TV Guide Canada Names Chappell Entertainer of 2009

I'm not so sure Crystal deserves it. She's not as good as Carly as she was from 90-93 (especially 92-93).

I'm sorry but i'm tired of this woman. She's so blah and I'm over her. Enough press about her already. 

I think she deserves it, she did a lot on 2009, specially involving the fans, so why not? And I love, love her on DAYS. Carly and Bo are smoking hot, and her and Vivian are amazing.

Crystal deserve all the praise and love from her fans and critics and if you over her, that you, but she respects and loves her fans and they love her so keep doing the thing Crystal.

Crystal is being praised for work she did in 2009 as a whole. There really was no one else who compared when you look at the entire year, she had the lead story on one soap, had a return to another soap, that coincided with a huge ratings jump, and she also created her own web soap. That's a lot for a soap actress. She isn't getting all of her praise, simply for the Carly character on DAYS.

Love Crystal or not (I love her) there were no other single person to make a splash in the industry as big as Crystal's. Soap stars rarely embrace their fans the way CC has. She could have moved on from GL to Days without much thought but she is finding a way to keep her Otalia popularity going with Venice. She is so praised and in the press because she deserves it. If people are not on board with GL, Days or Venice then I understand why people are tired of it (i don't agree) but everything CC is getting right now is deserved. Regardless if Venice blows up in popularity or has a short run at least she did something.

Eden Riegel did the same thing as CC - returning to AMC and creating the all-too-awesome Imaginary Bitches, and winning an Emmy while doing it. 

Alison Sweeney does double-duty on DAYS and host of Biggest Loser - broadening the visibility of the soap and helping it gain viewers.

I'm not saying these women are more or less deserving of the recognition but CC does nothing out of the ordinary to be so worshipped. I was at Day of DAYS in LA and CC couldn't have looked more bored and annoyed. This is firsthand experience of how she "embraces her fans".  

 And another thing....she's the only one that charges for her online soap. Puh-leez, who does she think she is. That's douche.

 First of all, Imaginary Bitches DID NOT win an Emmy — so get your facts right, dude — and most entertainment — theatre, movies, plays., musicals, operas — charge for admission — so there is nothing wrong with that. Unless, of course, you're just a free baser.....

and the truth came out RCLGuard ... are you angry because you think Eden Riegel (I like her) is not mentioned or supported as much anymore? just like AlistairCrane might be angry because he/she is infatuated with Reva and Marlena and/or disliked GLs same sex  story (READ his/her posts) ... and that's fine with me, we all want our favorites to shine.
I like Eden but I didn't like her last story line on AMC. I think  Imaginary Bitches is cute but I rather see Buppies and Venice (my favorite), sorry.
As I said before, I like Eden and can't wait for her to be on the front pages again. In the meantime, Crystal is and her many fans support her.
BTW, do you think that Eden enjoys to hear that one of her fans is unfairly attacking a fellow actor because she's not on the front page? please ,don't insult Eden she is much better than that!

WTF are you talking about, Toni? I never watched Guiding Light so I have no interest in Reva or Otalia...and I like same-sex stories because I myself am gay. That's why I love Marlena so much! I don't know what you're accusing me of or why, but whatever it is, it's inaccurate.

this is not the only place you have posted your negativity and it is  getting tiresome! You may not read what you write but others do..if you don't like her, that's fine, it's your choice ....but going out of your way to put an actor down- especially if you "never watched Guiding Light so I have no interest in Otalia..." it's childish and insulting....

I'm not going out of my way. I LOVED Carly from 92-93. But she sucks now. It's unfortunate. And it's an honest critique. Not everyone has to love every character and every actor.

I am all for a good heated debate - thats the fun of a board, but when posters start telling each other to STFU or your an ass or your a nutcase then IMHO it goes to far.  I told off a poster the other day, but mostly out of frustration for mulitple posts in a row calling people nutjobs and what not.  It just akes the fun out of the posting.

EET- Agreed!  And we ALL know who the worst offenders are!  It is VERY hard, but I say we TRY to ignore them.  They are not worth our energy!

RCL I was specifically referencing the use of the word IDIOT not the debate itself.  I dont see why that was necessary to making the point.
