On today's episode of Daytime Confidential Luke, Jamey, Jillian, Melodie and Mike take a look back at the past decade in soaps.
Daytime Confidential readers and listeners voted for the best soap couple of the decade, lead soap actor and actress of the decade and supporting actor and actress of the decade and we have the top three results from each poll.
The DC gang make their picks in the same categories, choose their soap of the decade and reveal the names of the actors who they think were the worst soap actors of the decade.

Pratt`s writing for AMC, Bad character development for women look what`s happened to Sharon on Y& R she become the town woman whore come on MAB write better for the actress on the show , But sad to say that most female characters are being written so poorly by the writers of there shows .

I knew I would catch some flack for that but Neil has had some great stuff in this decade. He fought alcoholism, the "death" of Malcom and Dru, finding out Lily wasn't his biological child TWICE, and his remarriage to Dru. I think a lot of people that some consider supporting I would put as leading actor. Kristoff is a HIGHLY underrated actor. He was good throughout the decade.
OH yeah I forgot to say my favorite couple of the decade...I give you all one guess...Nikki & Victor Newman! No supercouple had as good of a decade as they had. Remarriage in 2002, the marital problems, and the divorce and the ultimate reuniting recently.

I do love Otalia, but I agree that they stole BAM's spot. For years they were *sigh* amazing and the BAMmers were such a huge and vocal fan base. Otalia took over just last year, they were great, ACT I and II, but still... I mean at least BAM kissed, THREE TIMES, and had off-screen sex for months... then Maggie went completely out of character and cheated on Bianca and Bianca... Well I don't know where the real Bianca is, but some pod version has been running around Pine Valley for the last years. Oh, I miss my BAM.

It's hard for me to choose the best. I just can't pick with all the great actors that have come and gone this decade, hard for me. The best couple for me, I can hands down say it was Sonny and Carly from GH. Not anything with the mess that is LW's version. Of course the soap of the decade for me is GH. It's just so hard to pick actors. I would pick Maurice Benard as actor of the decade, Sonny has been threw the wringer in tens years, both good and bad.
The worst, besides Niz and Liason who made/make me physically ill (LOL) is the soaps being canceled. Port Charles, Passions (twice), GL, ATWT. The near misses Days had, OLTL on the chopping block maybe. I'm even questioning AMC with the move to LA and not. Sad.

Couple: Nikolas and Emily, GH - They epitomized romance and love for me, and the actors had mad chemistry. And frankly, Tyler Christopher hasn't been worth a damn since that pairing.
Best and Worst Soap: GH - As an off-and-on viewer for at this point almost thirty years, GH has slowly gone from must-see-TV for me at the beginning of the decade to a putrid mess that has systemiatically killed off everything that was good about the show.

thank God you said Charity Rahmer. She is the WORST EVER! When K. Storms left & i had to endure those few weeks w/ Rahmer, I was just OMFG. My friends & I were talking about the how awful that Kristen Stewart chick from Twilight was at acting & when my friend Chelsea said she was the worst ever I busted out my blackberry, got on youtube & found that praying mantis clip. I couldn't even give her warning on how awful it was. It left my friends speechless & this was just a few months ago.

I had to check out youtube myself to see this Charity Rahmer. My word, how did she even pass her audition? She was horrifyingly bad. I hope the casting director responsible for that mess was canned along with CR.
