General Hospital: Perkie's Observations

“Michael Corinthos, Junior, you’re under arrest for the murder of Claudia Zachara Corinthos.”
Ok, so I got goose bumps when Dante pulled out that badge and got all Detective Falconeri on Sonny. However, I don’t understand why he didn’t pull out a gun with that badge because it just became about Dante trying to talk himself out of getting shot.
Kudos to Dominic Zamprogna because he was absolutely mesmerizing in those final scenes by bringing up Mr. Poleti, only to have Sonny dismiss him. Telling Sonny that he has no respect for him was beautiful.
As much as I hate Olivia, and I do, I did start crying when she pulled open the door and screamed out Dante’s name. Of course, that might have more to do with the fact that my man Dante was lying on the floor with a bullet hole in him, but you know.
I also don’t understand why SaSon felt they needed to kill a police officer. Lucky, Mac, all of PCPD’s finest have arrested Jason and Sonny at some point in their criminal lives. Most of the time, they didn’t even have any hard evidence. So why was this time so much worse than those others times? Was it just because Dante made them look like fools by being able to get that close?
I really, really love that so many people knew about this secret and managed to keep quiet about it for as long as they did. This show never allows their precious Jason and Sonny to be had and yet Dante, Jax, Olivia, Johnny, Lulu, Lucky and Mac all knew the truth. It’s a beautiful thing!
Now onto the rest of the show..
I love baby Jocelyn and how she seemed perfectly happy sitting in Lulu’s arms through the whole ceremony.
I love that Carly is just so darn happy with her big day and is totally unaware that the poop is going to hit the fan.
i wasn’t happy with Luke basically allowing Liz a free pass, but I was glad that he pointed out to Lulu that Nikolas is as much to blame. Lulu seems to think this is a pattern for Liz, first Jason and now Nikolas. What she fails to remember is that it’s a pattern for Nikolas too, first Courtney and now Liz.

RIGHT ON ALL COUNTS, PERKIE!!!!!
You think maybe Jax should have given Dante or Olivia the heads up.
Can't wait for the fallout.

Jocelyn is the cutest baby. Regarding Luke's treatment of Elizabeth, I like that he was understanding, considering the crap he's pulled, he realized that he is no one to judge. The Dante / Sonny stuff was terrific. I can only hope that there's some scene where Sonny acknowledges that his son turned out better for not knowing him, and that by killing the only father-figure that Dante ever had, Sonny sowed the seeds of his own distruction. It's very Greek tragedy indeed. Loved the chanting song too. Very well done, with the Olivia reveal--GH can really do those musical montages.

Great Episode.......agree with everything you said Perkie....though I couldn't quite focus during Luke's scenes because TG's hair kept distracting me.....lol...
Another great friday cliffhanger...can't wait for Monday!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG, I loved this episode. I loved all the Dante/Sonny/Olivia stuff. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a Sonny scene so much, and I actually like Sonny. I can't wait till Monday. BTW... I get the feeling Brenda's coming to town. They mentioned her name the other day and today Lady Jane brought up the fact that the Jax/Sonny feud goes back so long. Here's hoping!!

I like most of the show today as I liked the Dante/Dom and Sonny scenes and the actors did great work . I am not a Sonny fan but Sonny looked like he really didn't want to do this. The way he was shaking his head over and over when he found out For Sure that Dante/Dom was a cop was great. It seemed to me like he was holding out hope till Dante/Dom pulled out the badge. Are we to call Dom Dante now
I even liked the Luke and Liz scenes. But then Lulu came in and Liz reverted right back to her snarky / smirky ass self. It is like Liz knows she has Luke on her side, she has Nik on her side and she has Ethan on her side as none of these are mad at her or feels she is a lying slut and they are not going to judge poor lizziepoo but Lulu does know it or thinks it and Liz gets a smart mouth. Sure she is tired of the things being said but she sure came out of her breakdown fast and if I was her I wouldn't be smarting off to Luckys sister to damn soon. But I seriously was even thinking I was being to harsh on poor poor Liz and WOW wasn't even two days I am back to hating her ass. Haaatttttttteeeeee HER. no more mrs nice gal from me. She needs to go down and stay down. Damn she is like the UN-DEAD. She keeps coming back.
The baby is just priceless. They really have some pretty pretty babies and children on here. (except for young MyKill, he was one strange looking kid reminded me of Danny on Partridge Family or the kid on old Twilight Zone show that sent everyone to the cornfield)

