughn is wonderful human being and I wish him ONLY the best but his limitations prevented him from doing anything of any emotional import. I think he did his best work with Natalia Livingston and Kelly Monaco because their acting skills/abilities were more equally matched. With Jonathan Jackson in the role I'm anxious to see if/how the canvas becomes more equally balanced and how it will affect the significance of the Spencer clan in future storylines. It seems to already be happening and I'm enjoying seeing that family dynamic.
Dominic/Dante is making me enjoy LuLu. Unbelievable. He's just so stinkin' cute!
I may be in the minority but I seriously hope they don't put Alexis and Mac together. I wish they would use Mac more - he is sexy as all heck and can milk every ounce of emotion out of scene when given the opportunity...I would like to see him in a juicy, original, love story...just not with Alexis. Alexis needs Ned or even Ric. Mac? Doesn't make sense to me.
On a chuckle to myself note...I thought it was interesting that Sam who has been stuck like a boil to Jason's ass for weeks and weeks...who yesterday wrings the most unbelievable admission of love from him...today...*poof* the Penthouse Pet magically disappears after this deep, highly charged emotional moment (READ: ZZZZZZZ) as his shadow and only to reappear at her Momma's house exposing her family to the psycho Franco. Did Franco take the Holidays off from Crazy? She's the dumbest Bad Ass Port Charles will ever hope to see.

Perkie, I hoped you'd check in today, Happy Holidays.
I cried hard watching today's episode which means I loved it. I started when Mac yelled at Spinelli re: Georgie and Felicia. I felt bad for Maxie, dealing with death near the holidays when so many expect everyone to be in good cheer is esp. difficult add to that the tremendous anger she still feels toward her mother and her current situation with Spinelli and KS's performance today and my heart broke.
Then JJ/Lucky esssentially begging Luke to come for Christmas and I was mush.
I even had a few tears or the reveal of the portrait of Carly's children though the bigger question re time is when did Jax take Josselyn away from Carly.
Agreed on the funny line of the day, I was also grateful for Diane who made me smile through my tears.

I actually enjoyed most of all three episodes this week.
Loved watching Sonny have dinner with Olivia and Dante while both Sonny and Dante know nothing of their actual family connection. It was interesting to see how Dante joined in the conversation without giving away that Olivia is his mom. It looked like a nice family scene.
Loved the JaSam ILY's and the sweet little Christmas tree!
Loved the Davis family Christmas scenes, both the decorating cookies scene and the scene by the fire. Diane was a hoot in both and I was happy to see Sam, Mac and Max there this time. I like Alexis with Mac so I hope they'll let it play out to see if it goes anywhere. Molly practically swoons when she sees Mac. lol I was glad that Keifer wasn't there today.
Hated the bar scene with Lucky, Liz, Rebecca and Nik. Nik appeared to be very bored and Liz, what the heck was up with her? Good for Rebecca that she got one more shot in before exciting GH. I think when Lucky finds out the truth he's going to be beyond angry with Liz and Nik as well he should be!
Loved the Scrubs Christmas scene but hated Lisa being there.
I thought the Spinelli and Maxie scene was very well done but does Mac have to threaten him with jail every time he sees him? I think the two Christmas trees say a lot about their personalities and how extremely different they are. I wonder how long they can last?
Franco seems to be inserting himself more and more into Jason's life. Wonder if all that baby stuff he told Carly at the Christmas tree lot was true and what kind of security system does Jax and Carly have if he could so easily break into their house to steal Jocylen's hat? Carly usually has good instincts about people but she seemed to be ignoring all the alarm bells going off when she talked to Franco.
Too bad we didn't get to see the Jax family in church. Didn't Morgan and Michael tell Sonny they couldn't stay for dinner because they were helping to decorate the church and the priest was giving them a special call out during the service? That would have been fun to see especially as Sonny attends the same church as the Jax's as I think do many in Port Charles.
Loved the Jax family Christmas scene and the beautiful portrait of the chidlren. But what was she thinking climbing up on to the roof? It looks to me like it's a two story house at least so that had to be quite a fall and yet she didn't seem hurt at all.
Loved the Spencer family Christmas scenes and that Tracy was there as well as Ethan. I thought Nik looked out of place and uncomfortable. Loved the Lucky/Luke scene and I'm happy that Luke showed up. Very passionate kiss between Luke and Tracy. Happy that Lucky invited Dante to be there for Lulu and love how cute they are together. Great scene with Ethan reading a story to the children and I loved how Lulu waited for Lucky to return before putting Laura's angel on top of the tree.
Perkie, I agree with you. The Thanksgiving and Christmas shows were wonderful and hopefully TPTB know how much we apprecaite the family scenes as well as the more light hearted scenes so maybe we'll get more of them and not just on holidays.
I hope everyone has a beautiful holiday!

