Don't call it a comeback, DAYS has been here for years. For the first time since May 2004, NBC's lone sudser Days of Our Lives is number two in total viewers (Source: Soap Opera Network)! DAYS gained 202,000 total viewers the week of Feb. 8-12 to accomplish this feat. The soap opera also went up one-tenth of a point in households, and held steady among women 18-49. DAYS was up year-to-date 480,000 total viewers. Somebody better tell Brad Bell it's time to start worrying.

Sticking with the positive news,  the other big ratings success story for the week, was ABC Daytime's All My Children. AMC added 251,000 total viewers over the previous week, and was up year-to-date 470,000 total viewers, as the last, greasy remembrances of Chuck Pratt's disastrous influence continued to be washed away by Lorraine Broderick. AMC also went up two-tenths of a point in households, and one-tenth of a point among women 18-49. AMC was the number one ABC soap in total viewers and households for the week.

AMC's sister sudser One Life to Live also bounced back from a long stint of dismal ratings news. OLTL added 224,000 total viewers over the previous week, and was up year-to-date 267,000 total viewers. OLTL went up two-tenths of a point in households, and among the coveted women 18-49 demo. OLTL also ditched the distinction of being the least watched daytime soap for the first time in a dog's age (Sorry, As The World Turns). What did I tell y'all? Whenever I dislike the storylines on One Life to Live, the ratings go up! Freak it, Ron C., I don't care if you have to electroshock Daivd Vickers next week to keep people watching what is 10 months out of the year the best soap on the air, DO IT! WATCH ONE LIFE TO LIVE!

And now for the not-so-good news from the House of Mouse's daytime lineup. General Hospital, the most enjoyable of the ABC soaps for the past month, shed 165,000 total viewers for the week of Feb. 8-12, 2010. GH was still up year-to-date 144,000 total viewers, thanks to maintaining much of its Sweeps numbers. GH dropped one-tenth of a ratings point in households and among women 18-49.

Over at CBS, daytime's most watched soap, The Young and the Restless dropped a meager 28,000 total viewers from the previous week's tally.Y&R was still up year-to-date 182,000 total viewers. Y&R held steady in households at an impressive 3.8, and managed to go up one-tenth of a ratings point among the coveted women 18-49 demo. The news wasn't so hot for Y&R's baby sister, The Bold and the Beautiful. B&B dropped 121,000 total viewers, and is down 265,000 total viewers year-to-date. B&B held steady in households, but dropped one-tenth of a point among women 18-49. At this rate, DAYS will overtake B&B in all demos any day now. Last, and yes, unfortunately, least, cancelled sudser As The World Turns dropped back into last place in all major demos. ATWT shed 56,000 total viewers, yet held steady in households and among women 18-49. What the frack is going on at CBS Daytime?