I have seen the promo for today's show multiple times over the past week and yet at the end I still found myself tearing up and holding my breath. Great choice of religious music. Did you notice that Sonny closed his eyes and turned his face away when he pulled the trigger? No one does dramatic like GH!!
Loved the look on Dante's face when he was telling Sonny how much he despised him. And loved the look on Sonny's face when Olivia screamed Dante's name and then screamed at Sonny that he just shot his own son. Kudos to DZ & MB, well done!
Perkie, I think they wanted him dead because of the betrayal, not because he is a cop.
Loved Lady Jane lecturing Jax. She is always spot on. The tree was a nice touch. I wonder if she stopped at a garden nursery on the way from the airport or did she sneak the tree in from Australia?
I liked Luke taking the high road with Liz which to me speaks of his vast experience of having been on the other side of things. And I thought he gave Lulu some sage advice. I think I finally figured out what is going on with TG's hair. If anyone remembers Luke from his early years he always had a curly hair style (he does have naturally curly hair). And just a few years ago he seemed to have a lot less of it. I think he's wearing a wig which would explain the odd haircut he's sporting at the moment. I may be wrong but I have very strong suspicions.
Loved the Lulu/Dante scene where he notices her nervousness and he shares that he's nervous as well and then he calls her back and plants a big one on her! This couple is not going anywhere but up!!!
Liked the Lulu/Lucky talk and was glad that Lucky showed up at the christening. Loved Lucky's talk with God and Jason's question to Lucky "Is that how it works?". I loved the heartfelt talk Jason and Lucky had. And didn't both men looked sharp in those fancy suits?
Loved how excited Carly was about Jocelynn's christening and how excited Morgan was with all of her presents. That is one beautiful baby! I really missed seeing Carly's mother Bobbie. Couldn't GH have spent a little extra money to have Bobbie there? Loved that Spinelli was squirmming when Maxie annouced to him that Lulu and Dante were in love. Loved that Johnny caught Olivia searching the isles and immediately told her Sonny wasn't there yet. And did you catch what Patrick said to Robin? Loved his line that he was "feeling all warm and fuzzy, like he was part of a community. And yes there are factions that shift at the drop of a hat but it's all the same people in crisis and celebration which is a community." And Robin laughing at him.
GH had me on the edge of my "seat" for the entire hour! Is it Monday yet?

I thought today's eppy was amazing! Maurice and Dominic were freaking brillant! Kudos to them!
GH is killing it with these cliffhangers! I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time. Lol sassydreams, great minds!! I seriously can't wait until Monday!
I really loved how Dante knew what Sonny was planning. And really, could Sonny have been anymore obvious? You could totally tell he was up to something. No guards, "close the door", go to this street, at this exact spot...yeah, okay, that's not obvious at all, Sonny! Lol and Dante called him out on it, right down to the tire blowing out!
DZ totally and completely had me. Words can't even describe how killer he was. Loved how Dante told Sonny why he was a cop. And when Dante said he wishes Sonny's kids never see him they way Dante was seeing him...that was classic soap irony!! Freaking wonderful! I can't say enough about DZ's portrayal of Dante. I was in tears by the end of that scene. And then...
Olivia. Loved her "NOOOOOOOO!!" She gave me chills. I may not like her right now, but she sure knows how to scream! Loved the look on Sonny's face when she ran in and when she was shouting Dante's name. Absolutely priceless. I was a mess by the end of the episode, lol!