I’m going to be fair to Maxie for today. She is dealing with Georgie’s death and Felicia’s abandonment. On a side note, I wonder why she seems more resentful about Felicia abandoning her than Frisco. She never even mentions him and neither did Mack today. So I do think she was truly upset and not just playing Spin.
About Mack, if he’s going to continue to abuse his power, he doesn’t deserve his job and someone needs to fire him. “If you make her cry again, I’ll throw you in jail.” On what charge? What will he do? Accuse Spinelli of abusing her? I almost hope he does throw Spin in jail on some trumped up charge; then Diane can get Spin out, Mack can be fired and then he won’t have any more power to abuse. Then what will he do? He’ll have to grow up and give up this sick obsession with his daughter’s love life. He’s not taking care of her; he’s sticking his nose in where it has no business, making the situation worse and he doesn’t even know what the situation is.
I think everything he said to Spin was designed to make him feel guilty and throw him off track. Hello, Mack! Of course, Spinelli knows Georgie died in December; he’s the one who found her. Mack doesn’t know what’s going on, but he played on Spin’s compassion and now they’re just putting off something that is far from over. If Mack does find out Maxie slept with a dangerous psycho, he’ll probably blame that on Spin, too, because Maxie is never responsible for her own actions; she’s absolutely perfect. Disgusting! Sickening!
Spinelli needs to be free of the Spixie relationship not only because Maxie will eventually hurt him again, but because then he doesn’t have to put up with anymore idiocy from Mack.
It was perfectly in Spin’s character, though, to want to spend Christmas without arguments or bad feelings, so I guess, if I don’t want to be a Scrooge or a Grinch and I don’t, I have to give Mack a tiny bit of credit for distracting Spin from his perfectly justifiable anger long enough to give himself and Maxie a good holiday.
It made sense to me to have the Spixie argument in the Christmas episode. Christmas unfortunately doesn’t always pause reality and it wouldn’t have been realistic for them not to be arguing about their issues.
Tracey seems lighter and more fun lately; I like it.
I laughed out loud at Carly falling off the roof and killing poor Rudolph. Too funny, and the trick she used to get Morgan to tell her where the gift was, lol.
It took me a while to decide, but on Monday I decided that I don’t like Lisa! I wonder if it was her idea to crash the Scrubs Christmas.

Loved the portrait of Carly's kids. Why can't we always see the Michael that we saw in the Christmas episode? It was so nice not to have gangster wanna be Michael in some scenes.
Love, love, LOVE Lulu and Dante!
That Lisa chick is just annoying no matter where the put here.

I mentioned on the board that it's episodes like this that make me see red towards the editing team. I am by no means a JaSam 2.0 fan but I think it doesn't say much when the biggest day of their new committment is a five second ILY and then the next day its like it never happened. Does anyone know where I can send a banner to the editing team that reads "CONTINUITY"
These are the episodes I love and makes me long for days gone by.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all GH posters and of course to the wonderful people here at DC who give me a place to vent and discuss.

Perkie did you take a JaSam ILY sabbatical LOL
Not really!! I had my office Christmas dinner on Tuesday and didn't get a chance to post. By Wednesday, I had forgotten all about JaSam in the midst of a lovely family episode.
Now, I'm not a JaSam fan, so maybe that's coloring my thoughts, but I really wasn't feeling the ILY. Jason's obsessed with crazy Franco, just finds out that Franco ran down Ronnie and approached Carly and baby, and then goes home and decides now is the time to say it to Sam? It felt forced (on SBu's part), like they had to throw it in this episode and neither actor was ready to say it with feeling.
But that's just me.

