Victoria Rowell is On Buzzworthy Radio As We Type!

Jesus take the wheel. Victoria Rowell is on Buzzworthy Radio right now, and my boy Na 'Vell is letting his outrage show about a Y&R-less Dru! Whether you love her or hate her, there is no denying the "sassy" black storyline on The Young and the Restless has not been worth a hot damn since she left. Good get Na'Vell.

I like Obama, but that is the ugliest dress I have ever seen... Sorry for being off topic!

I loved the ENTIRE interview. I love that VR is speaking out for all the black actors and just backstage politics period. And her giving Jess Walton props made me swoon. I love VR to death. She is that positive black woman that speaks her mind and we so need her in daytime period. But what I wanna know is what/who said the crude thing to Davetta the day before she was fired. That is what I wanna know.

I bow to the Truth that VR is sharing. She broke it down.

I am serious;y thinking about giving up the soaps, due to the lack of diversity

How brilliant was the Victoria Rowell interview just pure DIVA magic from start to finish, she just speaks her mind and makes these true to life issues with Y&R and the Daytime industry known. I always look forward to her interviews no matter where it is, I now just can't wait for the release of her novel and more of the hilarious webisodes.

BG, I know you and have our ups and downs, but I completely know how you feel on this. At some point the fight becomes a bit too much. It's like why, as soap fans, do we keep fighting for scraps at the table when we can get diverse storytelling of all kinds in primetime on cable and in film nowadays. Degrassi High is more diverse than any soap on daytime, and while their are no black dramas like Soul Food anymore, African American, Latina and gay characters are represented on many primetime shows, and not just as the sainted doctor or cop, or First and 15th corporate executive. I am in it until the very end, but it is getting tiresome.

Kudos to you  Jamey and the rest of DC crew, but for me It is like  can't even justify it anymore , it is so blatant. We have a President who is Black, why are they not strong AA characters on air or latino, asian or Gay.

Primetime, particularly on Cable is throwin it down

And when the hell AMC is going to give Debbi Morgan a damm storyline

Absolutely loved the interview. She had me DYING!

Vicky is not afraid to speak up, stands behind her work, and loves her fans. What more can you ask for in a soap diva?

When is Y&R going to get a grip and bring this woman back?!?

Jamey, you have to get Victoria Rowell back on the podcast.  I think it would be great.  VR keep telling it like it is.  Daytime is racist, Lets keep it real about it.

The interview was great and it proved that we don't only need VR on the screen, she is a great actress...but we also need a VR-type behind the scenes. They were going to make Devon white?  What???????  The things that she had to fight for behind the scenes, her wins and losses....are much more important than the character that she played on the screen, IMO.  And now we know why Lily has never dated a black man...........

I personally do not care for Obama and even if I loved him madly,  that has to be the worst looking dress I have ever cast my eyes on.  People need to get over the fact that VR is gone from Y and R and will never be brought back.  I can not understand how they can keep talking about it,  when it has been over and done with for so long.  I like also,  what the member above me wrote about Devon being made white.  Except for the new no talent Malcom character there appears to be a lot of mixed blood in Lily, Devon and Neal.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!! thats all i can say. LOVE VR! she's so real and tells it like it is!!!!! and to BG & Jamey-speak the truth!!!!! its really discouraging to look on tv @ my favorite soaps and not see a face that looks like mine especially on ATWT & GH and also scarcely see ppl of color on DAYS, Y&R, B&B and now OLTL, if it werent for AMC and Angie & Jessie i probably wouldnt watch soaps now... look @ Y&R and they're poor use of Kristoff St. John, Darius McCary, Bryton, & Christel Khalil and B&B and theyre VERY poor use of Texas Battle & Aaron D. Spears and not to forget DAYS (as well as theyre doing) whose fans rarely ever see Abe & Lexi! on screen! ....its really a shame that in 2010 we dont see diversity and not just with African Americans but with Asians, Latinos & The LGBT Community. I can @ least speak for myself (a young GAY BLACK man) and possibly the LGBT community when i say we have suffered the loss of KISH and have had to be tormented when we look at the mess ATWT has made of Luke & Noah & not to forget how AMC and how Brian Frons & Chuck Pratt totally mis-used Bianca (ER). B4 the end of 2010 i would love to see @ least one of the soaps (that havent failed at making a well written Gay storyline) succed in making a succesful 1... perhaps a BLK Gay S/L? maybe im pushing it lol but it angers me that these shows CANNOT seem to grasp the importance of diversity when a majority of the ppl that make up the viewers are minorities!!!! & the LGBT ppl. With AMC i can at least give them a nod with their use of Jesse & Angie on the show and how important it is to them that they're used & the same goes with Frankie, Randi, Natalia and Brot, quite frankly AMC can honestly say that they @ least have a little more diversity on the show than any soap rite now, OLTL before they let DD go and botched the evans family and kish S/L had those bragging rights (but as we all can see they cant really say that nemore) and Jamey u make an excellecnt poin when u say that primetime has more diversity than daytime soaps do, its sad really when u look at it and its disapointing, but like i said i love my soaps and even though they have flaws, i'll still continue to watch them and hope they improve on diversity.

QUESTION why dont VR find work on another soap? wouldn't her fans follow her there and all these other soap really really could use the rating...YR has made a decision whether or not people agree not to bring her back on canvas obviously they dont care about the so called rating they are missing...why keep beating a dead horse YR as move on why cant VR?
Maybe people should campaign for other soap to take her since she is sooo great for daytime rating just saying.

jgirl41, I would love for VR to do another soap like AMC--she and Debbie Morgan would ignite the screen--or GH where she could play Justus' sister & Maya's mother...IMO she bares a striking resemblance to the actress they hired..I would love to see her VR go toe to toe with Jane Elliot and Tony Geary...As far as the soaps lack of diversity...what else is new? PPl have been hating on blacks & other minorities forever...Primetime is no better...The two last remaining black tv shows---The Game & Everybody Hates Chris--have been canceled and now ABC canned Ugly Betty...that leaves no minority shows on broadcast televison. thank God for cable...I'm through with daytime...others, including Jamey, has stated that they will continue to watch daytime no matter how racist, well I wont...I'll check in every now and then but to watch it religiously would be supporting racism IMO.

VR knows how to deal with negative reactions. Obama will be obama tomorrow no matter how we feel about him. 95% of black Americans have white relatives or white ancestors. This country need to grow and hatred donot help. Victoria Rowell, Melony Thomas Scott, and Amelia Henlie have made great contributions to Americas growth. Not just day time tv. Get the big picture. This country need healing.