As for the rest...
I loved Lante, as usual! They were too cute at Kelly's. And at the church, Lulu just knew something was fishy when neither Dante nor Sonny were there. I'm really looking forward to what happens with Lante after this reveal.
Now about Liz...hmmmm...idk. I'm a bit confused. All of Liz's fans are concerned with the way she is going to be treated by the peeps in Port Charles, but the only one, aside from Lucky of course, that seems to be coming down on her is Lulu. Even Luke accepted her apology. Wtf is with that? I thought he would be somewhat infuriated that she would even show her face at the Haunted Star.... But, whatev. I guess it was cool of Luke to be nice to her. And when Lulu showed up, Liz did sort of tell her where to shove it...even if it was only one line. Lol! On another note, Becky is looking gorgeous this week!
Lucky's scene in the church was heartbreaking. JJ sucks me in everytime he is in a scene. Also loved his scene with Jason and him saying he didn't know what was going to happen with the boys. Good stuff by both Steve and Jonathon.
And the music at the end of the episode...whoa! That was intense.
Pysched for GH on Monday!!!

Marezi - Thanks. Glad you saw a group photo. I was missing Bobbie today. Maybe we'll actually get to see and hear her in some of Monday's scenes which would be nice.

January was an exciting month on GH. I'm looking forward to February!

ash - I like Liz. I don't worry about how she will be treated. It is just my take but it seems more like Liz haters are concerned with how she is treated. There are a lot of posters really salivating over Lulu slamming her. I really don't think folks who like her are saying she shouldn't have to pay the piper. I think they are just defending her for the sake of not letting her haters get carried away. I haven't noticed a single Liz fan say she shouldn't face the music. It is more like just saying Lulu was a bit over the top making it so public. Liz cheated on Lucky. Lulu is understandably upset but Liz shouldn't have to take it forever. THere will come a point if Lulu rags on her everytime she sees her that it will become more about Lulu and less about Lucky.
The thing I didn't like about Lucky with Jason is that he said he didn't know what was going to happen with the boys. Why is that? Is his love for the boys dependent upon he and Liz getting married? Can he not think of the kids through his hate? If that turns out to be the case, the boys are better off without him. That line bothered me. I would have liked him to tell Jason that he loves the boys. He will care for them despite his feelings for Elizabeth. That way Jason has put his trust in the right guy. I just think he should have been reassuring Jason and not scaring him. Is he trying to get Jason to move for custody out of revenge? That would certainly negate his prior assertions that Jake was safer with him. Doesn't he care anymore? I am more curious about Lucky's motives and next move than I am about Sonny and Dante.

GHvetfan- That's fair enough, lol. I honestly don't think Lulu will be treating Liz that way forever. I mean, that's how I would react if I were in Lulu's shoes. Yeah, I would be furious with Nik-the brother who cheated with my other bro's fiance-but I would prob. call Liz-the woman who cheated on my one bro with the other-every single name in the book just because she messed with BOTH my brothers. My logic would go out the window when I saw her because I would just lose it. And sure, I would never look at Liz the same way, but I don't think I would verbally attack her every chance I got. And I don't think Lulu will either...she will prob. just call her a slut every once in a while, lol! But, I do understand your point of Lulu taking it too far. IMO, I don't think she did, but I can see it that way if I was a fan of Liz. I also think it's just a knee-jerk reaction to Lulu finding out the truth.

I am really not a big believer in the idea that all fans of Liz hate Sam and that all Sam fans hate Liz. I also don't believe that all Sam fans agree with one another and vice versa. That just doesn't seem possible.

You're right, not all Sam fans hate Liz. And I'm sure not all Liz fans hate Sam. But, I think it escalated when Jason slept with Liz and had Jake. It's something that just stings, you know? Sam and Jason wanted to have a child together, but Liz and Jason got to have one together instead. It just sucked, basically, lol. Speaking for myself, I never use to hate Liz. And I can't exactly say that I HATE her now, I just don't like her. Does that make sense? Lol, I sure hope it does. I guess you could say that there are things about her that I hate. Yikes, I'm sure that makes a whole lot more sense, right? Ugh, I give up! Lmao!!

