Didn't they just do this with Michael last year?

Billy goes around turning red, ranting and raving all the time, or he has since his return last year...wouldn't it be more of a sign of dire straits if he didn't behave this way?

This also makes his family look awful, because even though they've battled alcoholism and even though they believed for 20 years that drunk driving had killed Phillip, they all just stood around, blase, when he was blitzed at the Chancellor gathering and spewing his booze breath at poor baby Delia.

I wish this scenery chewer would get to take a break already.

I'm to believe that Billy, out of everyone on the show, is the most screwed up that aliens posing as John "Yawn" Abbott decide to pay him a visit & straighten him out!?!?

I guess Patty, Victoria, Nick, Victor, Adam (Baby-Killer/Baby-Stealer), Kevin, and so many others are not that big of a problem for God.

did the Abbotts cause H1N1 or something? The way everyone treats them you'd think they were part of Al-Qeida! Kevin & Gloria get better treatment than them!!!

and can Ghost-John go away for real!?, he is so annoying passing judgement on Jack.

I can't believe that the Boring, Stupid, Lame, etc. story of the Terronni painting/Dead-Guy/Ryder-Daisy's mom is going to continue into 2010!

The Best Supporting Actor Emmy better go to Billy Miller at next year's Emmy ceremony.

As far as The Moustache you hit the nail right on the HEAD!. I hate how the writers are making Billy out to be the bad buy and all he did was write a couple articles.  No one else has been this ostracized since LML did it to Jack Abbott.  Come on can the Abbotts catch a break!

Well said, Moustache, very well said.  Billy is the least of anyone's worry.  I tell you who's spirit needs to pay their kid a visit and rip a new one and that's Adam's mom, Hope!  Let's see, gaslighting an innocent pregnant woman with a known history of mental illness.  Causing her to have a miscarriage, but continuing to let her believe that she's still pregnant.  Stealing your current flame's baby and telling her it died of deformities, to pass to the woman whom's miscarriage you caused.  Cheating on your former girlfriend with your male attorney in hopes of him keeping quiet.  The long, disgusting list of Adam's misdeeds just keeps getting longer and longer, yet it's Billy the Almighty has issues with and decides that Ghost!Dad needs to pay his youngin' a visit to set him right?  Whateva.  I'm so glad I quit this show months ago.

I'm all for Signy Coleman as Hope coming back and putting a foot in Adam's behind.

I'm kinda meh about Y and R doing a special story like this so soon after the 'It's a Wonderful Life' episode with Michael.  I honestly loved that episode, and I don't think you can get that kind of magic again with a character that is [as of right now] as unsympathetic as Billy.  I think the point of the episode is that Billy does still have a little decency in him but it's being muddled by his seriously self-destructive ways.  It would be nice if there was another way to point that out to him without what might be a super-preachy special episode.

Nicer still is if the powers-that-were hadn't killed off John Abbott in the first place.  :(

I don't watch Y&R much anymore not since Adam gaslighted Ashley into believing she was still pregnant and gave Ashley Sharon's child.  But I have to say Billy Miller is my favorite, and how I love Chilly.  So I will tune in for this episode, and will probably tune out afterwards until Thom Bierdz comes back.

I hate these emmybait episodes, especially considering that Y&R did the exact same thing last year with Michael.

Billy Miller is the only bright spot on this depressing and terribly written show.  I hope that he get a Emmy nod for it, but I will not be watching this mess of a show that MAB and her team of hacks have ruin that make me think that LML wasn't that bad.  LOL

Well this what we have come to folls! When a character has inner conflict throughout the yr. it'll come to head in an Emmy bait episode at the end of the yr.
I am working on Emmy posts that will be up either New Yrs Eve or New Yrs Day and Billy Miller has me at a question mark. This episode can cement him as one of the shows Lead actor prenoms if thar system is still in affect. Bergman is a lock! LeBlanc should sit out, but has court scenes from the chipmunk debacle that are good. And what we know about Braeden and his relationship w/the cast he is out. That leaves Doug Davidson, Billy Miller, & Josh Morrow. Doug and Billy are in a good place to go either or and Josh has some material, but idk. Well as an Emmy nut as Jamey would lovingly say I will definitly be watching this episode.

Billy Abbott tells the truth and those hypocrites in GC just can't stand that he is honest and that he is airing their dirty laundry.I hope him and Victor face off again so Billy can tell him to learn how to pronounce his words correctly and that his mustache has the leftovers of every genoa city woman in it lol

If this hastens an end to this stupid storyline that they've got Billy Miller trapped in then BRING IT ON!