Oh, I loved yesterday. I thought everyone was exactly where they needed to be--the Scrubs family (although Lisa IS an annoying addition thus far), Spixie struggling to maintain their love in the face of pain, the Spencers together, CarJax and family, Alexis and her girls (I really liked that there was no Jason, Sonny, Olivia or Johnny in this episode--I am so tired of all of them) with Mac, Diane and Max.
I thought the Spixie fight and the aftermath were both extremely realistic and well done. I really love that they are both trying so hard here--he said things to her that needed to be said (about Franco using her, and also about how much she'd hurt him) but in the end, I also think they needed to affirm their love for each other, because love is what will get them through all this eventually. What Mac said didn't bother me at all, because, well, whatever she does or doesn't do, Maxie is his daughter and he'll always take her side. And I loved that they talked about Georgie. IA with whoever said that Spin was probably already truce minded when he went over there--he wouldn't have gone if he hadn't wanted to spend Christmas with Maxie, in spite of everything.
All of the Spencer stuff was so sweet, and I got teary when I saw Lulu and Lucky put Laura's angel on the tree. *sniff* I also got teary when Michael and Morgan showed Carly her portrait. So sweet! I'm not the biggest CarJax fan, but I do like them together when they are like this.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF THE DC STAFF, POSTERS, AND LURKERS!

I really enjoyed this episode. When it started off with CarJax, i was kind of 'meh, i hope they aren't in it a lot', but they ended up being my favorite part. I loved when Carly tricked Morgan. And when she fell off the roof and everyone jumped up,lol.
Patrick&Robin continue to be adorable and amazing. Lisa continues to be ... Lisa.
I really enjoyed Spixie as well. This is the first time since the fallout that they've had a real, serious discussion. I wanted to strangle Mac with my bare hands with the way he treated Spinelli though. I was glad they brought up Georgie, even if it was manipulative.
LOVED the Spencers <3 Great Luke and Lucky stuff at The Haunted Star. And I loved when Lucky placed the angel on the tree. [I realize it's not popular opinion, but I like Ethan. I just wish he'd get a shave and a haircut.]

Loved everything Spencers. Luke and Lucky was just amazing. JJ does tend to get a litte too emotion at times but yesterday was perfect.
I loved seeing Liz snuggle with Jake on the couch.
Still waiting on that DNA test for Alexis and Sam.
Love how Molly lights up whenever Mac comes around.
So glad I wasn't subjected to Olivia/Sonny/Jason yesterday.
Emma is so cute and Scrubs was cute. What happened to Lisa's DA friend? Why isn't she hanging with her! Stalker
Glad to see Carly's hair didn't suffer when she fell like that.

Why is everyone don't want Sam to be Alexis's daughter? I think Sam fits perfect there she is like Alexis and she looks like Molly and Kris.. I loved seeing her with her sis and mother it was amazing family scenes....
About Jason has his fan I hate that I don't see him celebrate the holidays anymore there were amazing years that Jason was in that episodes and it was really good holiday episodes!!!!!
Maybe next year he will be in the Davis house with his and Sam's children ....NNNNNNN

BigDede - There will NEVER be a DNA test for Alexis and Sam. The paternity was already proven when Sam and Jason found her original birth certificate at the lawyer's office and when Sam allowed her baby's stem cells to be used to save Kristina's life even before knowing Alexis was her mother. Her baby's stem cells were the perfect match for Kristina because she's Alexis's daughter and the baby's father was Sonny, also Kristina's father.
So don't hold your breath. You'll turn blue and pass out long before any DNA test ever enters anyone else's mind!
I hope everyone has a beautiful holiday!

GH Lover the haters want her to not be a Davis because that also makes her a Cassadine and as such a member of a core family. Its just more random hate that makes no sense. If suddenly Sam turned out not to be Alexis, the haters could disguise there desire for the show to have even more Lizard time and less Sam time by saying "the show should focus on core families" (which I think is comical given that there hasnt been a Webber other than Lizard on the show full time in ages, and the only other Hardy retired how many years ago now.) Its just a dig because the Cassadines are far more important to the canvas now.
My Christmas wish is for prosperity for all of us and for improvements to our show so that we have a greater focus on love and adventure with couples like JaSam, Lute, Spixie and Scrubs.
6 January 2008