Just had time to skim, but wanted to throw a few things out....
I would have loved to watch Luke eviscerate Lizard...had Lulu and Lucky not already done so. Someone needed to say what so many fans are thinking and had Luke been the one to do that that would have been okay, however I think if luke had done that after the writers already went there with the kids, it would have been over kill and really, while i said a few days ago that I wanted him to give her hell out of loyalty to Lucky (because lord knows he owes Lucky something after years of giving him crap) as I was watching those scenes I loved that he said that while she isnt one of his fav. people right now he wasnt going to pile on. All I kept thinking at that moment was that the man is a forgiven rapist and thus has no room to judge anyone about anything ever.
Now before y'all start to think I switched teams, I will add that I hated the brief trot out of the Snarkabitch when Lulu came in. Yesterday she was all guilty and taken the well deserved smackdown and today she is all defiant and snarky -- it leaves me with the same feeling I always have with this character - which is the real Lizard and which is the persona she wears. I think the real lizard is probably the bitch defiant chick and if so I just have a few words - own it or shut the bleep up.
Now to the main event....transcendent. The writing was amazing, the acting even better. DZ did a hell of a job and more than held his own with a man I consider one of the best actors in daytime - Maurice Benard. THAT is really saying something. Loved the stuff about his mentor and about respect and the way MB played it low key and just really used small facial expressions to convey so so much. I even loved Olivia though I still put much of this on her.
I though IR also did a great job in the scene with Lady Jane. He almost wore his regret like a overcoat. I may hate what Jax did, but I just adore IR.
And lastly, I loved my CarSon scene. I really hope one day we get a reunion...would love to see how LW and MB would inhabit the CarSon relationship.

Okay, about Luke forgiving Liz.
HE BETTER!!!
Look what that man did to Laura. He cheated on his so-called "true love" while they were out on the run with Holly and fathered a child with her. Luke can't judge anyone. Yeah he's mad that Liz hurt his child like any parent would be but he can't pass judgement on anyone with what he did. Shoot Laura on the run with this fool, standing by his side and he goes and sex it up with Holly. Luke can't say crap.
I hate lulu and I love the boomerang comment because it's so true. Now I have hated Lulu since she got pregnant back in the day. She's cool with Dante because the SHREW isn't coming out. But when she turns into the SHREW, I don't think I can stand it. Even if Sonny/Jason deserves it, I don't think I can take seeing her shriek at them. I just don't have the eardrums for it.
I just loved Dante today. Thank goodness he didn't overact and start wailing his arms and making funny faces. You saw all his emotion in his eyes. I loved when he called Sonny a bastard. It was stupid of him to pull out his badge yet he had no gun. Made no sense.
Loved Johnny walking into the church. I just love Johnny. Period. Please get Maxie with him and out of Spinelli's orbit. Spixie is ruining Maxie.
After the fallout from the Niz reveal, we never saw Lulu call to make sure her drunk brother was okay or anything. But the next time she sees him, she's telling him to get over it for a minute and come to the christening for her sake. Whatever.
I was so hoping that bullet would ricochet off Dante's badge and hit Olivia right between the eyes and take her out once and for all. Put us out of our misery. If she forgives Sonny for trying to kill her only child, I honestly don't think I could continue to watch this show while she is on.