Billy Miller is the most talented young actor in daytime and to have him retread the same material week after week...and then, on top of that, to put him opposite Amelia Heinle and Clementine Ford....his talent has been wasted.

Yes the character of Billy does tell the truth 100% even if he does use that magical magazine to get the message out. He does get unfairly maligned by the hypocritical newsmakers with threats of disownment and revenge.

I don't know which way this character is headed but I do want less bitterness and nastiness from him as well as for Billy Miller to cease that constant mugging.

I hope this epiphany type story line does not beome a yearly event because we already have too many repeats and cycles here. We need new  blood!

I usually don't watch these type of stories, but if Victor Newman gets knocked down a few pegs after a "Wonderful Life" moment, then I would love it.  As for Adam, I hope he is dead this time next year.

Frankly, I am getting sick of Billy Abbott in so many story lines.  I know he is MAB's golden boy but enough is enough.  So I hope after this special episode he is rested a bit.  Now that does not mean he should be off for weeks on end or shown once a week for months like CLB's Michael was treated much of this year, but maybe cut him down to two or three days a week and not shove him in multiple stories.  Let him play support for awhile.

He is not the end all and be all of the show.  He is an important member of the Abbott family and Billy Miller is a good young actor, but the way they are pushing and propping him, even at the expense of actors like Peter Bergman and Christian Le Blanc is too much too soon.  This guy has been on the show a little over a year and he has become "the star" along with Adam.

MAB needs to be careful with her new toy because as has been shown in the past , fans get sick of even talented fan favorites when they are shoved down our throats five days a week, week after week.

Plus Billy Miller plays a good jerk and a decent playboy/cad who refuses to grow up, but he has not shown that he can play sadness or grief.  Anger over losing someone? Sure but it has been painful watching him cry.  Say what you will about Christian Le Blanc " I am an actor" but he can play all emotions.  We'll see this week if Miller is up to the task or they are pushing him way before he is ready for this type of episode ala Jeanne Cooper and Christian Le Blanc.

I'm so sick of Billy. Is it too much to ask to have him only three times a week? Too much of a good thing ends up being a bad thing, never mind the fact that unlike most Y&R viewers I've seen on various boards I don't think Billy Miller is THAT good. He's okay, and a pretty great drunk but subtlety is not his forte, and could he keep his face still for one damn second and act with his eyes?! It may be the fact that I just saw like 4 episodes on a row, but it annoys me to no end how he scrunch his face and sucks his teeth. Billy fives times at week when he's acting like a jerk is five times too many, and now I'm gonna hide in a corner.

I agree Billy is on way too much. Adam and him are eating the show but at least Billy isn't a sociopathic baby-killer, baby-thief, that's torture pregnant women. He's just a drunk loser that whines way too much.

I'll take Billy Abbott, who is a legacy character, eating this show over anyone else on the young adult cast.  He is the best young adult actor on the show in my opinion.  He is a find.  That's just my opinion.

Adam is a legacy character too. And don't get me wrong i agree with you, Billy Miller is a find, but NOBODY should be eating a show ever, imo.

I agree with Smitty - if you can act your butt off, eat as much of the show as you want to as long as you're taking time away from the people who [can't] act.  [Hi there, Clementine Ford and the whole Daisy / Ryder thing and Eden too, while we're at it...Lurch from the Addams family has more acting ability than that girl...]

We are not saying that he is not one of the better actors of the younger set, but when he is in 50 more episodes that an actor of CLB's talents there is a problem.  When they are trying to make him the center of the Abbott family and give him scenes Jack should be playing there is a problem.  When they make him the main person in the Abbott family hurt by Colleen's death there is a problem.

Sure he is a legacy character, but he is not the most important character or actor on the show.  How long did it take these other actors to get their stand alone episodes?  Certainly more than being on the show a year and a half.  He may be a legacy character, but he is also a newbie.

Billy Abbott and Billy Miller need to play an important part on this show but he should not be eating it alive because while some love this character, others may like him but are at the point of resenting the non stop propping of this character and actor by the writers.  Once again, he is a good young actor, but he is not one of the top actors on this show and he is not ready to be a lead character.

Bunting,

I must say I totally agree with you. I like Billy Miller, please don't get  me wrong, but I also think he should have paid his dues a little longer before receiving a stand alone episode.

MM is MAB favorite toy, not BM, so this episode is to punished Billy and Adam should be punished severly.