It's not that I don't want Sam to be Alexis daughter, I'm just waiting for the DNA test. I'm not a hater. Loved that girl on Port Charles. LOVED HER!
Just because Kristina was able to use the stem cells from Sam's baby means nothing. Kristina and Sam's baby had one major thing in common, they were both Sonny's babies. That's why the Stem Cells matched.
Also remember Sam has that rare blood type that Alexis didn't match back when she got shot and that bullet traveled from her back to her uterus to her head, she needed blood and only Nik was a match. But that doesn't prove anything because Nik's rare blood type is also a match for Lulu's. He was the only match for Lulu when she got sick and he saved her. So therefore Lulu and Sam's blood type match.
Also being born in the same clinic on the same day Alexis gave birth means nothing. I just want a DNA test.
Sam is great when she's hustling. She will never be my favorite character Livvie again, although she would be a great bad girl, but I want to see Sam hustling again. What if Sam finds out everything she had, a real family, isn't true and Alexis isn't her mother. Then KeMo would have a great storyline where she breaks down emotional and sets out to search for who she really is. She's a PI and her and Spinelli could work together to find out who she is. She could meet mysterious men along the way. She could also be like Skye and able to travel around to the different soaps.
15 July 2008
3 hours 34 min
The day Alexis gave birth only two children were born that day - a boy and a girl. Unless Alexis failed anatomy 101, she knows the difference between a little boy and a little girl. Sam knows where and when she was born.
For Sam not to be Alexis' child we would have to believe
a. Alexis didnt know she had a boy
b. Sam as a co-inky-dink just happened to be born on the same day at the same time as Alexis' child
c. in another co-inky -dink she just happened to produce a child suitable to donate to Kristina AND
d. in still one MORE co-inky-dink she also just happened to have the same rare blood type as Nik
I suppose it could have happened that way, but it would strain credulity to think it did. Hey while we are at it, maybe Anna and ALexis gave birth on the same day at the same place and no boy was born - both girls, switched, making Sam a Scorpio and Robin a Davis. That would be just about as plausable LOL.
The story is not about Sam's MOTHER, its about finding out who her father is.
As for Sam the hustler, she conned because her family demanded it and because later she needed money to evade the police (the false murder charge) and to take care of her brother. She doesnt need to hustle now as she has a legitimate source of income from a profession she is obviously excellent at. Mystery men - nah - she has her soul mate....JASON...to be by her side.
1 January 2009
1 hour 57 min
BigDede - I'm not sure if you remember but when Kristina was sick lots of people including Sonny got tested for a bone marrow transplant and no one was a match other than Sam's baby. So clearly there is more to it then just Sonny being the father of both children. It required both Sonny's genes and Sam's genes to get the perfect match!
I'm looking forward to Sam's hunt for her father. That should prove to be an interesting storyline involving many of the other characters as well.
And now that I think about it, Nik and Spencer were at the Spencer's Christmas party but hopefully they will also visit the Davis's during the holidays as they are a part of that family as well. They hardly ever play up the fact that Alexis and all three of her daughters are also Cassadine's. The Spencer's, the Cassadine's, the Davis's and even Sonny are all connected so Sam is definitely a member of a core family!
EET - Well said!

Good morning and merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a safe an happy day!
I kind of see why they put the I love you in there the way they did. Jason knows he and everyone he loves is in danger and wants Sam to know how he feels in case he doesn’t get the chance to say it later. It makes sense that there would be no emotional, passionate intonations behind it; JaSam just don’t do things that way unless they’re in the heat of the moment. This was a calm moment, so it was said calmly. To me, it would have seemed forced if there had been heat and passion behind it.
Don’t kill me, but I’m starting to like Ethan; he’s actually growing on me.
I get that Maxie is Mack’s daughter and he’ll take her side, but he doesn’t have to be such a creep about it. Whenever someone does something he doesn’t like, or he thinks he knows what’s going on and he’s totally off base, he thinks he has the right to threaten people, particularly the guys in Robin and Maxie’s lives, just because he’s the Police Commissioner. He doesn’t get to arrest someone just because they won’t do what Maxie or Robin tells them to do. He doesn’t get to treat Spinelli like dirt just for being there. He doesn’t get to threaten to throw someone in jail for being honest just because Maxie’s crying. Maxie is crying because Maxie is the one who put herself in the situation she’s in with Spinelli. If she hadn’t betrayed him, he wouldn’t be angry with her and she would have no reason to be apologizing and crying. Yes, Mack, Maxie is at fault here, so shut your ignorant trap until you have all the facts.
I could totally see Spin or Ethan reading The Christmas Story.