GH was good !!
Everyone did their part well ..
DZ and MB were good .. I loved the look if Sonny when he shoot Dante , I think he he didn't really want to do it , because he likes Dante , it is more the betrayal that Dante did , Sonny don't like it ....
Now why Sonny and Jason decide to kill him because he knows to much , he entered the org really deep , everyone that enters that deep is dead it is a roll
I loved the Lucky and Jason scenes I thought it was great , I can of understand Lucky , he is feeling so bad now , Liz hurt him again and again and that boys were for him a reminder of her , can he go back at them and be near her??
I loved that he was honorable , and was straight forward with Jason , and that Jason still has faith in him ...
Jax time is ending Yeaaaaaaa I want CarSon together LW and MB I think can be amazing GO Carson
Luke - I think Luke was fine with Liz she did hurt his brother BUT he is not perfect himself if he would turn his back he would be hypocrite , and I know that Luke is not ..
JASON WAS SO HOTTTTTTTT in the suit , I wish they would give jason more color to wear , like that episode , He was gorgeous more than anyone there .. and that Baby looked so amazing near him .. I want my JaSam family
Also I need to add as Much a I thought that it was good I have to say and admit that Claudia B day party was better at putting me at the end of my seat , it was more exciting for me ....

Marezi, I totally agree with you about regarding Liz and her attitude. I don't expect her to grovel forever but just because Luke forgave her she immediately reverted back to old Liz who smirked at Lulu. Too soon Liz, too soon.

The thing I didn't like about Lucky with Jason is that he said he didn't know what was going to happen with the boys. Why is that? Is his love for the boys dependent upon he and Liz getting married? Lucky IMO is a lot like Luke in the respect he is territorial he didn't give donkey's dung when he was addicted to pills about Cameron and Elizabeth only when she said she was pregnant with a child he thought to be his did he make a serious attempt to "clean up" he lied many times to say he was off the pills, dropped them around their apartment for Cam to pick up swallow by accident, not to mention with all his great love rarely said Cam name in dialog nor had many scenes with him before they pimped him as the bestest dad.
The way Elizabeth was written in this black hole of yet another wretchedly written pro male triangle. I never thought she shouldn't pay the piper but what character does on GH unless you're a pet project. She could have said she had a lapse in judgment and got off the hook. Not an Lucky/Elizabeth fan but I do like both characters and they have had enough triangles for awhile this should do it. Its been like three quads/triangles in succession. This stinker of storyline destroyed a lot of friendships I liked I can only tolerate LuLu in small doses and I like her with Nik and have always liked their relationship since when she was a tot.
And the Nik/Lucky/Elizabeth (Emily) friendship is one I've always enjoyed since the 90's. IMO there is no bouncing back maybe in the soap world but for me a fan of their friendship it will be forever destroyed for me...Guza did his job well.
I am not a loyal viewer of GH but I like DZ's Dominic/Dante and I don't know much surrounding the Sonny/Dominic confrontation, but the scene is reminiscent of the GodFather where Michael Corleone stands up to be godfather while the violent shootings is flipped / intertwined in that. I found this a cheap imitation, but the acting was off the chain by DZ and MB. What I liked about this one Sonny didn't have to call anyone a whore or a bitch and still rock it. Jason as godfather to Carly's kid I guess he's not chanting danger danger now...he can publically acknowledge being close to people without fear his enemies will retaliate.

I just wish Dominante had his gun... but if he did he would have blasted Sonny & that'd be the end of him b/c Dominante was a really quick draw. I remember like his 2nd day on the show when he was in Sonny's house and Johnny came into the room & he pulled his gun on him so fast, heh, even Johnny made a comment about it.

Again I can understand Lucky and him feeling that maybe he can't be the father to the kids , It is going to be hard on him.
think she in many ways used the kids to manipulate him so he will be with her ..
and the kids are a reminder of her and her hurting him...
Now Lucky is also to blame because he wanted to be their dad he came to Jason after he found out the truth and told Jason that he can't be the father and only her, Lucky can, he gave him a promise that he would love Jake and Cam as if they were is own and that means for better and worse , he can't just now because he had to much faith in LIz , say maybe I can't be their dad , that is also big wrong.
Maybe the big wrong is him getting back to her after their history...
My opinion that Lucky made the big mistake after he found out that Jason was Jake's father and he presser Jason to give him up THAT WAS WORNG!!
Lucky should have said Ok Jason you are the father and you should be with him and I also , they could with Liz work some custody agreement between 3 of them.
maybe now Jason needs to realize that he made mistake and that Lucky can't be the one he thought he is and make a deal with Liz on sharing custody.
Jake does not need to be with Jason all the time and they can spend time at Jason's PH with guards.
Is it perfect ?
NO but is it the way to live with emotional stress and a big lie?
Cake will feel that their dad hate them they will not know that this is their mother fault .
More Jake needs to know who is his dad before it is too late Like with Dante, that revelation will hurt Dante so much nothing can Justify it.
Jake needs to know the good part in Jason and the bad like any other child...

I re-watched the last scene off of youtube and it's actually much better the second time around.
Dante's simmering rage practically making him shake. The tears in his eyes. And yes, I noticed Sonny turned away when he fired. I couldn't tell if it was guilt that he was shooting this man that he's come to respect, or if he was being a coward and not watching the destruction that he's doing.
And I get that they wanted him dead because he betrayed them, but he was still a cop. He wasn't some schmoe infiltrating their organization he was a cop. Does that mean if they think Lucky or Mac betrayed them, it's okay to shoo them? I just would have thought some peopel are off limits, women, children and police officers.
As for Lulu/Liz, I agree with everyone who said a daily Lulu smackdown will get annoying and tedious and will take away from the original smackdowns. Liz didn't betray Lulu she betrayed Lucky and having Lulu call her a skank every time they run into each other is too much.
Liz suffered from Lulu's very public smackdown and if she now wants to be snarky in Lulu's presence, than I think she's earned that right.
Hated Lady Jane coming down on Jax like she did. Way to support your flesh and blood there. Just one more person who'll tear a strip off of Jax when the crap hits the fan. I think there are enough people who will do that, that we dont' need to add his own mother to the list.

I thought this was an amazing episode, and it perfectly displays how when GH is on fire, it is far better than any other show could be on their best day. Everything was perfect, from the writing, the lighting, the camera work, and the brilliant acting especially of DZ. I also thought JJ, LW, and IR, and JMB were really good too. I saw the final scene at least five times throughout the week beforehand, but I was still on the edge of my seat when it actually happened.
What I don't understand is people being upset with Jax and blaming Olivia. Sonny is a CRIMINAL and Jax owes him absolutely no loyalty. Sonny's presence does make his family less safe, with the obvious example of Michael being shot in the head! Morgan being as well adjusted as he is reflects more on Jax than it does Sonny. Morgan is rarely seen with Sonny and has no problem picking Jax over his dad. That is why he has a good sense of right and wrong, and is not the little snot that Michael is and was as a child. I think Olivia keeping Dante away from Sonny is one of the better maternal actions on this show. I usually don't like it when the mothers lie about paternity, but in this case (and Jake's) I think these kids are better off without Sonny (and Jason) in their lives. She cannot be blamed for Sonny shooting an undercover cop. That is the most dispicable act I can remember ever seeing on daytime. Like Perkie said, I would think a cop would be off limits. Dante did not betray Sonny, he was not some "snitch" doing it for money, or a rival trying to take his territory, or someone out for revenge. Dante is a cop, and to say that he betrayed him assumes that Sonny had a reasonable expectation of loyalty, which he did not, because Sonny is a criminal. What Dante did was embarass Sonny, and that is why Sonny shot him. And because he is afraid to go to jail even though he deserves for his betrayal of sociaties laws and rules. I also found it detestable that Sonny said "if he killed officer Poletti then he deserved it".
Even with that, the show is amazing right now, and I cannot wait until next week to see the fallout.

GH is indeed on fire. It would be a blast if all that fire was not mob-related. Sonny needs to go down and dissapear from the canvas and Jason should reconsider. I also see signs that Dante is going into the mob and that is regrettable!
